Jotunslayer: Hordes of Hel Out Now

Today is the day! Flagons will be raised, axes hurled, lighting flung and hordes wiped from the map. Jotunslayer: Hordes of Hel, the critically  acclaimed action roguelike from Games Farm and Grindstone Publishing, is out now! Following a divine Early Access, this tale of Norse destruction now enters 1.0 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S!

Battling across five realms, players take on the role of the damned and face the trials of the Gods, but they won’t be alone. Lighting blasts from Thor, divine radiance from Freya and even the support of the all-father himself will see players turn hundreds, if not thousands of enemies to dust in their wake.

Alongside divine support, each hero will also unlock perks and sub classes, as well as divine support, as they tear through the Hordes of Hel. They won’t just be playing a hero, they’ll be building a merciless machine of mayhem capable of carving their name into legend.

To do that, they’ll have more tools than ever, including:

  • A Fallen Hero: Step into the shoes of the Kin-Slayer, a disgraced warrior capable of dealing devastating damage to her opponents.
  • Helheim: A brand-new region, the dreaded underworld filled with puzzles and a linear path to be uncovered by only the bravest of heroes
  • Endless Mode: If players survive the perils of Helheim, they’ll unlock the brand-new endless mode that sees them fight against the overwhelming odds as they carve their names into legend.
  • Godly Support: Nidhogg, a merciless massive dragon  who will rip apart enemies joins heroes on their bloody rampage through Norse mythology.

Sins of a Solar Empire II – Reinforcements Launch Date Revealed

The battle for galactic control has evolved as all sides introduce deadly new ships and cunning methods of victory. Stardock has announced the Reinforcements DLC for Sins of a Solar Empire II, will launch on September 25, 2025. This content expansion introduces a brand-new command ship class—one unique vessel for each faction—and all-new Factional Victory Conditions that let players win in ways that match their empire’s lore and playstyle.

New Command Ships
Bridging the gap between capital ships and titans, command ships redefine late-game fleet compositions with devastating firepower, unique abilities, and strategic utility:

  • TEC Enclave – Takadaran Command Fortress: A massive support platform doubling as a mobile cruiser-scale shipyard, capable of producing TEC cruisers in the field.
  • TEC Primacy – Khevarkov Modular Battleship: A high-speed strike vessel with customizable hardpoints for railguns, missiles, or hangar bays.
  • Vasari Alliance – Sularkon Tyrant: A city-ship fortress with integrated Phase Gate, designed to lock down entire sectors.
  • Vasari Exodus – Anarkrul Wanderer: A colossal refugee-carrier turned warship, bristling with defenses and heavy strikecraft support.
  • Advent Wrath – Oblivia Dreadnought: A heavily armored frontline warship wielding a devastating Super Heavy PsiKinetic Lance.
  • Advent Reborn – Justicia Dreadnought: A vertical dreadnought that grows deadlier as allies fall, culminating in catastrophic retaliation.

Factional Victory Conditions
The Reinforcements DLC also introduces faction-specific win conditions, adding new strategic layers and dramatic endgame scenarios:

  • Vasari – The Departure: Build massive Arkships and escape the sector through a star.
  • Advent – Mass Conversion: Deploy planetary conversion structures to transform entire star systems into loyal territory in sweeping waves.
  • Trader Emergency Coalition – Super Novalith Offensive: Construct an ultimate Novalith cannon capable of obliterating planets to force peace through sheer destructive power.

“The Reinforcements DLC isn’t just about adding bigger ships—it’s about giving players entirely new ways to think about victory,” said Brian Clair, Executive Producer at Stardock. “From unleashing faction-defining command ships to achieving lore-driven win conditions, every match can now end in a way that feels true to your chosen empire.”

Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad Announced

Today, Ubisoft announced the Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad, a free mobile experience that immerses players in 9th-century Baghdad during the Abbasid Empire. The new app is available for free through the App Store and the Google Play Store and can also be used on any device through a web browser.

