Netflix Announces Resident Evil Live Action Series

Netflix’s home of all things geek – confirmed today that a scripted live action series inspired by Capcom’s massive Resident Evil franchise is coming to Netflix.

Building on one of the most popular, best selling survival horror video games of all time, Resident Evil will tell a brand new story across two timelines:

In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.

Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past – about her sister, her father and herself – continue to haunt her.

It was August 4, 1892 when the hacked-up bodies of Abby and Andrew Borden were discovered in the family home. The number one suspect? Their 32 year-old spinster daughter, Lizzie. Yet, she was brought to trial and acquitted by an all-male jury in unanimous agreement that a woman surely could not be capable of murder!

No one back then could have predicted the worldwide and enduring fascination with this as yet ‘unsolved’ cold case making it the most famous crime in America, second in the entire world only to the infamous Jack the Ripper murders in London, England.

The double murder of Lizzie Borden’s parents, Andrew and Abby seems to have stirred the spirits into great unrest, leaving The Lizzie Borden House perpetually occupied by roaming ghosts which, depending on the individual, frighten and delight guests of the now entitled Lizzie Borden B and B. Could it be the spirits are trying to tell us something? Are they restless because the crime is, to this day, officially unsolved?

“The Lizzie Borden Murder House” will be a 24-hour, 4-day-long live streaming immersive experience investigating not only the crime in search of answers, but also fully investigating the active haunting and anomalous activity of the location. With guests from television psychic Chris Fleming, to real Scotland Yard Homicide Inspector, Colin Taylor, we and our audience will try and get to the bottom of who really committed the evil acts and why the spirits are still so restless in the Borden House. The show will present never before seen evidence and take a closer look at the four other possible suspects. Who knows, maybe the ghosts will tell us whodunit!

The murder house will be set up with multiple cameras providing the audience with a completely immersive experience. Not all heroes who later became legends were dauntless, gentlemanly, and wise. In fact, some were lily-livered, mannerless, or plain stupid, and, frankly speaking, became “heroes” for all the wrong reasons. But you’ve gotta admit, playing as yet another heroic Chosen One on a journey to save the world for about the thousandth time is incredibly boring. So instead, Here Be Dragons will allow you to become a bit of a crazy captain accompanied by a dead parrot (no judging!), somehow constantly getting into trouble.

In 1492, Christopher Columbus led Europe to a New World. That’s a fact.

OR IS IT?

Think about it. Ten weeks of travel, 100 people, three ships. Waters full of frightening creatures like the Kraken, Triton, Leviathan, and ghost ships. Do you really think three ships stuffed full of humans had any chance against those gargantuan sea creatures? Of course not! They were just three juicy dumplings, filled with delicious stuffing, exposed to the bloodthirsty beasts of the ocean. But these lousy officials feed you stories of Christopher Columbus’ alleged greatness. Why? For those who don’t know – it’s always about money and reputation.

The upper classes, worried about their place in the hierarchy, were dissatisfied with the stories about the “Avant Armada” that spread around the world, stories of brave lunatics who defeated beasts lurking beneath the cold waves of the Atlantic Ocean. All documentation of the facts was destroyed, and any word of these events turned into unverified hearsay, to be easily replaced by a pompous legend about the success of Christopher Columbus.

Who would benefit from such a story? One about a bunch of freaks who cleared hostile waters, just so Chris could sail them as easily as a canoe across a pond? It’s not the kind of legend an old sailor would tell the locals. It wouldn’t get all the landlubbers talking, nor would it inspire the people.

King’s Bounty II

ProtoCorgi
ProtoCorgi is a retro-style pixel art, horizontal shoot ‘em up with arcade gameplay that gives the player control over Bullet, a C3 (Cute Cybernetic Corgi) class cybernetic pup. When Bullet discovers that Nixie was kidnapped by evil alien forces seeking galactic domination, the cute-yet-deadly Corgi goes on a quest to save her. Relicta
Relicta is a first-person physics-based puzzle game. Played through the eyes of a scientist, you’ll need to use your creativity to play with the laws of physics, utilizing magnetism, polarity and gravity to unravel the secrets of a research facility on the moon. Chandra Base will test your scientific skills, as they are the only thing that can keep your daughter alive.

Starbucks is giving you all the fall feels by bringing back your seasonal favorites starting today, August 25. The fall menu is now available at Starbucks stores across the U.S. and Canada, featuring returning fan-favorites like the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte and the popular Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, alongside the Salted Caramel Mocha and Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage plus fall bakery items Pumpkin Scone and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin.

Customers have various options to order and pickup their favorite fall drinks, including ordering at the drive-thru or ordering and paying ahead through the Starbucks® app. Those looking for their favorites without leaving home can place an order for delivery through Starbucks® Delivers via Uber Eats.
