Raven’s Cry Screenshots and Release Date

Karlsruhe, 22 November 2013 – In a joint announcement withReality Pump, the TopWare Interactive AG has announced that the RPG adventure “Raven’s Cry” will be released on 7th May 2014. The screenshots released today depict a Caribbean that’s far removed from the postcards – giving you an insight into the brutal life of a man who leaves only scorched earth in his wake.

When you look into the depths of a chasm for long enough, that chasm will surely look into your depths …

Gloomy yet paradise-like images describe a world full of betrayal, greed and brutality. Accompanied by sinister cutscenes, the thirst for revenge leads the main character into an open, free-roaming world. “Raven’s Cry” is the story of Christopher Raven’s personal vendetta – and never forgetting that bloody vendetta, he still has to find ways to supply himself and his crew with all the necessary resources and information. Following the cry of the raven, he oversteps every moral boundary, drawing a bloody trail through the Caribbean.

Tadeusz Zuber, Head of the Development Team: “The idea for Raven’s Cry gives us the opportunity to create our very own image of the Caribbean and piracy, far removed from all the family idylls. Christopher is tormented by his own demons and external threats – and our goal is to make these realistic enough to be actually ‘felt’ by the player. Christopher is a man trapped in the chains of his own demons – and the only way to break these chains, it seems, is the path of violence and revenge which he has chosen.”

RPG elements with hook

“Raven’s Cry” offers various RPG elements, so there will be a complex game skill system and modifications for all the ships in the game, which can be designed to influence the reputation of the individual sailor with the groups and enemies in the Caribbean. Christopher himself will continue to evolve in the course of the story, unlocking new abilities and weapons. His characteristic hook – as seen in the images – plays a vital role, especially in brutal close combat. Regardless of where Christopher’s path leads him to obtain information or money, he will never become a shimmering hero who coincidentally saves the world. For him there’s only one way out of his suffering and that is death … either his own life or the lives of his enemies. The people around him are either for or against him.

“It was important for us to drive Christopher’s sinister story on in a way that would enthrall players – but to give them more role-playing elements at the same time. He will constantly develop his character, his ships and his crew throughout the game and adapt it to his own personal style, which is somewhere between “Bad Ass and Bad Guy”, says Alexandra Constandache, CEO at TopWare.

Raven’s Cry Changes Hands to Reality Pump Studios

Karlsruhe, Germany August 27th 2013 – TopWare Interactive announced at this year’s gamescom in Cologne that the gritty Pirate Action Adventure “Raven’s Cry” has been handed to Polish developer Reality Pump Studios. Well known for the Earth and Two Worlds series, Reality Pump brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the project, which is set for release at the end of the year.

The game has been delayed since it was first shown to the media last year, and after analysing the game’s development, TopWare made the tough decision to reorganize the project. The core storyline and dark setting of the game will remain untouched, but additional features and a new open world will be implemented by the Polish team. In addition, Topware has kept a close eye on message boards and early feedback, and will be including a few interesting tweaks and features requested by pirate fans.

“Raven’s Cry” is a mature third person action adventure title that takes players to the beautiful but deadly Caribbean islands in the 16th century. Besides its dark parable on revenge, Raven’s Cry offers fierce, eclectic naval battles and a now free to explore open world as the main character Christopher Raven carves a bloody swath of terror on both land and sea, leaving no moral boundary uncrossed on his hunt for Captain Neville and his brutal band of pirates. An economic system includes gaining gold through looting enemy ships crippled in battle, in addition to piracy, smuggling and treasure hunting. Go straight for the jugular in the main quest, or take your time and tackle the plethora of side-quests as you earn gold to hire and maintain a crew to pilot your pirate vessel. Christopher will need every advantage he can get if he is going to get his revenge and find peace for his tortured soul.

Alexandra Constandache CEO at TopWare Interactive: “Raven’s Cry has had our entire company excited from day one, and we can’t wait for the finished product. Sadly, production hasn’t moved forward in the way we wanted, so we had to make the tough decision to hand it over to the veterans at Reality Pump. Reality Pump has worked with us for twenty years on several games, including fan-favorite Two Worlds II. The experience the team gained while making the Two Worlds games has proven to be invaluable to their work on Raven’s Cry. We are looking forward to releasing a game that is not only entertaining, but also more than the typical “hero who saves the world” tale. The positive feedback we received at this year’s gamescom proved to us that we have made the right decision with this change, and to put it in Raven’s Cry terms, we are excited to finally reach the port we’ve set sail for.”

Iron Sky: Invasion Announced

Karlsruhe, Germany, September 5th 2012 – Award winning  multi-platinum selling, game developer, Reality Pump (Earth 2150, Two Worlds 2, etc.), is developing the official Iron Sky video game “Iron Sky: Invasion,” which will release in November on PC, PlayStation® 3 and Xbox 360™. Iron Sky is a dark, comedic, science-fiction film about Moon Nazis invading earth, which premiered with huge fanfare earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festivals. Iron Sky soon became one of the most spoken-of independent films of the year, and is certain to reach cult classic status, in part, due to its brassy humor, classic satire, and amazing visual effects.