Using the recreation of Baghdad from Ubisoft’s video game Assassin’s Creed® Mirage, the Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad allows users to explore this lost city, a former capital for political, scientific, cultural, and commercial advances, through two different modes:

First, Access Codex provides players with carefully selected encyclopedic entries on the history, art, and culture of medieval Baghdad and the Abbasid Caliphate. Based on the Codex entries from History of Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, players can interact with this content through the Augmented Reality features of the app and benefit from additional historical information for each element Second, Explore Baghdad is a gamified, narrative-driven journey that takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Players are tasked to collect Codex entries through a series of minigames and 360° exploration. Developed in partnership with Sugar Creative, one of the UK’s leading immersive technology companies, and with the support of the Welsh Government via Creative Wales, the team delivered an ambitious and accessible cultural experience that blends interactive storytelling with historical research.

For example, real-life artifacts of the period can be found in the app. The Ruby Lustre Bowl from the Arab World Institute Museum in Paris can be examined up close and in detail in AR within the Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad, thanks to a series of high-quality 3D scans taken by the museum.

Through the app, players can experience the ancient city of Baghdad not only as an interactive playground but also as a window into daily life during the Abbasid Empire.

Rami Ismail & Mystic Forge Reveal Australia Did It

In a time when risk-taking in the video game industry feels increasingly rare, Australia Did It crashes through convention with a new genre all its own: the Tactical Reverse Bullet Hell. Published by boutique label Mystic Forge, this unique new game, coming to Steam later this year, enhances the thoughtful play of Turn-Based Tower Defense with a unique unit-merging system and explosive on-rails Reverse Bullet Hell combat. Carefully strategize to withstand relentless enemy waves, then unleash sensory overload as you become the Bullet Hell, mowing down thousands in dazzling chaos.

Designed as a compact, experimental take on the strategy genre, Australia Did It challenges genre conventions and industry caution in equal measure. Created by acclaimed designer Rami Ismail (Nuclear Throne, Luftrausers) and co-developed by Aesthetician Labs, the game marks a return to small-team innovation and genre-pushing ambition at a time when the industry sorely needs it.

The project began with a challenge: stay small, take risks, and build something that doesn’t need to fit a mold.

“I believe the games industry has been failing at supporting developer innovation and experimentation,” said Ismail. “Publishers, investors, and shareholders fund the same few safe bets, later and later in development – forcing even the most creative developers to make safe games with predictable ideas, and force in the latest flavour-of-the-day. That continues until someone does manage to break the mold and creates something truly new – and then the money chases that until that is replaced again. I had very low hopes for this odd prototype I’d been playing with, but when I showed it to Mystic Forge, they didn’t even flinch at the experimental genre mix, wrote the check for a small development cycle, and supported us throughout development. No guardrails, no caveats, just a firm belief that games need new ideas, and that it is worth chasing that.”

Mystic Forge, the new indie publisher created by founding members of Good Shepherd Entertainment, veterans behind titles like Monster Train, Friday the 13th, John Wick Hex, and the Transport Fever series, was launched to do exactly that – support bold projects by teams they believe in. With Australia Did It, the publisher took a deliberately hands-off approach.

“From the very start, I knew that Mystic Forge had to run with Rami going up to bat and taking a big creative swing with this game. Once we chatted about design intent with the focus on high-tension moments and heard his full pitch with the proposed title name, we were ALL IN,” said Randy Greenback, Portfolio Director at Mystic Forge. “Mystic Forge exists to support ideas that deserve to be seen and played, especially if they don’t follow the rules. Australia Did It is experimental, there isn’t anything else like it.”

Set in a drained Atlantic Ocean basin following a mysterious catastrophic event, Australia Did It casts players as hired mercenaries defending a cargo train as it navigates through a monster-ridden drained seabed. Your mission? Escort precious cargo across this hostile terrain by holding off endless waves of enemies at every station. If the shipment arrives intact, we’ll call it a win. Whether you survive or not.
