IFC Films invites you to screen writer and director Andrew Seman’s jaw-dropping sophomore feature, RESURRECTION which had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Stephanie Beatriz set to star in new peacock comedy series twisted metal, a live-action adaptation of the global video game phenomenon.   • Peacock announced today that Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will star in the new action-comedy series TWISTED METAL, a live-action adaptation of the global video game phenomenon.
  • Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show, Bad Trip) will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series.
  • Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) is also starring and executive producing.
  • Will Arnett and Marc Forman from Electric Avenue (Murderville), who secured the rights to the material and helped put the project together from the beginning, are also set to executive produce.
  • Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer for the live-action comedy from Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
  • TWISTED METAL, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

STEPHANIE BEATRIZ (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will play “Quiet,” a ferocious, badass car thief who acts purely on instinct – you couldn’t stop her any more than a manhole could stop a volcano. Coming from a community that oppressed her into silence, Quiet’s wish is to find her place in this dark, chaotic world. But when she becomes clouded by her need for revenge, Quiet forms an unlikely, antagonistic bond with John Doe.

Dead Space Remake Official Launch Date

Motive, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today announced during their Crafting the Tension Art Developer Livestream that Dead Space™ will officially launch on January 27, 2023 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Dead Space is a remake of the classic sci-fi survival horror game that is being rebuilt from the ground up leveraging the Frostbite™ game engine. Still remaining true to the original game’s thrilling vision, the remake offers enhanced audio and crisp, harrowing visuals that have been carefully reimagined to evoke a new level of immersion and quality.

“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves. Dead Space puts players in the boots of Isaac Clarke, an everyman engineer on a routine mission to fix a gigantic mining starship, the USG Ishimura. But aboard the Ishimura, a living nightmare awaits. The ship’s crew has been slaughtered and infected, and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is missing somewhere on board. Alone and trapped, with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac faces a battle for survival – not only against terrifying monsters called Necromorphs, but his own crumbling sanity.

Also revealed today in the Dead Space livestream, the team at Motive showcased an early look at how the remake visually evolves and updates the original with in-game props, tools, environments and more being reconstructed to a level of polish and details fit for the next generation of hardware and PCs. Moreover, by combining enhancements like dynamic, volumetric lighting with atmospheric and environmental VFX rendered in full-HDR, Dead Space allows players to confront the frighteningly tight corridors and shadowed hallways of the USG Ishimura with unprecedented levels of immersion for the beloved franchise.

Norm Macdonald Secretly Filmed a Netflix Comedy Special Before his Passing

Iconic comedian Norm Macdonald, known for his singular style and delivery, shares a final, posthumous stand-up special on Netflix, launching May 30, 2022. Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special, which he named, was self-taped in the comedian’s home.

Macdonald kept his illness a secret for many years. In the summer of 2020, venues were shut down due to the pandemic, but Norm wanted to record the comedy special that he had worked so hard to prepare. He performed it alone in his living room. Being Norm, he did it in one take.

“Norm worked so hard on a new hour of material and wanted it to be seen. While this version of Nothing Special was not originally meant to be the final product, Covid restrictions prevented him from filming in front of an audience. We want to make sure his fans see this very funny hour. He left this gift for all of us,” said Lori Jo Hoekstra, Norm’s long-time producing partner and executive producer of Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special.

Following the special is a bonus featurette with Adam Sandler, Conan O’Brien, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, David Spade and Molly Shannon, who discuss their friend Norm, a fearless comedian and joyful human being. The conversation was taped earlier this month during a tribute to Norm at Netflix is a Joke: The Festival.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Unveils Spring Preview on May 14

 Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, one of the Northeast’s largest water parks, will launch the 2022 season May 14 with a spring preview. The park will operate several of its signature attractions while debuting new guest enhancements in preparation for the exciting summer season. Hurricane Harbor will operate weekends May 14 through June 12. Daily operation will run June 17 through Sept. 5.

Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor aim to fill 4,000 positions for the 2022 season, which runs through Jan 1, 2023. More than 10 diverse departments are hiring including lifeguards with paid training and certification. Most wages range from $15 to $20 per hour. Applicants must be at least 14 years old. Tennis Manager 2022 New Features Trailer Released

French independent developer and publisher Rebound CG has announced Tennis Manager 2022 will launch on May 17 via Steam and Epic Games Store. Following a year of early access development, the feature-rich sequel to the hit 2021 game will release just in time to accompany tennis fans through the thrills and spills of this year’s Roland-Garros French Open tournament beginning on May 16.

Building on the breakout success of the 2021 series debut, Tennis Manager 2022 takes the experience to new heights of immersive realism, on and off the court. Players will take the helm of their tennis academy and expertly guide athletes through training and tournaments to the dizzying heights of international success.

New gameplay features include player creation, round robin tournaments, in-depth team management tools, and a new contract management and negotiation system. Among the numerous technical and graphical enhancements are improved match simulation AI, revamped animations, and much more.
