Men of War II Battle of Coisson Gameplay Trailer

Fulqrum Publishing and Best Way today released an extended single player gameplay video from highly-anticipated real time strategy title Men of War II. The 20-minute video spotlights Battle of Coisson, a mission from the game’s Falaise Pocket story campaign which takes place from the US perspective. It is just one of three single-player missions that will be playable in the upcoming Men of War II open beta, which will be available via Steam on May 11 through to May 15.

The mission takes place near the village of Coisson, Normandy, 1944, and sees The 68th Motorized Infantry Battalion – led by Lieutenant Carl Young – on a rescue operation to make contact with artillery gunners of Company H, who recently ceased communication with command.

The 68th Motorized Infantry Battalion is formed from what remained of two other battalions which took heavy losses during the Normandy landings. One used to be an infantry battalion, but the merged unit was reclassified as mechanised.

In addition to Battle of Coisson, players can also experience two new additional, non-campaign, single-player missions during the open beta.

Battle of Coisson
The first of which, Towards Freedom, sees players command a squad of scouts and NKVD Special Forces on a mission to destroy a German camp and liberate the POWs held captive within. The opposition has superior numbers and ample reserves, meaning the player must utilise superior tactics – or else perish in an unequal battle.

Towards Freedom
The final single-player mission available in the upcoming beta is Ambush, which takes place from the German perspective in Normandy, 1944. The 30th Panzergrenadier Regiment is taking heavy losses, and the decision has been made to ambush fresh US reinforcements while the regiment’s main force is off fighting at the front line. The new enemy units must not reach that front line and must be stopped at all costs.

Ambush
During the beta Battle of Coisson, Towards Freedom, and Ambush can all be played in both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes. Players looking to get hands-on with these missions and additional multiplayer content, can now enlist for the Men of War II Open Beta which will begin next month on May 11 and run until May 15.

Signing up is simple: players just need to head over to the Men of War II Steam store page where they will have the option to ‘Request Access’ for a Men of War II Playtest – doing so will guarantee access to the playtest. Everyone that signs up ahead of time will receive an email notification once the beta goes live.

The open beta will feature a varied selection of multiplayer maps and modes, but will also introduce never-before-seen single-player content, and implement a number of gameplay changes based on community feedback from March’s multiplayer tech test.

Survival: Fountain of Youth Early Access Launch Trailer

Survival: Fountain of Youth, the single-player survival game set in the 16th-century Caribbean islands from developer Odinsoft and publisher Twin Sails Interactive, makes landfall for an Early Access launch on Steam for Windows PC today. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will dock at port alongside the full 1.0 launch.

What started as Juan Ponce de Leon’s legendary 16th-century expedition for the Fountain of Youth leads to waking up disoriented on an unfamiliar island after a terrible storm. Shipwrecked and stranded with limited resources, get to work securing shelter, scavenging food and water, and staying healthy as diseases and predators loom.

Create a base of operations to store materials and craft tools before adventuring outward. Search for points of interest and clues relating to both the missing crewmembers and the mysterious civilization that once called these islands home. Could the Fountain of Youth lie here somewhere?

Traverse two expansive regions in the Early Access version of Survival: Fountain of Youth, with plans for two major content updates adding new regions and islands during Early Access, and a fifth region arriving at the 1.0 and console launch.

Scour for materials to assemble an arsenal of weapons and tools from simple spears to gunpowder muskets, transform basic lean-tos into cozy cabins, and develop skills to spend survival points that unlock valuable perks. Surviving and escaping the islands requires careful planning and preparation, with wild animals and tropical storms throwing a spanner in the works.

Set sail on a range of sea-faring ships to explore new islands and locations. Start with a primitive raft before upgrading to capable Spanish vessels that cut through waves. Use ships as a floating base or set up camps on different islands to facilitate longer exploration missions to uncover secrets and clues related to the story experience. Survival: Fountain of Youth encourages both player-defined adventuring and story-driven questing, allowing everyone to play at their own pace.

The teams at Odinsoft and Twin Sails Interactive are huge fans of the survival genre and the specific setting and story of Survival: Fountain of Youth. In understanding the complexity of choices and interactions they aim to offer players, both teams are eager to launch the game in Early Access to fine-tune the experience and improve the game based on player feedback. Today’s launch represents the beginning of a journey. Content and features will be added regularly, and bugs will be resolved as they are discovered. Working together with the playerbase and community, Odinsoft and Twin Sails Interactive look forward to receiving precious feedback during Early Access and will implement ideas and concepts introduced by conversations with the community.

