MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION – July 9, 2013 – Gaijin Entertainment announced that it will support the first truly immersive platform in the history gaming, the Oculus Rift with War Thunder. The Oculus Rift virtual reality platform will transport War Thunder players from their chairs and into World War II in full stereoscopic 3D with a 360 degree panoramic view of the battlefield. Whether leaping in the cockpit and taking to the skies to fight enemies in death defying dogfights, or unleashing hell using ground forces and naval units players will be able to fight simultaneously on the same battlefield in virtual reality thereby creating a full scale immersive World War II theater of war.

“The Oculus Rift is probably the most innovative technological advancement to grace the gaming industry in many years and we are going to take advantage of it. War Thunder is the perfect game for VR because it is in first person and provides an entertaining and intense gaming experience and it deserves to be experienced in stereoscopic 3D with a 360 degree view,” said executive producer of Gaijin Entertainment, Pavel Kulikov.

The PC-version of War Thunder is currently in Open Beta and boasts over 2 million players will implement the Oculus Rift technology into gameplay providing those with development kits to experience the game. In addition to the inclusion of virtual reality to the War Thunder franchise, Gaijin Entertainment is also currently in developing War Thunder for the PlayStation®4 (PS4™) as well as iOS and Android platforms.
