Crossout Celebrates 1 Year

Thursday, May 31, 2018 — Today, the post-apocalyptic online action game Crossout from Gaijin Entertainment and Targem Games celebrates its one-year anniversary in Open Beta.  From May 31 to June 7, all players who log into Crossout will receive a mountable fireworks launcher and any player who wins multiple battles can earn exclusives such as decorative parts and decals.

Since the Crossout’s May 30, 2017 launch, we added three new factions, released hundreds of new parts, dozens of weapons, eight new locations, and 12 new gameplay modes including “Battle Royale”. The heart of Crossout is all about intense battles and customization, creating the perfect death dealing machine from parts earned on the battlefield, handcrafted from resources, or purchased on the Crossout marketplace. Tens of millions of vehicle variants have been constructed since launch, from crazy-small trikes to massive lumbering tanks and hovering Sci-Fi gunships. Based on all of the community crafted vehicles that have competed in hundreds of millions of combat missions, we have crafted a new vehicle using only the most popular parts. We call it the ‘Blendorama’.

The Blendorama possesses two of the most popular in-game weapons, the ‘MM5-4 Vector’ machine gun and the ‘AC43 Rapier’ automatic cannon. On the battlefield, players have preferred vehicles that possess a combination of speed and maneuverability, and so lightweight cabins that offer plenty of energy for weapons without slowing down their vehicle are very popular. The most popular lightweight cabin has been the ‘Growl’ cabin, used together with wheels as the favorite choice for propulsion.

Two more parts that players can’t seem to battle without are a radio to increase detection range of enemies and a fuel barrel attached to their vehicle. The fuel barrel is interesting, as it allows players to collect fuel from destroyed enemies after battle, but it comes with a super high risk of explosion if hit. The most picked faction are, quite fittingly, the murderous Lunatics, followed by the hard-hitting Scavengers and enigmatic Nomads.

Year Two in Crossout promises the addition of new game modes, new story missions, and even more parts and weapons to use to craft your vehicle.

VAMPYR Launch Trailer

June 1, 2018 – Vampyr, the narrative-driven action-RPG from DONTNOD Entertainment, releases next week – take control of newly-turned vampire Dr. Jonathan Reid on Tuesday, June 5th, available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Today, prepare to stalk or save the streets of 1918 London with Vampyr’s Launch Trailer!

In Vampyr you play as Dr. Jonathan Reid, a famous surgeon and blood transfusion specialist, freshly turned into a vampire after arriving back in his home city of London following the Great War. A man of logic and science, Reid’s firm beliefs are turned inside-out after awakening to a once-hidden world of secret societies, ungodly creatures, and ancient orders set upon ending his existence. All the while, London’s population crumbles under the pressure of a terrible disease – and Dr. Reid may be the city’s last hope to stop it.

Every one of Vampyr’s citizens is part of an interconnected social web, and the fate of one citizen in a social circle will impact the everyday life of the others, as well as the direction of the narrative. Each citizen has their own story, life, and amibitions – and every last one can be spared or sacrificed in Reid’s quest. Reid is a vampire, and the fastest way to evolve and unlock new supernatural abilities for combat is by drinking the blood of the living. In Vampyr, it’s not “Do I kill?” but “Who do I kill?”. Deadly encounters plague the doctor’s journey, and each citizen offers a tempting source of power… but there will be consequences.

Each of the four main districts have health status linked with the number of living, dead, and sick citizens. By feeding sparingly and keeping the populace healthy with crafted medicines, balance can be maintained. However, if the health status drops too low, the district will be lost to supernatural creatures along with every quest, shop, and citizen within. If every district of London falls, the game can still be played to completion, though with an outcome that suits such recklessness.

Your actions will save or doom London.

Downward Spiral: Horus Station Launch Trailer

Helsinki, Finland – May 31st, 2018 – Independent game and technology studio, 3rd Eye Studios’ long-awaited zero-gravity space adventure, Downward Spiral: Horus Station is out now on Steam, with optional Oculus Rift with Touch, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality support for $19.99 / €14.99 / £14.99. A PlayStation 4 release will follow this summer, with optional PlayStation VR support.

“Horus has been made by a small, passionate and bold team that wanted to tell a different kind of science fiction story,” said Gregory Louden, Lead Designer of 3rd Eye Studios. We can’t wait for players to discover our world, message and question for them by the end. We’ve brought all of our experience from games, cinema and music to create something we feel is atmospheric and different.”

Set aboard an abandoned space station, Downward Spiral: Horus Station lets players uncover the sci-fi mystery on their own, through close observation and interpretation. With no cutscenes, dialogue or text, players will have to rely on environmental storytelling to piece the plot together, as they explore this derelict vessel. Solving the mystery of the space station will take wits and ingenuity as you fight or avoid dangers unknown. Use the ship’s maintenance hardware – like bolt throwers, rail guns, and arc welders to take out threats, solve puzzles and find the truth as to why Horus Station has been left drifting in space.

Key to this otherworldly atmosphere is Downward Spiral: Horus Station’s novel zero-gravity movement mechanic, wherein players must push themselves off of the scenery or use grappling tools to navigate this chunky, 70’s retro-chic space station. Further accentuating this trippy mood is an ambient soundtrack composed by platinum selling HIM frontman Ville Valo.

3rd Eye Studios realizes that not everyone likes to play games the same way, soDownward Spiral: Horus Station features a bevy of gameplay options to tailor the experience. Those with Virtual Reality and motion control kits can engage with an extra level of immersion, the whole game can be played entirely in single-player or two-player co-op, and there’s even a game mode that removes combat entirely from the campaign for players who prefer a more relaxed, contemplative experience. In addition to Horus Station’s story campaign, there’s eight-player PvP and PvE multiplayer modes including Deathmatch, Horde, and Survivor challenges.

What critics are saying:

  • “As far as games set in space go, this one will be a game changer.” – Paste
  • “With a well-crafted movement system and gorgeous visuals, the game is shaping up to be a well-crafted, space-faring mystery.” – Hardcore Gamer
  • “The most effortless way I’ve ever navigated zero-G in a video game.” – GameCritics
