Beyond Contact Leaving Early Access

PLAION and Australian developer Playcorp Studios invite you to an epic journey as Beyond Contact leaves Early Access and embarks on its official Version 1.0 launch.

Following a successful Early Access period where Playcorp collaborated closely with an enthusiastic and dedicated community of players who provided feedback to enhance the game’s features, version 1.0 of Beyond Contact is now available worldwide on Steam.

Explore a rich and vibrant alien universe with engaging and varied gameplay, strategic crafting mechanics, and captivating battles with the Corrupted, Beyond Contact’s monstrous foes.

Beyond Contact is an innovative sci-fi survival crafting game that gives players a top-down view of the action inspired by retro science-fiction comics.

The game offers players the option to engage in a narrative-driven Story Mode or an open-ended Conquest Mode. Influenced by contemporary sci-fi films, players will explore numerous moral dilemmas as they explore Beyond Contact’s narratives and objectives.

Though they’re a stranger in a strange land, players in Beyond Contact will be able to bend the world around them to their will thanks to a robust system of research and crafting. Allowing them to create a wide variety of tools, weapons, gadgets, and structures to aid in their survival, players will be able to change the world as they see fit with habitat building and farming. For players who prefer a more casual pace, the game offers a range of game customization settings.

“We are thrilled to release Beyond Contact Version 1.0, a game that our talented team has poured their hearts and souls into,” said Chris Mosely, CEO of Playcorp Studios. “We hope players will see the love and passion put into it from a team that truly cares. We have big plans for the game, and we hope to continue to bring new and exciting experiences to our players.”

Key features added for the Beyond Contact Version 1.0 release:

  • Conquest Mode: Join the fight for control of the planet Ketern in Beyond Contact’s new Conquest Mode. This free-form survival experience offers endless gameplay, huge base-building opportunities, and epic battles against formidable Corrupted hordes.
  • Updated Story Mode: Polished through collaboration with the dedicated community, Beyond Contact’s story immerses players in an epic journey of exploration and discovery where they fight to save an entire civilization and planet from annihilation.
  • New unique playable characters: A diverse cast of new characters, each with their own unique skills, abilities, and equipment are now available for players to pick from. Quinn is a versatile generalist, Kangah a fierce warrior, and Professor Zaine an expert builder. New characters are also being created and will be added post-launch.
  • New farming mechanics: Create genetically modified plants, build farms inside protective habitats, and optimize yields to secure your survival in an unforgiving world.
  • All new base construction & customization system: With the new Habitat system, you can build the ultimate survival sanctuary and take your base-building creativity to the next level.
  • Enhanced multiplayer features: Work cooperatively with other players to succeed. Each player can use a character with unique abilities, skills, and tools. Work together to complete shared research and objectives, eventually making Beyond Contact’s hostile world your own.

Beyond Contact Version 1.0 is available now for PC on Steam for $19.99.

Hyperviolent Release Date Trailer

Fulqrum Publishing and Terminist Arcade today announce that the gloriously violent, old-school shooter HYPERVIOLENT will launch into PC Early Access on April 6 via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com.

Inspired by classic sprite-based 3D games from the 90s, HYPERVIOLENT sees players stranded on Commodus Asteroid 27-C, a remote asteroid-based mining colony clenched in the jaws of violence. Stranded and surrounded by monstrous foes, they must take the violence to the next level, obliterating their foes as they seek an answer to the madness engulfing the colony, and uncover the secrets of the evil hidden deep within the dark, claustrophobic mines of the asteroid.

HYPERVIOLENT features an extensive array of guns and melee weapons that can be dual-wielded in nearly endless combinations. However, players are far from an invincible action hero; careful resource management and a keen eye are paramount to survival, for enemies can – and will – ambush them when they least expect it.

During the Early Access period, HYPERVIOLENT’s single-player campaign will grow, adding segments featuring completely different gameplay experiences, and upon full release, the game will introduce Multiplayer support for up to 30 players alongside a variety of thrilling game modes.
At launch players can experience the first five intensely, atmospheric levels (approximately 4-5 hours of gameplay), and wield 12 weapons as they take on ten varied enemy types and two challenging boss encounters.