“Iron Sky: Invasion” puts the player in the pilot seat of defending Earth from a sudden Nazi invasion – from space. The player has at their disposal a variety of experimental, secretly manufactured space fighters, and are tasked with keeping these Moon Nazis off our beloved Planet Earth. “Iron Sky: Invasion” will bear the major underlying theme of politics: everything, even defending your planet from“luna-r-tic” villains, requires skillful political maneuvers. You will need to know who you are fighting for, whose boots you are stepping on, and choose your friends, or more importantly, enemies carefully.

“We wanted to create a space simulation game blending political and tactical components, with the added absurdity of Moon Nazi humor”, says developer, Miroslav Dymek. “We wanted to bring back Space fighter-style gameplay, and knew from the very beginning the world of Iron Sky would be a perfect match.”

“Iron Sky: Invasion” will utilize technology developed by Reality Pump Studios showcasing beautiful graphics and high-speed battle sequences. The Grace2 engine allows photorealistic renderings of hundreds of space ships, advanced destruction physics and sophisticated AI for piloting spacecraft. Additionally, Grace2 will show the game in stereoscopic 3D for all players with 3D TV’s and monitors.

Reality Pump has been developing “Iron Sky: Invasion” in close connection with the filmmakers, who have been helping tie both the visuals and storyline tightly into the Iron Sky universe. Jussi Lehtiniemi from Troll VFX, CG-company responsible for all the visual effects of Iron Sky, has captured space ship models directly from the film – the space Zeppelins, the Nazi invasion fleet, and the Earth fleet – as well as creating additional ship designs well suited to the Iron Sky universe.

“I’ve always known that Iron Sky needed a proper video game around the franchise, one where the whole complexity of the world of Iron Sky could be examined,” says director Timo Vuorensola, who admits being an avid gamer himself. “I’m happy to announce Reality Pump’s involvement, as the world of Iron Sky – one we’ve cherished and nurtured for years – is now in the capable hands of an experienced, quality-driven game studio.”

Topware Interactive’s Iron Sky: Invasion will arrive in stores, steam and other outlets on November 30th  2012

– We come in peace

Sacrilegium Announced from TopWare Interactive

Karlsruhe, Germany, June 6, 2012 – Now the cat is out of the bag: The German Publisher TopWare Interactive announced at E3 in Los Angeles that “Sacrilegium” will be the next title from the company owned developer – Reality Pump Studios. The in-house development team that’s responsible for creating many successful franchises such as the “Two Worlds” titles, or the acclaimed “Earth” series, is looking to revive and renew the survival horror genre in terms of story and atmosphere, as well as in the gameplay and level design, as they look to set the new standards.

The story is about Alex, a 20-year Californian – smart, friendly and independent. She’s a college student that while fully aware of her breathtaking beauty, she never is looking to use it to her advantage. Keeping in shape with combat and self-defense training, she’s honed specific martial art skills that will come to her aid during her perilous journey through the province of “Sacrilegium”. Being the adventurous type, she jumps head first into a maelstrom of events, descending with her friends into a world beyond the known reality. The complex and multifaceted action drives the young heroine half around the globe, from the foggy banks of San Francisco to the remotest corners of Europe. She encounters a large array of dangerous and mysterious monstrosities along the way, including the enigmatic Moroi – a creature most resembling a vampire, but able to eat a vampire for breakfast. Alex must utilize all of her skills and survival instincts, employing her knowledge and heart to survive and to save her soul from certain corruption. Sacrificing her own mortality for the safety of her friends, Alex discovers more than she ever bargained for on the road to truth and salvation, with unforeseen and unnatural twists and secrets revealed, right up until the very end.

“Sacrilegium” is realized on the new GRACE 2 engine (Graphics Rendition And Creation Engine), which was also developed by Reality Pump Studios. The predecessor of this engine was already the basis for “Two Worlds 2” and it attributed largely to the success of the title. But Reality Pump did not rest on these laurels, but once again pushed the properties of the program forward. The first pictures of the results will be available very soon, with the exact features of this engine being presented at a later date. It’s no exaggeration to say that the results of the GRACE 2 Engine, will leave players awestruck.

“It pleased us”, said Miroslaw Dymek, CEO of Reality Pump Studios, “that we succeeded to develop the GRACE 2 engine in a way, that enables us to present models and landscapes that make photos look like charcoal drawings compared to the game. After all the years that we ‘ve dealt with the appearance of medieval stories, it was time to pool the experience acquired and integrate that into a modern action adventure. We’ve definitely achieved that with “Sacrilegium”.

TopWare Interactive Reveals E3 Showcase

Karlsruhe, Germany, June 5, 2012 – TopWare Interactive announces the lineup for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, focusing on the two potential blockbusters “Raven’s Cry” and the newest title from in-house developer Reality Pump. TopWare interactive shows previously unpublished photographs and videos for all the games and allows the first insight into the breathtaking worlds the year’s lineup.

