London, UK – 13th February: Almost two decades after the franchise made its debut on PlayStation, Square Enix Collective® and Sushee are excited to announce that their Fear Effect sequel – Fear Effect® Sedna – will hit PS4™, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and PC on Tuesday March 6th, 2018.
An entirely new chapter in the series, Fear Effect Sedna is co-written by the series’ original writer and takes Hana, Rain, Glas and Deke – along with new addition Axel – into the world of Inuit mythology. Built around a third-person isometric point of view, Fear Effect Sedna combines action, stealth, and puzzle solving with animated cutscenes – crucially including the classic death cutscenes from the original games.
“Fear Effect Sedna generated an amazing response from fans of the series when we ran our Kickstarter, and with the support of Square Enix Collective and co-producer Forever Entertainment, we’re excited to see just what they make of it come release,” offers Benjamin Anseaume, founder of Sushee.
“Developing Fear Effect Sedna has really brought the team here at Sushee together, and that’s exactly what the gameplay is about. Each character has different special weapons and the game includes a paused tactical mode to control different team members at the same time and give orders to work as a team. It’s an approach that taps into the core structure of the original games but, with the technology available to us today, feels very 2018.”
Following on from Fear Effect Sedna, French studio Sushee is also working on the recently announced Fear Effect Reinvented – a remastered take on the original game released on PlayStation almost 18 years ago – also in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The combination of the two Sushee games will bring the Fear Effect IP to an audience of existing fans looking to recapture the spirit of the original games and new players who missed them the first time around.
“2018 is a big year for Fear Effect and a big year for Collective alike,” says Phil Elliott, Director of Indie Publishing at Square Enix West. “When Square Enix launched Collective, one of the goals was to see if opening up some of our established IP to benefit indie studios, and it’s great to see how Sushee have gone about the task. Fear Effect Sedna is going to be an important chapter in our story for that very reason, and we think 2018 is going to be the year when gamers finally reconnect with the world of Hana, Rain, Glas and Deke.”
Fear Effect Sedna features:
The return of the original Fear Effect’s much loved cast of characters
Isometric viewpoint to enable players to interact with multiple characters at the same time
Gameplay that mixes real-time action, tactical play, stealth, and puzzles
The adrenaline-based “Fear Effect” gameplay mechanic that impacts on both attack and defence
Animated stylistic cutscenes, stunning environments, and classic death cutscenes
A mature and exciting story that follows mercenaries uncovering the mysteries of Inuit mythology
Fear Effect Sedna will hit PS4™, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and PC on Tuesday March 6th, 2018 for $19.99/€19.99/£15.99.

As a testament to Square Enix Collective’s commitment to indie developers, it recently joined forces with AMD to support AMD4U, an innovative new program that provides AMD consumers with a range of games from a new generation of cutting edge independent development teams from around the world.
Eureka Ergonomics was a name I had not been familiar with until recently when I got the chance to try out one of their Sit-Stand Desktop units. These allow computer users to transition their desktops from a seated to a standing position, which is a healthy thing to do – especially when your Apple Watch keeps reminding you to stand up every hour or so. Now you can stand up and continue working or playing!
The model I got the chance to check out was their gamer-focused, 46-inch variant. Mostly black with a trim of blue, the Sit-Stand Desktop 46 is a very large unit and weighs almost 70 lbs, so make sure your desk and support its weight – and remember you still have to put your monitor(s) on top of it! The unit weighs this much because of its transitioning mechanism and overall craftsmanship. The Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop is built like a tank and feels rock solid. After sitting the Sit-Stand Desktop 46 on your base desk, place your keyboard, mouse, and monitors where you like them and make there their respective cables have play to stretch out and retract.
When you are ready to transition the Sit-Stand Desktop 46 into the standing mode, simply stand up and squeeze the two levers underneath each side of the unit. Then slowly pull upwards and the Sit-Stand Desktop will move with ease. When you have the height adjusted where you want, let go of the levers and it will lock into place. Unlike most sit and stand desktops utilizing mechanical springs, which make a bit of noise when transitioning, the Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop is whisper quiet and won’t disturb your office neighbors. This smooth and quiet operation is due to the unit’s advanced gas strut system.
I actually utilized the Sit-Stand Desktop 46 in a multitude of ways – of course, gaming was the primary use. I blasted a large number of Stormtroopers while standing at this desk but, also, I watched movies, listened to music, and worked on various web programming projects I am in the middle of. I can’t say enough positive things about this Sit-Stand Desktop.
