Salute the Troops Weekend – August 26 to 30

Six Flags salutes service with Salute the Troops weekend. All active military will receive free admission to Six Flags Great Adventure from Aug. 26 through 30. The fun kicks off with Dan + Shay in concert Aug. 26 in the Plymouth Rock Assurance® Arena. The concert takes place at 7 p.m. and is included with theme park admission as part of the MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® Summer Concert Series. For more information, visit www.sixflags.com/greatadventure

 

2016 New Attraction Announcement – September 3

Six Flags Great Adventure and its sister parks throughout North America will announce exciting plans for the 2016 season. Fans of the world’s largest theme park can expect a major addition. A new skyline will take shape in one of the park’s original sections that has remained nearly unchanged for four decades. Information, photos and video will be available at www.sixflags.com/greatadventure. Six Flags Great Adventure will also announce a special offer as it begins selling 2016 Season Passes.

 

Labor Day Weekend – September 5 to 7

Six Flags Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor invite guests to celebrate the last weekend of summer with thrilling coasters, refreshing water slides and family fun. Labor Day weekend is the last chance for guests to experience BATMAN™: The Ride Backwards. The theme park is open 10:30 a.m. through 9 p.m. each day and Hurricane Harbor is open 10:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m. each day.

 

Insane Inflatable 5K Race – September 12

Six Flags Great Adventure hosts its first Insane Inflatable 5K Race Sept. 12. This race, appropriate for all ages and fitness levels, adds giant inflatable obstacles to the 3.1 mile course. Race begins at 8:45 a.m. with waves running through 12 p.m. Discounted theme park admission with registration and race discounts available for Season Pass holders and active Members. Newsboys in Concert – September 12

Six Flags Great Adventure presents Newsboys in concert Sept. 12 in the Plymouth Rock Assurance® Arena. Newsboys are a Christian pop rock band from Queensland, Australia famous for hits like “We Believe,” “He Reigns” and “That’s How You Change the World.” The concert starts at 5 p.m. and is included with theme park admission, Season Pass or active Membership as part of the MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® Summer Concert Series.

 

Fright Fest Blood Drive – September 19

Six Flags Great Adventure and Central Jersey Blood Center partner to host their third annual blood drive at the Six Flags Great Adventure Employment Center. Each guest who attempts to donate blood to the non-profit organization will receive one complimentary theme park ticket valid for the entire season of Fright Fest, weekends through Nov. 1 plus Columbus Day. Fright Fest – September 19, 20, 26, 27

Six Flags Great Adventure unleashes its biggest and scariest Fright Fest® this fall, beginning Sept. 19. The park introduces three new haunts including Big Top Terror 3-D haunted house, plus a new scare zone and terror trail. Fright Fest features nearly two dozen signature Halloween attractions like Trick-or-Treat Trail, Dead Man’s Party, The Awakening, Voodoo Island, The Asylum, Wasteland and The Manor plus the world’s best thrill rides including the new El Diablo looping coaster, El Toro, Kingda Ka and Nitro weekends through November 1 plus Columbus Day. Fright Fest Zombie Auditions – September 23

Scare-actors and support staff are needed to fill remaining positions from the undead who roam the midways to terror trail performers and technicians. No prior acting or scare experience is necessary. Six Flags seeks individuals with a passion for Halloween and scaring. Auditions include several fun acting exercises in a group setting. Zombie auditions take place in the Employment Center. Six Flags Great Adventure Safari Invitational – September 26

The Six Flags Great Adventure Safari Invitational welcomes elementary, middle and high school teams from NJ, NY, PA, DE, MD, VA and CT to participate in this “wild” run through the Safari. The race takes place Saturday, Sept. 26 with heats beginning at 9 a.m. Participants are welcome to attend an award ceremony later in the day at the theme park’s Showcase Theater.