These titles are presented by TopWare Interactive at E3 today:

Raven’s Cry

“Raven’s Cry” is an Action-Adventure title that is realized under the direction of TopWare Interactive and the Finnish Studio, Octane Games. The game traces in detail the revenge story of Christopher Raven during the 17th century. As a child, Raven had to watch his family being slaughtered by pirates, where as an adult he feels not only his passion for vengeance, but the physical pain endured as well, a result of the attack when his left hand was completely severed. Raven swore to himself, that he would hunt down and kill every soul involved on that fateful day, whether his soul would be corrupted or not.

“Raven’s Cry” is a game that also lays emphasis on the character’s past, represented through flashbacks of Christopher Raven’s life. Also allowing the player to choose his path of vengeance, decisions play a major role in the fun factor of this already acclaimed title. Clearly showing that life as a pirate, has very little to do with the glorified view Hollywood has conveyed of the 17th century. The game will be released for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 in 4th quarter of 2012.

The new Reality Pump game

On Monday, the 4th June 2012, the new title of the developer Reality Pump will be presented at the E3. The Polish software company has earned an excellent reputation with the “Earth” series and the “Two Worlds” franchise worldwide, and will show the industry that the new in-house GRACE 2 engine has the ability to be superior to all other engines currently on the market.

There will be a separate press release on the announcement at E3.

Planets Under Attack

The Russian developer Targem games (known for “Battle vs. Chess”) has a very simple goal in mind, to develop a strategy game that allows immediate entry into the genre, where anyone can play whether you’re familiar or not, anyone who is able to use a mouse. The project, which was first announced under the working title “Planets at War,” is now almost ready for the market, and anyone who has played is reporting it’s non-stop addictiveness. Anyone can play it, even if you’ve never sampled the genre before, unlike past strategy titles that take tons of time and extreme effort to learn. Those times will be a thing of the past with the release of “Planet Under Attack”.

The goal of the game is to conquer planets and fulfill certain tasks. To do so, a certain amount of space ships can be released to do their duty with a mouse click, to attack neutral or enemy stars, commanding them to attack, occupy and defend at the players will. New areas can be managed with another simple click of the mouse, as the new planets provide resources (in the form of space vehicles and money) to the conqueror. A campaign through the galaxy begins, as “Planet under Attack” enables both singleplayer, LAN or online-mode. The multilingual (EFIGS) game will be released in July 2012 for PC, Mac, Xbox 360 Live and PlayStation 3 Network.

Check vs. Mate

Now available on the American market is “Check vs. Mate”, presently known in Germany as “Battle vs. Chess”. Finally the famous strategy game is brought to the United States with this exciting, innovative and visually stimulating translation of the mother of all strategy games – Chess. The most successful game in history is finally lifted onto the state-of-the-art level of computer gaming technology. Based on the world famous “Fritz!” chess algorithms by ChessBase, “Check vs. Mate” is a game created with lively animated figures on lovingly designed battlefields in the eternal struggle of order versus chaos. The game will soon be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, NDS, Wii, PSP and iOS.

Dream Pinball 3D II

In 2006 “Dream Pinball 3D” was the first game from the Pinball simulation series, with the press enthusiastically rating the game consistently at the 80% mark. Trademark of the series, developer A.S.K. Homework provides sophisticated gameplay with ballistic characteristics that are based in reality. Realistic dynamics and fixed camera angles similar mimicking actual pinball tables, guarantee a gaming experience that ascends technology and revives a time before gaming was digital.

The successor “Dream Pinball 3D II” will be published in 2012 and will guarantee the realistic appearance, but of course boasting all new 3D graphics and physics engine. Additionally, there are other challenges added, including the mesmerizing labyrinth, which was incorporated into the game simply as a bonus. All eight new tables can be played in their own special way, and promise long lasting fun, with the multiplayer rounding off an enjoyable and successful gaming experience. “Dream Pinball 3D II” appears in 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, NDS, Wii, PSP and iOS.

Dream Pinball 3D (iOS)

In addition to the successor for the older “Dream Pinball 3D” an implementation of the original for the iOS platform is on its way as well. The iPad-, iPhone and iPad Touch users no longer need to miss out on the legendary fun. With four extra tables for the Apple platform, A.S.K. Homework now has added even more realistic gameplay. The game is in the last stage of development and is to be released later this year.

As already announced, TopWare Interactive will also be publishing “A-men” (short for Army men) for Sony’s new handheld console – the PlayStation Vita. The development studio Bloober Team, wakes a genre that has inexplicably been in a deep sleep for years now, but whose best-selling games have inspired players of all generations. “A-men” is a strategy game built for the most modern technology of mobile gaming, while still immersing the player with carefully designed levels to entice and inspire the most tactical approach possible.

The player takes control of teams up to five men, the team members identified by their vastly different personalities and abilities. The heroes must complete various tasks over several missions, whether in factory buildings or in the great outdoors. All characters, whether be the Spy, the Muscle Man, the Commando, the Mechanic or the Soldier can be altered in the game, making “A-men” also have a touch of character development. “A-men” appears exclusively for the PlayStation Vita in 2012.
