GreedFall Reveal Teaser Trailer

February 9, 2017 – GreedFall is the latest RPG from Spiders, currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Revealed at “le What’s Next de Focus” event last week, GreedFall today unveil a first teaser trailer, hinting at the 17th century setting of the game and its ambiance embedded in magic. As showcased in this video, Greedfall aims for a very unique visual identity, inspired by Baroque art from 17th Century Europe, depicting grandiose sceneries in muted warm colors and dark undertones.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces The New Revolution Galactic Attack AR Coaster

Last spring, the two companies joined forces to introduce North America’s first Virtual Reality (VR) Roller Coasters using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, and now in 2017— for the first time ever, riders will be offered a one-of-a-kind mixed reality experience that only Six Flags can deliver. Another world’s first—complex gameplay, where riders make key decisions during the course of the ride that can affect their scoring at the end. The New Revolution Galactic Attack makes its world debut at Six Flags Magic Mountain, near Los Angeles and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, near San Francisco, offering park guests a thrilling, fully immersive ride of their lives as they battle to save the planet from an impending alien drone invasion.

When riders board the coasters and don their Samsung Gear VR headsets, they will be introduced to the device’s passthrough camera functionality, instantly making riders aware of their surroundings, by allowing them to see the “real world,” including the person seated next to them— along with virtual content. As they get settled into the ride, a heads up display overlay on the passthrough camera view will show data like current status of weaponry, time codes, fuel cells, and a countdown clock. Cresting the lift hill, a massive, swirling wormhole comes into view. As riders drop at high speeds, the mixed reality view changes to a completely immersive, virtual reality environment and a fighter spaceship cockpit materializes and envelops the riders into a tunnel of light. At the bottom of the first hill, riders are launched into the middle of a space battle, coming under attack from flying drones firing lasers and missiles. After swinging through tight channels, narrowly dodging drones and artillery fire, riders are brought into one of three drone bays, each of which offer a completely different gaming experience and three different endings.

To commemorate the opening weekend of The New Revolution Galactic Attack on February 18-20, both parks are “attacking” hunger by hosting a food drive. Every paid guest or season pass holder who brings a full bag of non-perishable food items to support local regional food banks will be given an exclusive opportunity to enjoy the VR ride experience before it opens to the public the following weekend, February 25-26 at Six Flags Magic Mountain and February 20 at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Guests at Six Flags Magic Mountain will experience Galactic Attack on The New Revolution, the world’s first looping coaster built in 1976 and North America’s first VR coaster in 2016.  At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, The New Revolution Galactic Attack VR will be experienced on Kong, the park’s floorless looping coaster.  VR is free with park admission.

The New Revolution Galactic Attack is one of 19 roller coasters in Six Flags Magic Mountain’s world-class coaster collection. ScareLA Moving to LA Convention Center for 2017

EVE: Valkyrie – Wormholes Update Trailer

February 8, 2017 – From the edges of known space, Valkyrie scouts have brought back intel on a mysterious phenomenon! Wormholes – the fourth major free update for EVE: Valkyrie – will be coming to CCP Games’ stunning virtual reality space combat shooter on Wednesday 15 February across Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive.

Introducing a whole new way to play EVE: Valkyrie, the Wormholes update brings mysterious and exotic game modes, as well as the new Leagues alpha feature.

Each weekend, a new wormhole will open and inside, players will find unique gameplay opportunities that challenge everything they know about being a Valkyrie pilot. From mined control points to Supermissiles and beyond, the combinations are endless. The mysteries of Wormhole space are still largely unknown, with plenty yet for players to discover.

The Wormholes update also brings with it the new Leagues alpha feature, which showcases the competitive spirit of the Valkyrie. All pirates are after treasure, but to a Valkyrie the ultimate reward is status. In this first iteration of Leagues, players will earn points toward League status by playing competitive multiplayer matches. Some Background on Insurgency: Sandstorm’s Story

February 8, 2017 – The developers behind Insurgency and Day of Infamy are excited to present more information about key features, screenshots and concept art illustrating the story premise behind their next first-person military shooter in development titled Insurgency: Sandstorm.

Insurgency: Sandstorm, published by Focus Home Interactive, is New World’s sequel to Insurgency, which will take the renowned shooter to consoles as well as Steam coming in 2018. Sandstorm takes a graphical leap to Unreal Engine 4, but at its core will still feature the close-quarters infantry combat for multiplayer and cooperative gameplay that has established Insurgency as a cult classic for over 3 million players on Steam.

Additional features confirmed at this time include:

  • New game modes designed for vehicle gameplay.

New World is also venturing into new territory with a story mode for 4-player cooperative and single-player gameplay. A few years ago, in a familiar setting, the sandy streets of an Iraqi village. The tone of Insurgency: Sandstorm’s narrative shifts the typical shooter inspiration away from blockbuster military power fantasy movies more towards a dark and understated indie film rooted in reality.

With depth to the narrative, you must look beyond the surface, away from these typical streets, behind closed doors, in a dark room to discover our female protagonist. She is enslaved by radical insurgents, along with her sister and other young girls held captive.

A sandstorm engulfs the village and fighting erupts. By chance, a hole is blown into the wall and the girls escape. In the confusion of the storm, our protagonist is separated from her sister and friends. She is alone, wandering in the desert.

Present day. Our protagonist has enlisted with a rebel faction, fighting against the radical insurgents. They push through battered villages, hitting the insurgents hard. One day, a key piece of information is discovered and our protagonist’s world is not what it seems.

She breaks free from the security of the main group to embark on a personal quest. Accompanying her is another female fighter, her best friend who was held captive with her years earlier. Along for the journey are two foreign vigilantes: an American combat veteran of the war in the Middle East, and a French citizen who has never seen combat.

Along the path of their journey, several challenges emerge. Without a military force backing you up, that force may become an obstacle.

Essentially, the narrative is a road-trip story. It’s about these characters bonding through the many challenges that arise. Their diverse experience leads to interesting character dynamics, but ultimately their actions extend beyond their own volition.
