DreadXP to Publish Heartworm in 2025

DreadXP — one of the most recognized horror video game publishers in the industry — recently announced that it has acquired the publishing rights for Heartworm, a retro psychological survival horror game that pays tribute to the low-fidelity look and feel of ‘90s genre classics Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Dino Crisis.

From developer Vincent Adinolfi, Heartworm is a nostalgia-wrapped nightmare about one girl’s battle with grief and the otherworldly manifestations that may hold the key to the afterlife. Players will pass through the threshold into a world born of memories when Heartworm releases on Steam for Windows PC in 2025.

Driven by her obsession with the deaths of those closest to her, Heartworm protagonist Sam spends her days crawling the internet looking for something — an answer or distraction, perhaps to alleviate her pain. Her morbid research takes her deep into the dark web, where she stumbles upon an internet message board that talks about a mysterious house in the mountains that supposedly has a connection to the afterlife. The board states that no one who has visited the house has ever returned. Internet folklore? Conspiracy theory ramblings? Sam, consumed by her grief, seeks out the house in desperation; consequences be damned.

Heartworm is a game about the memories we keep and the ones we wish we could forget. These themes are expressed through its emotionally charged narrative and early console-era game design, featuring cinematic fixed camera angles, low-rez, retro 3D graphics, and optional tank-style controls. Players will be enveloped in its surreal suburban setting, where they’ll face various ghastly enemies with a weaponized camera (with over-the-shoulder aiming) and solve puzzles. Heartworm additionally features in-game and classically-styled pre-rendered cutscenes, multiple unlockable endings, and a beautiful yet haunting soundtrack.

“Words can’t express how excited I am that DreadXP picked up Heartworm,” said developer Vincent Adinolfi. “There was a lot of uncertainty last year for the game — between the unexpected end of our previous publishing agreement and the general air of uncertainty in the industry, I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish this game that I’ve put everything into.”

Heartworm releases for Windows PC on Steam in 2025. Fans can wishlist the game on Steam and download the demo today.

World of Tanks Modern Armor 10th Anniversary

Wargaming, the award-winning online game developer and publisher, proudly marks the 10th anniversary of the console hit World of Tanks Modern Armor. In 2014, World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition rolled onto Xbox as of one the first free-to-play games on Xbox 360. The expansion into the console space continued as the game became available on PlayStation in 2016. Over the last decade, the game has continuously evolved, with its latest iteration, World of Tanks Modern Armor, arriving in 2021. Under its current moniker, World of Tanks Modern Armor offers over 1,000 tanks and features the vehicles and technology of the World War II and Cold War eras.

“Ten years ago, World of Tanks made its debut on Xbox, delivering one of the first free-to-play games for consoles,” said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to players worldwide who have enjoyed our game and contributed to its development, and a special acknowledgment to our studio in Chicago, whose commitment has made this journey possible over the past decade. As we stand at the brink of the next 10 years, rest assured, we are gearing up for even greater adventures and big plans. “

The celebration of World of Tanks Modern Armor’s 10-year anniversary will last throughout 2024! The festivities kicked off on February 6, when new Celebration War Chests made their debut, and all players were invited to participate in the Anniversary: Big X Community Op that can result in them earning two free tanks: the new Lago M38 and the classic T-34-88. Additional 10-year Celebrations rewards will become available starting on February 13, including Garage Gear, and – just for veteran players – a free or heavily discounted Tier X MBT-B tank.

The game’s celebrations also include the ability to earn monthly 10-year Celebrations rewards tied to special themed events. Accessed via the exclusive Celebrations companion website, the year of challenges culminates in the ultimate prize of two yet-to-be-revealed Premium vehicles: a World War II tank and a Cold War tank.

World of Tanks Modern Armor will introduce new tanks for players to earn and upgrade this year. It includes a new Tech Tree line featuring German light tanks and tank destroyers for Cold War mode starting in February, as well as a new World War II Tech Tree line coming this spring.

“Our players love having new tanks added to the game,” said lead designer Brenden McCormack, “There is no better way to celebrate them and our game than by adding more free content for players to earn.”

Enshrouded – Beginner Tips Trailer

Now that Enshrouded has launched into Early Access, developers Keen Games are excited to share some tips and tricks for the many players who have embarked in Embervale or plan to soon. The team is immensely grateful for all the player feedback and plans to reveal the roadmap for the next months for Early Access soon. They also thank the community for seeing Enshrouded reach the top 10 of both Top Selling and Most Played Steam Charts, as well as reaching over one and a half million players in the days following Early Access Launch.

With Enshrouded now in Early Access, the team is excited to share some of their favourite tips and tricks with players to ensure they have the most enthralling experiences possible while exploring Embervale. The video describes some of the many ways players can maximize their success. Abilities and skills can be added by spending skill points, gained by experience — whether it be through combat (by choice or by accident), mining, or expanding your map, grinding feels less monotonous. Making friends with specific NPCs will allow you to upgrade your gear depending on your playstyle. They also share environmental tips to assist in foraging ingredients, such as resin. Remember: if it’s green, the resin is lean – if it’s brown, many resin fall down! Finally, a few words on taking on the different kinds of Shroud and ensuring your friends don’t fall to the same fate. Second-hand gear can give them a helping hand (plus, friends don’t let friends adventure underdressed.)

REVEIL Reveals New Gameplay Showcase

Developer Pixelsplit and Publisher Daedalic Entertainment released an in-depth look at new gameplay for their upcoming psychological thriller REVEIL which is available to pre-order for March 6, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Join indie enthusiast CozyGamerKat as she talks with the developers about REVEIL’s development, story, environment, and sound design. Meanwhile, the developers share atmospheric gameplay and a never-before-seen spine-chilling chase sequence that will put you on the edge of your seat.

In the video, you will experience the beginning of REVEIL and, further down the line, a short but intense segment that takes place in a later part of the story. Join the main character Walter Thompson as he wakes up in his bedroom, just to realize soon after that this is not his home – but a place where different memories of his get interwoven with each other. Walter starts the search for his daughter Dorie while encountering dream-like scenes that all seem to revolve around the Nelson Bros Circus where he once worked. Will you be able to make sense of it all while reality is falling apart?

REVEIL releases on March 6th, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, while a PlayStation 4 version will follow later this year. Due to their limited resources, the small indie team has decided to focus on the development of these previously mentioned platforms and confirms that an Xbox One version of REVEIL is no longer planned to be developed.
