The Texas Chain Saw Massacre takes place in the months leading up to the events of the original 1974 film, and features authentic recreations of the locations, characters, and imagery of the source material. Players control either the Victims or members of the Slaughter Family in a vicious game of 3v4 cat-and-mouse that takes the tension and suspense of the film and repurposes it into thrilling, competitive action. The Victims and the Slaughter Family must both utilize their unique abilities to come out on top, as the former use stealth and smarts to escape their fearsome tormentors, while each member of the Slaughter Family wields brutal and murderous attacks to hunt their prey.

Black Salt Games and Team17 Digital have today released a new, free update to the critically-acclaimed sinister fishing adventure DREDGE, which introduces additional deep-sea aberrations, wildlife events, a new monster to inflict trepidation into any fisherperson, and two new modes to the game: Passive Mode and Photo Mode.

The addition of a photo mode has been a regularly requested feature since DREDGE launched on 30th March, but like the game, all isn’t as it seems. Before players can spot nautical life through a lens and visually document their findings on the open sea – the Eldritch horrors that surround the area, or wildlife events like schools of dolphins off the port bow – they’ll first have to fish for a piece of equipment and exchange it with a new islander, a photographer, for the new device.
Meanwhile, the game’s new ‘Passive’ mode is perfect for those cosy gamers who want to avoid the biggest nasties in DREDGE and lean into the game’s laid back fishing gameplay while avoiding the more sinister side of the adventure. The new update also introduces a further 10 aberrations ready to be caught, together with their less frightful fishy counterparts, as well as new wildlife events to observe, including a graceful whale shark – the largest living nonmammalian vertebrate – and pods of orca whales. Finally, a new monster from the deep has also been added, sure to ‘terror-ray-se’ even the hardiest of fishing vessels.

Free Scenario System with Multiple Endings – Players must search and battle through different events to unravel the “Yamada” conspiracy and get to the truth. However, this story does not follow one set scenario, but is experienced non-linearly through a concept of time passing over a four-day period. This includes events scattered throughout the map, where events played during the first three in-game days will dictate events on the final fourth day and change game endings.
Item Collection & Special Abilities – While unraveling the story, visit the game’s “convenience stores” where recovery items can be purchased, “public baths” where HP (stamina) and SP (willpower) can be recovered, and “thrift stores” to buy equipment with special abilities. In addition, Special Moves have evolved to be more spectacular, while experience gained in battle can be used to enhance your status!
New Prequel Story Mode – “Cold-Blooded Hardcore Yamada-kun” – Enjoy an additional mode that can be played after clearing the main story mode (“Hot Blooded Story”). Take control of evil big boss “Yamada” and play the prequel to the incident. How did “Yamada” expand his ambitions? And what is his purpose? Experience the dark machinations behind the incident.
