Assault Mode Unlocked For Section 8: Prejudice

Timegate Studios announced today that a brand new online Assault mode for their shooter Section 8 has been unlocked due to the combined powers of the Xbox and PC communities.  Assault mode is a team versus team rush mode where the objective is to capture important control points on the map.  While one team is attacking the other side will be defending their bases from the onslaught coming their way.  The best part of this Assault mode unlock is that it is free to all gamers who own Section 8.

To celebrate the unlocking, Timegate and Microsoft will be hosting a Game with Devs session on the Xbox 360 this Sunday, May 15, from 5 to 8pm Eastern Time.  Find out more about Section 8: Prejudice check out their website.

 

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Release Date

Namco Bandai Games announced today the release date for their upcoming Ace Combat Assault Horizon. Ace Combat Assault Horizon is set for release on October 11th, 2011 in North America for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, with a European release on October 14th.

“ACE COMBAT is a beloved franchise and we’re excited to take the series into a whole new direction with more visceral and fast-paced action,” said Kazutoki Kono, Producer and Executive Director at NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. “Players around the world will find an adventure that will keep them glued to the edge of their seat. They’ll feel their adrenaline pumping with every bullet, every explosion and every near-miss escape.”

Featuring a story written by New York Times bestselling military author, Jim DeFelice, Ace Combat Assault Horizon is set to reinvigorate the franchise by placing the player into the role of a top gun pilot in an international task force. Ace Combat Assault Horizon will take place in real world locations, such as Dubai and Russia, and will also include many types of different aircraft and roles for the player to experience.

Conduit 2 Developer Interview Part 1

SEGA has released the first part in a video interview series with the developers behind the Nintnedo Wii shooter, Conduit 2. In the interview, the developers tackle game mechanics, multiplayer aspects, and a lot more. Conduit 2 picks up right after the first game ends, with Michael Ford following John Adams through a conduit.

City Interactive Announces 2011 E3 Lineup

City Interactive has announced its 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo lineup of games beginning with their highly-anticipated Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 as well as an upcoming arcade air combat titled called Combat Wings: Great Battles of WWII.

City Interactive will be offering developer interviews as well as playable versions of the following titles at E3 2011:

* Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (Xbox/PS3/PC) – Takes the bulls-eye precision of its best-selling predecessor to new and exciting heights.  Powered by the CryENGINE®3 engine, the missions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 are graphically stunning and more challenging as you once again step into the ghillie suit of a special ops sniper to take down the enemy.

SEGA Announces CRUSH3D for the Nintendo 3DS

SEGA of America has announced that they are bringing CRUSH, the 2007 platformer, into the third dimension with CRUSH3D for the Nintendo 3DS platform. The game is due out on September 6th in North America and will allow players to switch back and forth from both 2D and 3D viewpoints in order to solve multiple puzzles over several levels of play.

“CRUSH3D gives all gamers a chance to experience this critically acclaimed concept in full 3D,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing of SEGA West. “With features specifically designed for this exciting new platform, CRUSH3D is right at home on the Nintendo 3DS.”

Our E3 2011 Calendar Thus Far…

GamingShogun here, taking a small moment to post while on my lunch hour. What I have here thus far is our current 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo meeting calendar. We have some really cool stuff setup here, and I am looking-forward to bringing you a ton of previews and video from the various companies we will be meeting with. OnLive Announces Duke Nukem Forever Coming to Streaming Game Service

OnLive has announced that 2K Games upcoming Duke Nukem Forever will be making its debut on the OnLive service beginning June 14th, the same day the game will appear in stores for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC platforms.

“The satirical and action-packed gameplay of the Duke Nukem brand makes it a fantastic fit for next-level, easy-access gaming on the OnLive service,” said OnLive VP of Games & Media John Spinale. “Members can laugh, taunt and quote Duke-isms in real-time as they battle alien invaders stealing Earth’s women. This title is all about laugh-out-loud, engaging action—and we’re excited to bring the ‘King of all shooters’ to our members.”

Additionally, OnLive has stated that anyone who pre-orders the game will receive a coupon for one free OnLive game.

Soulcalibur V Announced with Teaser Trailer

Namco Bandai Games has announced the next in the Soulcalibur series of fighting games. Soulcalibur V is due out in 2012 and picks up 17 years after the events of Soulcalibur IV. It will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

“The SOULCALIBUR® series continues to be one of NAMCO BANDAI Games’ most cherished franchises,” said Carlson Choi, vice president of marketing NAMCO BANDAI Games America.  “SOULCALIBUR V will continue to advance the series’ legacy of white-knuckled weapon-based combat, gorgeous graphics and groundbreaking features that will amaze newcomers and long-time fans alike.”

Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts DLC Screenshots

Bethesda Softworks has released some new screenshots from the upcoming Honest Hearts DLC pack for Fallout New Vegas. Honest Hearts takes players deep into the Mojave as well as Utah’s Zion National Park where they get caught up in a battle between missionaries and someone called the “Burned Man”. Honest Hearts is due out on May 17th, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms.

L.A. Noire Official Launch Trailer

Rockstar Games has released the official launch trailer for their upcoming crime-thriller, L.A. Noire. Due out May 17th, L.A. Noire puts players into the shoes of a cop on the trail of a serial killer in Los Angeles.
