Paradox Interactive today released Shadows of the Shroud, a new expansion for their hit sci-fi grand strategy game Stellaris. Developed in collaboration with Abrakam, the expansion challenges players to master new psionic traditions, interact with ancient, mind-bending powers, and lead their civilization on a transcendent path. Available now on PC, Shadows of the Shroud features a remaster of the Psionic Ascension, a revamped End of the Cycle, three new origins, and six new civics, among other additions.

The “TRON: Ares” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack featuring all original music by Nine Inch Nails was released today via Interscope Records. The soundtrack for “TRON: Ares,” the third installment of Disney’s groundbreaking “TRON” franchise releasing in U.S. theaters Oct. 10, stands among Nine Inch Nails’ most compelling albums as analog soul and digital dread collide. Humming with menace, melancholy and momentum, it marks the first-ever film score by the pioneering band under their Nine Inch Nails moniker, although bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed 20 scores under their own names, winning two Oscars®, three Golden Globes®, a GRAMMY® and an Emmy® in the process.

As a work by Nine Inch Nails, “TRON: Ares” is a bracing departure from their previous film scores. The album erupts with the band’s full force, breaking boundaries and redefining what music in film can be with pulsating synths, distorted textures and haunting melodies. CULTIC Launches Chapter Two Expansion DLC Today

The Overwhelmingly Positive-rated retro horror-shooter CULTIC, developed by Jasozz Games and published by Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms label, has today launched its Chapter Two story expansion DLC, available now on Steam for $9.99 USD / €9.75 EUR / £8.50 GBP!

Awakening in the cold, dark morgue beneath the besieged police station, you find yourself in the middle of a cult-controlled New Grandewel, with corpses littering the streets, flames billowing from the windows of torched buildings, and cultists infesting every inch of the city you once protected. Fight your way through all-new maps in Chapter Two – a full expansion campaign boasting larger, more detailed maps, new weapons and enemies, and more secrets and surprises to discover.

Chapter Two continues and concludes the story from Chapter One, and players can expect more of CULTIC’s intense, gritty, open-ended combat, enhanced with new mechanics and refinements. CULTIC’s signature weapon arsenal returns, with the inclusion of Interlude’s Revolver and SASG, which players can freely alternate with the lever-action and sawed-off. The revamped Dodge system, along with the new Tackle mechanic, allows players to get up close and play aggressively, quickly zipping out of harm’s way or using that burst of speed to slam into enemies, stunning them and interrupting their attacks for some much-needed breathing room to reload and strike back.

Players can also utilize new “temporary weapons” such as the mounted machinegun or bazooka to dish out massive damage, adding to the roster of ways the player can weaponize the environment against their foes. Tower Shields have also received a significant overhaul, allowing them to be carried around the map much more easily, planted in the ground for temporary cover, used to run-and-gun with one-handed weapons, or launched into an enemy’s face with a well-timed kick or tackle.

To give players even more ways to enjoy these combat enhancements, Chapter Two includes three new Survival Maps, as well, featuring some of the best arenas from the new chapter to test your skills and fight against waves of enemies, including the new additions to the cult’s roster!

On top of these gameplay improvements, the game has received a significant amount of optimizations which not only allow for even larger, more densely populated maps with more detailed lighting, but also improve performance for existing maps, as well. These adjustments are all retroactive to Chapter One, as the “2.0 Update” is now also available, allowing all CULTIC players to enjoy these optimizations and gameplay updates even if they haven’t picked up the DLC yet. Chapter One has also received a full polishing pass, as well as an overhaul of some of the visuals and decor on the maps.

Critical Role, a leader in storytelling and world building, today officially released the trailer for Campaign 4, the highly anticipated next chapter in its flagship series. Premiering Thursday, October 2, the new campaign will introduce a new world, a new cast featuring a rotating tables format, and, for the first time in Critical Role’s core campaign, a brand new Game Master.

After three beloved campaigns set in the fantasy world of Exandria featuring the stories of Vox Machina (Campaign 1), The Mighty Nein (Campaign 2), and Bells Hells (Campaign 3), Critical Role is making a bold leap to an entirely new world called Aramán, marking a major evolution for the franchise. This campaign will also follow a stellar extended cast of players including Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, Luis Carazo, Robbie Daymond, Aabria Iyengar, Whitney Moore, and Alexander Ward, with Brennan Lee Mulligan weaving this new saga as Game Master.

Using the updated 2024 rules for Dungeons & Dragons, mixed with some homebrew elements from renowned creatives Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford, Campaign 4 sets the stage for a world on the brink. A hero to many, and enemy to some, when Thjazi Fang is marked for execution, various figures from across his remarkable life unite to uncover the truth behind his grim fate.

Against this backdrop, the cast will traverse the new world of Aramán in a West Marches-style approach to gameplay where the story unfolds through the perspectives of three distinct rotating tables: the valiant Soldiers, the vigorous Seekers, and the veiled Schemers. As their paths converge, we’ll dive deeper into Aramán, a world of wonder with sorcery stemming from the graveyard of the gods and carrying forward the spirit of epic sagas reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.

In a land still suffering from the fallout of dead gods and living in the shadow of a tumultuous rebellion, these disparate people will come together across the fractured world of Aramán and connect in ways they never imagined. 10 Hours for 10 Years of World of Warships
