Warface Getting Two New Gameplay Modes

warface-223

Frankfurt, Germany – April 2, 2015Get set for a double dose of fresh shooter action as two brand new game modes come to Crytek’s free online FPS, Warface, today.

In the fast and furious Domination Versus Mode, players will scrap to fend off the enemy team and hold down three different positions on the map. Securing each of those strategic points for a set period of time will put players on the path to victory, but with every second that passes the mounting pressure will ensure only those who can work together will survive. For the debut of Domination Mode, players will compete on the newly-launched SubZero Versus map; which invites them to return to the ice-locked mountains of Siberia as they battle for supremacy.

Adding to the exciting addition of Domination Mode, today also sees the arrival of the Marathon Survival Mode in Warface. Bringing together the three original maps from the game’s Siberia setting, Marathon Mode challenges players to outlast and outgun the enemy as they tackle the Operation Cold Peak Co-op campaign in the form of one continuous level.

Operation Cold Peak’s three individual acts – Spearhead, Ambush and Zenith – have already been pushing hardened veterans to their limits as they team up and brave hostile territory together. The introduction of Marathon Mode ramps the adversity to a whole new level by merging the diverse and deadly challenges of each snow-bound environment.

In Spearhead, players will have to fight off waves of incoming Blackwood operatives as they attempt to hack into a console and snatch precious enemy intel. Ambush heightens the tension with more back-to-the-wall combat and a boss battle that coincides with a deadly avalanche. Rounding off the campaign, Zenith features blockbuster action as teams take to the trenches and build towards a truly explosive finale.

Players can test their mettle and fight to the finish in Domination Mode and Marathon Mode by signing up for a free Warface account today at www.warface.com.

(April 1, 2015) HOLLYWOOD, CA – Today, April 1, global superstar Vin Diesel, star and producer of Universal Pictures’ Furious 7, received one of Hollywood’s highest accolades, putting his handprints and footprints in cement in the world-famous forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX®, and became the legendary theatre’s 282nd handprint-footprint honoree.

Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7 (www.furious7.com), opening April 3.

James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan.

A native of New York City, Diesel has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after film stars. In addition to his huge box-office success, Diesel is a prominent producer and filmmaker. Later this year, Diesel will star in The Last Witch Hunter, which he also produced. He most recently headlined and produced the third chapter in
The Chronicles of Riddick franchise, Riddick.

In 2013, Diesel was seen in Fast & Furious 6, the sixth installment of the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise, as well as Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious (2009). He wore multiple hats on all three projects as he reprised his role as Dominic Toretto and produced the films, along with Neal H. Moritz. He also wrote and directed the original short film Los Bandoleros. The short, which was showcased on the Fast & Furious DVD, tells the intriguing back story of the characters and events leading up to the explosive oil-truck heist in the film.

Another endeavor in Diesel’s entrepreneurial rise was the creation of his successful video game company, Tigon Studios, which created and produced 2004’s top-selling Xbox game, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.

Diesel previously starred alongside Michelle Yeoh in 20th Century Fox’s Babylon A.D., for director Mathieu Kassovitz. In this thriller, Diesel played a veteran-turned-mercenary who takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to China. He is unaware that she is carrying an organism that a cult wants to harvest to produce a genetically modified messiah.

Diesel was also seen in the courtroom drama Find Me Guilty, directed by renowned filmmaker Sidney Lumet. Set in the ’80s, the film documents the famous three-year trial of 20 members of a mob family. Diesel earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of Jackie DiNorscio, the one mobster who chose to forgo his rights to an attorney and defended himself. To play this role, Diesel transformed himself into the 47-year-old Italian mobster by putting on 20 pounds.

Diesel will play the title role in Hannibal the Conqueror, which tells the story of the Carthaginian general who rode an elephant across the Alps to attack Rome in the third century B.C. In addition to this film, Diesel’s One Race Films will produce Hannibal the Barbarian, a children’s animated series based on the stories of Hannibal, for the BET network. Diesel’s future projects include Touchstone’s Player’s Rule. The film, written by Ron Bass and Jen Smolka, will be Diesel’s first role as the lead in a romantic comedy. Diesel will star in The Wheelman, which is in development by MTV Films, Paramount Pictures and One Race Films. Diesel’s Tigon Studios and Midway Games will collaborate to release the film and video game simultaneously.

Diesel starred in his first comedy feature for Disney, The Pacifier, opposite Faith Ford, Brad Garrett, Lauren Graham and Brittany Snow. The 2005 film, directed by Adam Shankman, followed an undercover agent who, after failing to protect an important government scientist, learns that the scientist’s family is in danger. In an effort to redeem himself, he agrees to take care of the man’s children-only to discover that child care is his toughest mission yet. The Pacifier was a huge box-office success.