The current planned Early Access roadmap is as follows:

Early Access Update #1

  • Level 6
  • Low Gravity mechanic
  • 4 new weapons
  • 2 new enemies
  • 1 new boss
  • Neural-Implant Possession Mechanic

Early Access Update #2

  • Level 7
  • 2 new weapons
  • 4 new enemies
  • 6 Degrees of Freedom spaceship flying mechanic, including some sections where the player may leave their ship for a period of time.

Full Release

  • Levels 8 – 11
  • 6 new weapons
  • Full localization
  • Coop multiplayer for up to 4 players
  • PvP multiplayer modes
  • Various optimization and quality of life improvements

HYPERVIOLENT FEATURES

  • Gorgeous 3D / Pixel Hybrid Explore the rich environments of the I.E.C. Commodus station and paint them with viscera, rendered in a combination of classic low-poly 3D, and hand-crafted 1990s pixel art aesthetic.
  • Intense horror atmosphere Feel the dread of exploring the dark, claustrophobic corridors of an asteroid mine, stranded deep in space. Nobody can help you, nobody can save you, nobody can hear you scream.
  • Brutal combat Dual-wield more than 20 unique ranged and melee weapons to obliterate insane and monstrous enemies, but don’t get cocky – manage your resources, you don’t want to run out of ammo in a bossfight…
  • RPG / FPS mechanics Manage your inventory, upgrade weapons, interact with NPCs, & peruse through computer data logs to further your mission in this exciting, authentically nostalgic experience.
  • Use the environment to your advantage Utilise switches, computer terminals, keycards & other control mechanisms to navigate the labyrinthian station and manipulate your environment.

HYPERVIOLENT will launch into PC Early Access on April 6 via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com. Wishlist it today.

Midnight Ghost Hunt Celebrates 1st Birthday

Today Vaulted Sky Games and Coffee Stain, publisher of Valheim, Deep Rock Galactic and Goat Simulator, are excited to celebrate the first anniversary of Midnight Ghost Hunt’s release with its latest update, filled with a slew of party props and quality of life changes. With a 66% off sale and Free Weekend as well, now is the perfect time to join the hunt!

Following the addition of host migration capabilities, this update marks the long-awaited arrival of dedicated server support. Whilst peer-to-peer will still be an option, players can also now choose between user hosted servers or the “official” 24/7 dedicated servers run by the development team across 3 regions, for more stability and improved performance.

Whether Ghost or Hunter, there’s no escaping the merriment! All the maps have been adorned with party decorations for this very special occasion, making the usual hide and seek chaos of this ultimate prop hunt feel eerily cheery. Amongst the litter of gifts are the new Disruptor Hunter skin, perfect for close-quarters brawling, and the spooky new Returned Ghost skin, which takes on the form of a vengeful dead Hunter.

But what’s a birthday without cake? Ghosts can possess the new chomping birthday cake Hero Prop to chomp on Hunters and spit them out, dealing damage as they go. In another first, birthday-themed weapon and gadget skins are now available! Celebrations are sure to go off with a bang, whether players are gifting a C4 present or lobbing a cupcake grenade.

As a birthday surprise to the community, Midnight Ghost Hunt’s ambient soundtrack, by composer-producer duo Ghostwood Empire, is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and other streaming services. All eleven tracks can also be bought via the game’s Steam page, which include some additional exclusive recordings!

“I can’t believe how this year has flown by, and we couldn’t have made Midnight Ghost Hunt what it is today without all of the feedback we’ve received during Early Access,” said Sam Malone, Midnight Ghost Hunt Creator and Lead Developer. “Every update and addition has been driven by the players, and I’m so proud of the game we have now as a result.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to be celebrating the first anniversary of Midnight Ghost Hunt,” said Robin Cederholm, Executive Producer at Coffee Stain Publishing. “We are so grateful for the amazing community that’s built around the game and we want to thank you all for your support as the game has grown!”

