The BenQ EX3501R (curved 35″ Ultra-Wide QHD), EW3270U (32″ 4K UHD) and EL2870U (28″ 4K UHD) monitors all deliver breathtaking and hyper-realistic video quality through cutting-edge HDR technology for the ultimate in gaming and HDR video entertainment. Each monitor offers enhanced brightness, color temperature and contrast, adjusting to particular content automatically, while delivering incredible levels of detail and vividness to HDR video and cinema content. These enhancements increase the overall dynamic range between true black and bright white to more closely resemble what the viewers’ eyes see in the natural world. All three monitors support AMD FreeSync™ — and the EX350IR adds a 100Hz refresh rate — to eliminate image tearing, broken frames, and choppy game play for ultra-smooth and fluid gaming.

In addition, the EX3501R provides a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio with ultra-high 3440×1440 resolution, perfectly proportioning the 2.35:1 ratio of Cinemascope films and depicting the panoramic background graphics that make gaming fun. The new EW3270ZL monitor is ideal for viewing high-resolution movies and boosting work productivity, delivering enhanced video enjoyment through optimal color precision and QHD 2560×1440 resolution. With 10 bits of color depth, Rec.709, and 100% sRGB color space, the monitor offers more than a billion colors to work with astonishing precision. In addition, the EW3270ZL delivers multi-device connectivity via dual HDMI, DisplayPort, and Mini DisplayPort inputs, giving users greater flexibility and the best possible video image quality from external sources. BenQ’s Low Blue Light Plus Technology filters out shorter, higher-energy blue-violet radiation (420~455nm) that can be harmful to the eyes, while keeping the remaining beneficial blue turquoise light (455~480nm); hence, this monitor can reproduce more accurate color compared with conventional Low Blue Light technology.

The EX3501R, EW3270U, and EL2870U all feature BenQ’s exclusive Brightness Intelligence Plus technology, while the EW3270ZL features Brightness Intelligence technology. This enables the monitors to detect ambient light levels and the color temperature in the viewing environment and automatically adjust on-screen brightness and color temperature for maximum viewing comfort. As a result, screen contents are not overexposed, and details in dark areas are enhanced to maintain a visible level of clarity and intensity.

Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes Gets Release Date

February 5, 2018 – One of the most powerful wizards in the Dungeons & Dragons® multiverse shares some of his hard-won knowledge with fans in a new book full of lore and monsters for D&D fifth edition. Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes is available everywhere on May 29, but you can pick up a limited alternative cover (pictured below) in game stores on May 18, 2018.

Mordenkainen hails from the City of Greyhawk, but over the eons he has expanded his mastery of the major conflicts in the multiverse. Similar to 2016’s Volo’s Guide to Monsters, Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes not only contains everything you need to run challenging new monsters at the table with your friends but also provides tons of storytelling information on some of the most contentious relationships in the multiverse. You’ll learn more about the schism between drow and other elves, githyanki and githzerai, and dwarves and duergar, in addition to reading about the incessant Blood War between demons and devils.

Players will love to delve into Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes to search for story hooks to use with their characters, as well as try out some of the player options for races like tieflings and elves, or maybe an otherworldly githyanki or githzerai. Dungeon Masters looking for inspiration and greater challenges for players who have reached higher levels of play will find much to explore in Tome of Foes.

Debris Co-Op Trailer Released

Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (Feb. 5, 2018) — Following the soft launch of its single player campaign in October of 2017, Debris is back and introducing its much-anticipated co-op mode. Lovingly developed over 3 years, the first-person co-op story takes place in a surreal, sunken world locked between chilly ice and unforgiving rock. An unfortunate accident leaves you stranded deep beneath the ice clinging to survival as you battle the elements and your own creeping psychosis. Players must scramble to find power, defeat strange creatures, and decipher what mysterious forces are attempting to prevent their escape. To celebrate the addition of co-op, Moonray has released a brand new trailer highlighting its inclusion.

Designed based on the challenges facing those affected by psychosis and created with the help of medical professionals, Debris explores the interplay between perception and reality in an unconventional, narrative-driven co-op format.

Escape Together or Die Alone

You’re part of a small team sent to film a promotional video for a groundbreaking discovery: meteoric debris embedded deep in Arctic ice that provides clean, hyper-efficient energy. Taking on the roles of either Ryan, the team’s videographer, or Sonya, a promising engineer tasked with leading the project, you’ll embark on a fight for survival in the murky depths of the Arctic Ocean.

Stranded at the bottom after a tragic accident, injured and running out of time, your only hope for survival is to reach the surface. But something else is going on. Things aren’t right, they don’t add up, and you can’t help but speculate. Why is this happening?

OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes Review

OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes began its journey on the Cartoon Network in February of 2016 as a series of shorts. Now a full cartoon series, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes follows the exploits of K.O., a young boy with dreams of becoming the best hero ever. Now, you can play as K.O. in Cartoon Network Games’ OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes. Released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC platforms, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes features the same voice talents from the cartoon series as well as the show’s signature visual style. Developed by Capybara Games, a company mostly known for handheld and casual titles, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes is a very well-polished game that demonstrates a mastery of their craft. The game is very easy to pick up with simply keyboard/gamepad controls and satisfying beat ’em up combat. Players navigate K.O. around the various levels, completing quests for various characters along the way. These quests usually involve combat with one or more opponents, and most combat takes place in a very Final Fight way. Along the journey, you will collect Pow cards, cards which allow you to use special abilities in combat. These powers can evolve over time, making them even better. The whole Pow card system figured closely to the game’s plot, so I’ll stop before spoiling anything.

Unfortunately, because the game is very closely-tied to its namesake show (as it should be), it is not as engaging for someone who has yet to watch. Now, in a more complex title like South Park: The Fractured But Whole, this is not a problem as there has been so much cultural saturation of that IP that most people can pick up what’s going on and what characters are which. Because OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes is far younger and has yet to achieve that cult status, a non-follower of the show won’t stick around for very long given the “lite” gameplay mechanics – which is not to say they are dull in any way, they are a lot of fun. It’s just without a frame of reference, there are far more satisfying games out there to explore.

I mention this because I have yet to see an episode of the show and had to bring in a younger family member who had seen the show to brief me on what I was doing. In their super-fandom of the show, they LOVE this game beyond words. Also, in exploring this game’s environment and story, I have been challenged and am interested in watching the show so that is something the game will be very good at doing if given a chance. There is some good synergy there!

Overall, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes is a fun casual beat ’em up that fans of the show will love and can even be enjoyed by people who never saw a single episode, although probably not as much. Nicely, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes retails for $19.99 which is cheap enough that you won’t feel guilty for buying it either way!

Celebrate Charlie Brown Day at Knott’s Berry Farm

February 2, 2018 – On Sunday, February 4th, Knott’s is celebrating Good Ol’ Charlie Brown by introducing the park’s first ever Charlie Brown Day during the Knott’s Peanuts Celebration. The park invites guests to enjoy the celebration as the park attempts to set a record breaking moment with the most Charlie Browns in one picture in honor of the lovable blockhead himself, Charlie Brown. Attendees will be encouraged to pay homage to Charlie Brown by sporting his signature bright yellow zig zag stripped tee and red baseball cap outfit.

At 1pm all guests dressed as Charlie Brown will be invited to gather at the Calico Mine stage for a once in a lifetime photo opportunity as a crowd of Charlie Browns will pose alongside the park’s very own Charlie Brown for the first record breaking attempt in the history of Knott’s. Plus, don’t miss out on all the fun activities, shows and themed food offered at the Knott’s Peanuts Celebration taking place on weekends starting January 27th to February 25th, plus President’s day.