In the highly anticipated science-fiction feature The Chronicles of Riddick, Diesel reprised the title role of Richard B. Riddick. Produced by One Race Films, it was the follow-up to the cult favorite Pitch Black. Diesel previously starred in the action-thriller A Man Apart, which he also produced.

Topping Diesel’s list of credits is his star turn in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, for which he won an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Team, along with co-star Paul Walker, and was nominated for Best Male Performance. He starred in the blockbuster XXX, which he also executive produced. Diesel appeared in Saving Private Ryan, for which he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the film’s ensemble cast. His other credits include roles in Boiler Room the action-thriller A Man Apart, which he also produced;and the voice of the title character in The Iron Giant, which won an Annie Award for Best Animated Feature.

Diesel wrote, produced, directed and starred in the independent short Multi-Facial, which explored the issue of being multiracial in today’s society. The film follows Diesel, whose biological mother is Caucasian and biological father is African-American, on several auditions in which he is told he is either “too black” or “too white” for the part. It was after seeing this short at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival that director Steven Spielberg created the role of Private Adrian Caparzo in Saving Private Ryan specifically for Diesel.

Diesel wrote, produced, directed and starred in the full-length feature Strays, which he described as a “multicultural Saturday Night Fever.” The drama was selected to compete at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival.

Walking Tanks Come to War Thunder

WarThunder_ST-1_4

April 1, 2015 — The Soviets began development of their highly experimental ST-1 (the walking tanks) and the SPS-255 (rubberized tank) prior to the beginning of World War II. The First World War introduced trench warfare. The ineffectiveness of conventional infantry in trench warfare demanded the creation of a new types of ground vehicles that could easily maneuverer over and around destroyed roads and battlefields, all while avoiding landmines, and in the case of the SPS-255, deflecting enemy fire.

The Soviets developed the ST-1 as the world’s first and only model of the walking tank. The Soviet ST-1 was able to withstand almost all anti-tank mines and sand dollars. The ST-1’s insect-like appearance and movement instilled fear in the ranks of enemy infantry, but its high production costs lead to the Soviet Union abandoning mass production. The Soviets did repurpose many of the ST-1s parts for other tanks, for example, some parts of the tower appeared in later versions of the Soviet tank KV-1 and t-60 and t-26.

Only 20 units remain from the initial production, 12 of which remain with Russia. The Germans captured five during the war of Stalingrad, and the Americans received three as part of a failed developmental exchange program between the two countries.

Gaijin Entertainment, in honor of innovative ST-1 has released the experimental models of the Soviet walking tank for fans of War Thunder for April 1, 2015 only. Players who use Soviet, German, and American vehicles will have access to the walking tanks. To recreate the walking tanks, War Thunder game developers received top-secret access to the remaining units, were able to study their maneuverability and defenses.

In addition to ST-1s, War Thunder developers decided to give players access to another experimental model of tank, the SPS-255. The concept of the SPS-255 was to provide a tank with easy maneuverability and armor that was able to deflect enemy’s ammo. Rather than traditional armor, the outer shell of the SPS-255 reinforced consisted of rubberized steel that created a bouncing effect the rejected the enemy’s ammo.

To provide players with simulation quality gameplay, Gaijin Entertainment has implemented hit points so that players can try to exploit both tank’s limited vulnerability. Developers are confident that the new tanks will provide fans with a break from War Thunder’s ultra-realistic battles, allowing them to experience what might have been if only mass-production had taken place of both tanks during World War II.

Players wanting to experience the ST-1 (walking tanks) and SPS-255, which are only available today, please visit the “Events” section in War Thunder.

World of Tanks Lunar Game Mode

WoT_Xbox_360_Edition_Lunar_Mode_Image_03

April 1, 2015 — Wargaming today announced that in the spirit of April Fools’ Day, the company will temporarily introduce a new “Lunar” mode and custom map, Moon River, to the console version of World of Tanks. From April 3 to April 5, players who log into the game will be transported to a lunar landscape, with appropriately reduced gravity, for laser blasting matches of cosmic proportions.

On April 3, every tanker will find in their garage a special lunar version of the M-24 Chaffee to take into battle on the crater-marked surface of Moon River. With gravity that is one-sixth of Earth’s, big air and bigger landings are in store as these massive vehicles catapult over huge chasms.

And any trip to outer space wouldn’t be complete without a high-tech weapons arsenal. That’s why the M-24’s standard cannon will be replaced with a laser blaster able to fast load and fire off three bursts during lunar warfare.

So, in honor of the silliest day of the year, are tankers ready for a fun weekend of gravity bending tank-on-tank combat in the new “Lunar” mode?