Midnight Ghost Hunt launched into Steam Early Access one year ago to universal acclaim and is available on Steam Early Access for $19.99, but players can put their hide-and-seek skills to the test with the Free Weekend until April 3rd and join the hunt for two thirds off until April 6th!

The Midnight Ghost Hunt soundtrack is available to purchase here, and stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and more.

Kvark Announcement Trailer

It’s the late 80s in the Post-Soviet Czech Republic. Times are tough. People are struggling to find a job that pays well enough to put food on the table. So when a job opportunity arrives to start working for Kvark – a pure nuclear energy company looking for miners to work in the uranium mines, you don’t think twice. It’s hard, it’s dangerous, and yet, thanks to Kvark’s sophisticated propaganda, there are countless applicants for such demanding work. So you are overjoyed when, finally, after a successful interview, you are taken underground as a new employee…

Add the game to your Steam wishlist (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2319390/Kvark/) to follow its development.

The recruitment went well, but the happy thrill didn’t last, and it quickly turned into fear upon waking up alone, locked in a dark cell. The last thing you remember is the onboarding at reception. Now you are awakened by the sound of nearby explosions and shouting. Confused by not only the surrounding chaos, but also the drastic change in surroundings, you struggle to grasp the situation. All the cells are open and those once locked within are long gone. Seems like you’re the last prisoner in this terrifying facility.

How did you end up in this mess? Why did everybody escape? What the hell is going on? Those are but a few questions ringing in your head louder than the sirens and emergency calls around you.

MotoGP 23 Official Announcement Trailer

Milestone and Dorna Sports S.L. are pleased to announce the upcoming release of MotoGP™23. Featuring all the official riders and tracks of the 2023 Season for the MotoGP™, Moto2™, Moto3™, and MotoE™ categories, the new chapter of the historic franchise will be available on June 8, 2023, on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™, and Steam.

Among the most important novelties of MotoGP™23 is the design of the career mode, conceived to give players the freedom to build their own journey to becoming a two-wheel legend. Indeed, the introduction of turning points will affect career paths based on the performance achieved and the decisions made by each player. After debuting in the final part of a Moto3™ season, it will be possible to move faster through the different classes depending on the results obtained; however, finding a contract will not be easy, as each team will only have two spots and players will have to compete with the official riders to take their place. Turning points will also influence bike development during the seasonal tests, with dedicated challenges to speed up evolution. Importantly, this year rivalries will not be confined to the track; for the first time ever, MotoGP™23 will also feature a social network to interact with riders, teams, and manufacturers. Just like in real life, this will be the place to make friends but also to bother rivals, as the AI will behave differently during races also based on the way players act on the social network.

Strongly requested by the community, two brand-new features will bring the simulation to a whole new level of realism. Thanks to the introduction of Dynamic Weather, a dry race can now quickly turn into a wet mayhem, where skills and strategy can make the difference. The race can thus be declared a Flag-to-Flag* race with the possibility to return to the pit-lane and switch bikes to gain a strategic advantage. The Advanced AI will finally grant the in-track behavior of riders to be more coherent with their real-life racing style, as each rider will have a unique personality that will directly affect his actions during the race.

Meeting both hardcore gamers and rookies’ needs, new riding aids for brakes, acceleration, and handling will deliver a gaming experience that is both approachable and ambitious so that everyone can feel the thrills of the real MotoGP™, regardless of the initial skill level. Also, the acclaimed MotoGP™ Academy is back to help players learn the basics or perfect their style with dedicated training sessions.

MotoGP™23 will also offer many multiplayer options, both on and offline. For the first time, cross-play** will allow racing with other players regardless of the platform and console generation, whereas the new Ranked Races will ensure fair fights by getting players of the same rank to compete with each other. And the 2-player local split-screen* is back to let players challenge their friends side by side on the couch.

Finally, the helmet, sticker, racing number, and butt patch graphic editors will allow players to show off their style making their journey into MotoGP™ even more unique.
