LILO & STITCH BECOMES FIRST MPA TITLE OF 2025 TO REACH $1 BILLION AT THE GLOBAL BOX OFFICE

The Walt Disney Studios’ (TWDS) “Lilo & Stitch” has officially crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office ($416.2M domestic, $584.8M international), becoming the first Motion Picture Association (MPA) title of 2025 to reach the milestone and cementing its status as the #1 MPA release of the year globally and internationally.

With this achievement, The Walt Disney Studios has released four billion-dollar films in the past 13 months alone (Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” Walt Disney Animation’s “Moana 2,” Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2”).

Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman said, “We knew there was a lot of love for ‘Lilo & Stitch’ with audiences around the world, yet we never take that for granted, and we’re proud of how this new film has connected with people. I’m thankful to our filmmakers, our cast, and all on our Studio team who have made this film such a success, and we look forward to more adventures with these characters ahead.”

Domestically, “Lilo & Stitch” opened May 23 to a record-breaking $183 million in four days, setting the biggest Memorial Day weekend debut in history. It is one of only two films this year to surpass $400 million at the domestic box office.

Internationally, “Lilo & Stitch” stands as the #1 MPA international release of 2025 to date. It’s the highest-grossing Disney live-action film of all time in Mexico and is already the highest-grossing film of 2025 across a range of key international markets in Europe (France, Italy, Spain) and Latin America (Brazil, Mexico), in addition to several smaller markets.

“Lilo & Stitch” is currently playing in theaters worldwide, and a sequel is now in development. The new live-action film’s box office success has reignited global interest in the franchise, driving record viewership of the original animated classic and related content on Disney+, which have been viewed more than 640 million hours on the platform globally.

Netflix Greenlights Assassin’s Creed Live-Action Series

Netflix has officially greenlit the live-action Assassin’s Creed series, with Emmy nominees Roberto Patino (DMZ, Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming, The Killing) set as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. The Assassin’s Creed live-action series is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions: one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, the other fighting to preserve free will. The series follows characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.

“We are so excited to work alongside Roberto, David, and our Netflix partners to bring this beloved franchise to series,” said Margaret Boykin, executive producer and head of content at Ubisoft Film & Television. “We look forward to delivering an experience that speaks to the heart of what fans love about Assassin’s Creed, while introducing its unforgettable worlds and timeless themes to new audiences worldwide.”

In 2020, Ubisoft and Netflix announced they entered into an agreement to develop content based on the globally popular Assassin’s Creed video game franchise. This live-action adaptation is the first series to be developed under the agreement. In addition to Wiener and Patino, the show is executive produced by Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television, as well as Matt O’Toole.

Netflix will also be the home of the highly anticipated Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, coming out this fall.

Killing Floor 3 Official Launch Trailer

Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive today shared the official launch trailer for Killing Floor 3, the highly anticipated next chapter in the studio’s legendary Killing Floor franchise, ahead of the game’s July 24 release date. Packed with tons of brutal new footage, feast your eyes on the final, pre-launch look at Mr. Foster and the Nightfall crew in frenetic zed-slaying action. The launch trailer gives a fresh glimpse at the action/horror game in all its gory glory, stacked with all new weapons, never before seen maps, monstrous zeds and more, priming players for the title’s imminent release. Killing Floor 3 will launch worldwide for PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), the PlayStation®5 system, and the Xbox Series X|S console systems on July 24, 2025, and is currently available for digital pre-purchase on all platforms.

Killing Floor 3 is the next installment in the legendary co-op action/horror FPS series. The year is 2091, 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2, and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds. Now, the only thing standing between these infernal creations and the future of humanity is the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall. TRON: Ares Brand-New Trailer Released

Today, Disney unveiled a brand-new trailer, poster and images for “TRON: Ares,” the highly anticipated third installment in the groundbreaking “TRON” franchise, opening in theaters on October 10.

Grammy®-award winning rock band Nine Inch Nails composed the score for “TRON: Ares,” and today, the band dropped “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” —the soundtrack album’s first single and the first official music from the band in five years. “TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),” featuring all original music by Nine Inch Nails, will be released on September 19 via Interscope Records. The release marks the first-ever film score by the pioneering band, although bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed 20 scores under their own names, winning two Oscars®, three Golden Globes®, a GRAMMY® and an Emmy® in the process.

“TRON: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

The feature film is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges. Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger are the producers, with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.

Wild West Supermarket Simulator Release Date Trailer

SunDust, a label of German publisher Toplitz Productions is excited to announce the release date for Wild West Supermarket Simulator.

The store simulation will be entering its Early Access phase on Steam on August 7, 2025 and puts you in charge of a rundown store in an almost deserted ghost town of the Wild West. You have to prove your business acumen and bring not only the granddaddy of modern supermarkets back to life, but the town itself. With each success the city will be filled with life – and more customers.

After a successful run during the last Steam Next Fest, where the demo could garner a positive review score of 88%, the Early Access version is building on the solid foundation from the demo experience and the collected community feedback – but adding bucketloads of fresh content.

Work your way up from humble beginnings and eventually offer 70 products from dried goods and bread up to fresh produce and meat or tools as well as equipment to your hopefully growing number of patrons. Cater to the ever-changing demands of your customers, react to events like a drought or changing economic environments impacting the wholesale prices as well as your income. Adjust prices on the go and walk the narrow line between affordability and profit. Unlock more features and items as you level up your store. Decorate, upgrade, renovate and customize not only your store, but also your homestead overlooking the town.

Participate in exciting minigames like the tomahawk throwing contest or the shooting range to unlock new licences for your ever-growing store.
