HAMBURG, Germany — Sept. 4, 2019 — Daedalic Entertainment’s space exploration RPG The Long Journey Home releases today on Nintendo Switch. Nintendo players can finally join the award-winning game’s rag-tag crew on an adventure of danger and discovery, already available for PC, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.
When humanity’s first FTL jump goes wrong, it strands your group of explorers on the other side ofthe galaxy from Earth. With your spacecraft barely holding together and resources dwindling, it’s up to you to choose your crew, explore the vastness of space, deal with alien races and find a way to return home.
In this procedurally generated experience, each playthrough is unique and only shows you a small part of The Long Journey Home universe. In any playthrough, you’ll meet at least four different alien races out of a large pool of possible races in various combinations, and it’s up to you to decide how to deal with them – peacefully or through other means.
Navigating your ship across an open galaxy won’t be an easy challenge, thanks to the constant danger of being sucked into black holes, attacked by alien warships and more. Each decision counts: landing on strange planets might give you something with which to survive, but it might also damage your ship and endanger your crewmates. You’ll need to carefully consider your options and make smart choices to have a hope of making it back home one day.

Seattle, WA, August 30, 2019 – At Gearbox’s Main Theater Show at PAX West there was another announcement for a major third installment to a critically acclaimed franchise. Gearbox Publishing together with Blackbird Interactive (BBI) announced that Homeworld 3 is now in pre-production 20 years after the first installment. They are kicking off the production process through a Fig campaign with a $1 funding goal, allowing longtime Homeworld fans to invest and participate in the success of the title.
Homeworld 3 will be a true sequel to the legendary space-faring RTS. Blackbird Interactive takes the helm on development, returning the series to its roots with a gripping continuation of the story, fully 3D combat, and the classic RTS elements you expect. In this process, they will be further supported by the veterans of Homeworld Remastered Collection at Gearbox Publishing.
“Homeworld 3 is the last word in epic space combat,” says Rob Cunningham, CEO of BBI. “It will capture the mood and tone of Homeworld and deliver it in an exactly expected and juicy, lovely way. There will be an extension of the story that’s totally satisfying with some interesting twists and turns, and locations that I think will blow some minds and resonate with existing fans and new fans alike.”
The project is in its early stages with only a few months into pre-production. The campaign will allow longtime Homeworld fans to become investors in Fig and participate in the game’s future success. Additionally, investments and pledges will provide a chance to tell the developers what they expect of Homeworld 3 via a backer-only survey. This survey would include things such as its features, priorities, and even what the collector’s edition will include.
“It’s a unique experience that only Fig can offer and we’re excited for the most open development process in both Blackbird’s and Gearbox’s history,” says Steve Gibson, head of Gearbox Publishing. “You don’t just get the game. You get a chance to profit from the financial success too. If you’re not interested in that, no worries. We’ll see you at launch later down the line.”
The Fig campaign will last 30 days with a goal of a single, solitary US dollar. The Fig campaign will offer fans the opportunity to invest or pre-order the game with collectibles.
Moenchengladbach/Germany, August 30, 2019 – The success story continues: With Fishing: North Atlantic, astragon Entertainment and developer Misc Games will release a successor to the simulation hit Fishing: Barents Sea in 2020. Lots of new features, fish species, fishing methods and, of course, ships are set to delight fishery fans around the globe. As the game’s title already suggests, players will also be able to discover a brand-new setting: The Canadian province of Nova Scotia and the North Atlantic Ocean will be offering an exciting backdrop for even more extensive fishing expeditions. Another interesting news for players is the cooperation of Misc Games with the UK software studio Simul Software. Misc Games will use the already well-known weather renderer trueSKY from Simul for Fishing: North Atlantic, but also their realistic ocean renderer Volumetric Water, which is currently still in development.
While the open source ocean simulation OceanProject used in Fishing: Barents Sea reproduced the waves of the Barents Sea only as adjustable sine curves, Volumetric Water will be able to calculate the waves by taking the in-game wind direction and intensity into account, which will result in a more realistic water behaviour including wave breaking. Moreover, the new water shader provides natural transparency and light reflections on the water surface.
Additionally, Misc Games plans to develop a completely new buoyancy algorithm for Fishing: North Atlantic to ensure realistic buoyancy for every ship in the game. Fans can also look forward to seeing and steering lots of new ships and boats which will come in a varied mix of different sizes, shapes and functions.
Detailed particle effects will display water displacement, water turbulences as well as wake and therefore ensure that Fishing: North Atlantic will provide an immersive fishing simulation experience.
Fishing: North Atlantic will be released 2020. More information about platforms, features and more to follow soon.
