PARIS – March 2, 2018 – Today, Ubisoft announced the acquisition of the video game development studio Blue Mammoth Games. With the acquisition, Ubisoft adds Brawlhalla, currently the most played fighting game on Steam, to its portfolio and bolsters its online expertise.
Blue Mammoth Games is based near Atlanta, Georgia, and is comprised of 21 talented team members, including founders Matthew Woomer and Lincoln Hamilton, who have a strong massive multiplayer online background. The studio developed and published Brawlhalla, a free-to-play online brawler that is among the top free-to-play games on PS4. Engagement in Brawlhalla as an esports grew exponentially in its second season, and they recently kicked off the third year of esports events, including a partnership with Dreamhack for the Brawlhalla World Championship.
“The team at Blue Mammoth Games is expert at developing and running scalable, competitive, multiplayer online games, and they’ll be a great addition to Ubisoft’s network of studios,” said Laurent Detoc, President of Ubisoft NCSA. “With Brawlhalla, we’re getting a hugely popular and highly-profitable title that aligns with our strategy of expanding our audience and providing players with long-lasting, entertaining gaming experiences.”

SAN FRANCISCO — March 1, 2018 — Today, Ubisoft announced Far Cry 5 Inside Eden’s Gate, an original short film inspired by the upcoming release of Far Cry 5, will stream exclusively on Prime Video starting March 5, via Prime Video Direct (formerly Amazon Video Direct). Set in the fictional Hope County, Montana, Inside Eden’s Gate will delve deeper into the Project at Eden’s Gate and its ruthless leader, Joseph Seed. The short film is produced in partnership with Asylum, an award-winning division of prolific feature film studio Legendary Entertainment.
In Inside Eden’s Gate, rumors of a fanatical cult called The Project at Eden’s Gate lure three vloggers to the remote Hope County, Montana. As the vloggers follow the leads of missing locals and other strange events, they come face-to-face with Joseph Seed, played by the same actor as the in-game version of the cult leader, and the rest of the fanatical doomsday cult. Produced by Asylum Entertainment, Inside Eden’s Gate features Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) and Kyle Gallner (American Sniper).

Upland, California, U.S.A: March 1, 2018 – BLACK MARKET ESCAPE ROOMS, a new immersive-based attraction company, announces the opening of MURDER CO, a permanent escape experience aimed at turning the attraction industry on its head. Moonlighting from their day gigs, a handful of theme park professionals have thrown the proverbial gloves off by thrusting guests into an adventure far too severe for the family-friendly confines of an amusement park.
MURDER CO is more than simply solving puzzles, combinations or finding keys to break out of a locked room. The high-level adventure incorporates unique entertainment elements matched with intense scenes of harsh violence, pitfalls and physicality. Groups of up to eight members find themselves trapped in a gore and chaos-filled race for survival.
MURDER CO: A high-priced, high-society underground black market sports ring enabling voyeuristic individuals to privately witness a live murder take place. Beyond the scant rumors found on the Black Web, not much is known about the enigmatic company. It is only after guests sign-up that the specific details of the ominous Murder Co will be revealed. If you’re still brave enough to make the plunge after signing a waiver, dangerous mystery awaits.
The experience was created by theme park designer, Jon Cooke, who was looking to push the parameters set by the day-to-day requirements in his industry. In response to founding his new company, Black Market Escape Rooms, Cooke says, “I saw so much potential story and show elements in escape rooms. I wanted to do something more so we aimed to create this unforgettable encounter.”
Regarding Murder Co’s intensity is attraction co-writer and director Ted Dougherty, who confesses, “We had to go to some extremely dark places that definitely left a few emotional marks.” Although the attraction may not fall into the category of an “extreme haunt,” it does contain content best reserved for those not easily offended or disgusted.
Murder Co includes state-of-the-art special effects typically seen inside major theme park attractions. Some of the other professionals Cooke has recruited include artists, technicians and designers who have worked with the Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, Cedar Fair and the National Football League. Companies on board and supplying a stockpile of surprises are Gantom Lighting and Controls, Immortal Masks and Ghost Ride Productions.
Expect serious thrills as Cooke is no stranger to terrifying people based on his innovative haunted attraction designs for Knott’s Scary Farm. When conceiving Murder Co, he admits, “It’s what I have always wanted to see and do in an immersive attraction.” A living nightmare is one step away for those bold enough to cross into MurderCo.

Television Group’s digital studio Blue Ribbon Content will have its own space to highlight upcoming projects and foster creative development in the SXSW community.

Midsummer Scream 2018 tickets are now on-sale! If you have yet to experience Midsummer Scream and are a fan of Halloween or horror movies, you owe it to yourself to go. LONG BEACH, CA – Midsummer Scream, the largest Halloween and horror fan convention in the world, returns to Southern California July 28-29 for an unforgettable weekend of thrills, chills, and frightful fun all under one roof at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