As previously-mentioned, this Sit-Stand Desktop is focused on gamers, and its overall desktop cut-out shape reflects that with modern angles and style. However, if you are looking for something smaller or even more conservative in design, Eureka Ergonomic offers a variety of sizes and styles. Most standard users would probably do fine with their 36 inch model, which retails for about $400 dollars.
Overall, the Eureka Ergonomics Sit-Stand Desktop 46 is an outstanding desktop accessory that will enable you to easily transition your workspace from seated to standing modes. Its rock-solid construction should appeal to those curious if the $600 dollar investment is worth it, and its wide open desktop space will appeal to gamers who need room for various peripherals. If you are looking into purchasing a standing desktop accessory, I highly suggest you check out one of the Sit-Stand Desktop from Eureka. You can order your own Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop 46 over at their official website.

MANCHESTER, February 9 2018 —Descenders, the extreme downhill freeriding game from development studio RageSquid, is now available on Steam — and will be coming exclusively to Xbox Game Preview soon on Xbox One.
Published by UK label No More Robots, Descenders throws players into the high-octane world of downhill biking, where every jump, whip and scrub will earn Rep points for you and your team — but with the risk that you might lose it all with just one badly timed landing.
A deep physics system and full controller support allow players to string together incredible trick combos, as you make your way down the mountain and attempt to reach the bottom with as few scratches as possible.
Procedurally generated worlds mean that no two runs are ever the same, while nerve-racking Boss Jumps truly sort the casuals from the pros. There are no upgrade modifiers and power-ups in Descenders — instead, players must progress through skill alone, if they want to lead their team to glory, and become the next legendary Descender.
Post-launch, players can expect regular updates to the game, with new tweaks, bikes, kits, challenges, modes, features and worlds to follow post-launch.
Descenders is developed by RageSquid, and published by No More Robots, the British publishing label from Mike Rose, with funding from creative industries fund nl, and sound design from Power Up Audio, best known for their work on titles like Crypt of the Necrodancer and Towerfall Ascension. Finally, the teams are partnering up with drum & bass label Liquicity to deliver a fully licensed soundtrack.
Dundee, Scotland – February 8th 2018 – A culmination of bizarre interstellar events collide today to create a perfect swarm, as Scottish independent developer Team Junkfish releases their eclectic turn-based extraterrestrial strategy game Attack of the Earthlings for PC!
Team Junkfish have describe their aberrant alien adventure as “a breath of fresh air” for the studio – a rather prolific tempest that blew in talent such as voice actor SungWon Cho, and original soundtrack composer Mikolai Stroinski(The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Blood & Wine).
Team Junkfish are also delighted to announce today that the game will follow on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2018
In Attack of the Earthlings, the humans behind Galactoil – a comically dysfunctional interstellar energy corporation – have travelled light years to Planet X13 and parked a gigantic space-drill to mine for fossil fuel reserves, sip the odd margarita in the sun and hunt big bugs. However, their latest foray into energy exploration has landed them in a bit of a pickle; they’ve unwittingly flattened a native species home and now the surviving “Swarmers” are out for blood.
Combining turn-based combat and stealth in a dark comedic single player campaign influenced by the comic stylings of “The IT Crowd” and “Father Ted”, players take control of the “Swarmers”, a highly aggressive insectoid species, who must convert human flesh into alien muscle, evolve their units and even find the time to gatecrash a birthday party as they put a stop to the Earthlings’ interplanetary assault.
To put a stop to the invasion, your Swarmers must plan attacks carefully, emerging from vents and lockers to take the human prey by surprise, and ambush multiple enemies at once to remain undetected. The more earthlings killed, the more corpses can be consumed and transformed into new units with specialized roles and unique abilities. The flesh of their own workers is the key ingredient to developing a successful alien insurgency against Galactoil.
You must fight your way up Galactoil’s interplanetary drill, through absurd environments and passing quirky characters, with the goal of defeating the ultimate enemy: upper management – including Regional Manager Dennis Dickinham; a man both massively unqualified and massively overpaid.
Voiced by SungWon Cho Dennis Dickinham is a gregarious fellow who finds joy in everything, be it catching a few rounds of golf with the boys or rerouting power from sickbay to the massage chairs in the boardroom, Dickinham’s a delight to be around! A word of warning – it’s a bad idea to utter the phrase “bad idea” in his presence.