“Survival: Fountain of Youth blends a historical setting with open-ended survival mechanics to create a challenging and rewarding experience for those that love exploration,” said Stas Ignatov, Head of Publishing, Odinsoft. “Entering Early Access is an adventure unto itself, and we look forward to embarking on this journey with players today on Steam!”

Survival: Fountain of Youth will is now available on Steam Early Access for Windows PC for $22.99/22.99€ with a 10% launch discount from April 19-26. Survival: Fountain of Youth features English, French, German, Russian, and Simplified Chinese-language support.

We’ll go through each announcement below (prepare yourself – there’s a lot!) and be sure to check out the game for yourself when it drops on June 2, 2023 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Welcome to World Tour

  • We showed off an all-new location in World Tour called Nayshall, a developing nation tucked away in a remote corner of Asia. You’ll meet iconic Masters and experience the world of Street Fighter with your own custom avatar as you hit the streets of Metro City, Nayshall, and other locations around the world in this new single-player story mode.
  • We introduced a number of RPG elements as well. You can consume items and food during battle or at eateries to recover Vitality, acquire buffs, or inflict debuffs. As you level up your avatar, you’ll earn Skill Points to spend on a Skill Tree to further customize your tailor-made move set.
  • Become a student of your favorite Masters – including all 18 launch characters – by Enrolling in their style and learning their Special Moves! Increase your bonds with Masters by giving them presents and completing Missions. Combine all of this to unlock new cutscenes as you form personal connections with these legendary fighters.

Show Off Your Style with Custom Avatar Battles

  • Build up your unique character in World Tour and then head into Battle Hub to join custom Avatar Battles against other players online! Use your avatar with Dhalsim’s fighting style, Zangief’s Screw Piledriver, and Ken’s Hadoken, or any other combination of abilities you’ve learned in World Tour to show off your own personal fighting style. Be wary because your opponent might have come up with an even wilder palette of moves.

Innovation in Accessibility

  • Street Fighter 6 is committed to supporting increased accessibility with innovative sound design that tells you how far away you are from your opponent, the height level of attacks, whether an attack is a cross-up, how much Drive Gauge remains, and more.
  • For newcomers and veterans alike, there are fleshed out TutorialsCharacter Guides, and Combo Trials, which provide a solid foundation for each character.
  • Our third Control Type to go along with Classic and Modern is Dynamic, where you can unleash a character’s flashy moves by pressing the Auto-Attack button and having AI assist your attacks and combos!

Classic Fighting Game Experiences with Some Extra Spice

  • Arcade Mode is a single-player mode where you’ll face off against the computer and learn more about each fighter’s story. Complete Arcade Mode with each character to unlock and view beautiful illustrations in the Gallery. Your scores can also be uploaded to online leaderboards!
  • Play against other players or the computer by creating a team of up to 5 characters and customize the Match Format to your liking such as Single Elimination, Doubles, and Teams.
  • Extreme Battle introduces rulesets you’ll need to follow, along with fun features like Running Bulls or our own special version of hot potato. Play in Extreme Battle to learn more about the basics of the game or to unleash pure havoc at a party.
  • Play online against other players by creating a Custom Room. The four virtual cabinets in the room can be set to One on One, Extreme Battle, or Training. Custom Rooms can now include up to 16 players at a time and makes Online Training and Match Spectating easier than ever before!

Compete Against the World

  • Ranked Matches return and we’ve taken steps to reduce the pressure of losing a match in certain Ranks. First, we’ve added a one-time Rank-down protection feature for those in Diamond rank and below. Next, Rookies will no longer lose League Points upon defeat to encourage online play. Finally, Iron-Gold and Master rank players will not incur League demotions. Each character also has their own individual Rank, so trying new characters in Ranked Matches is more approachable than ever.

Wait – There’s More!

  • As a celebration of the entire Street Fighter series, we’re introducing the Battle Damage Feature! During fights, characters will get sweatier, develop cuts and bruises, along with other signs of heated battle appearing on their faces and clothing. This is only available in certain offline modes and can be turned off in Settings.
  • We showed off how players can create a Club in the Battle Hub to play with friends and find like-minded players. Customize your Club emblem and design a uniform that only your Club’s members can show off.

Get Ready for Year 1 with Four New Characters!

  • Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, who debuted in Street Fighter™ V, returns in Summer 2023. The enigmatic A.K.I. struts into the roster in Autumn 2023. Ed, the Young Commander from Street Fighter V, also strikes back in early Winter 2024. And finally, the legend himself, the beast, the transcendent Akuma will rage into Street Fighter 6 in Spring 2024! All four of these characters will be included as Masters in World Tour following their release and are also included in the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Street Fighter 6.
