Wargaming Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary

Wargaming has turned 25 today! Since its formation in 1998, the company has released over 20 titles across all major gaming platforms bringing immersive online hobbies to millions of players worldwide. In addition to the Steam offerings, Wargaming has prepared a variety of extra in-game activities. World of Tanks PC players can partake in a 25th anniversary themed event to earn credits, different types of combat ratio, decals, emblems, day of Premium Account and more. World of Warships captains will be able to get extra economic bonuses, signal flags and other gifts by completing a series of special missions. World of Tanks Blitz offers a dedicated “Wargaming Turns 25!” quest with a legendary anniversary avatar as one of the rewards. World of Warplanes presents a chain of battle missions that will bring great prizes and a unique emblem.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series Let’s Play with Cara Gee

Telltale, the leading narrative game development studio and publisher, has released an exclusive playthrough of the first 30 minutes of Episode 1 of The Expanse: A Telltale Series with fan favorite Camina Drummer (played by Cara Gee) along with Game Director Stephan Frost of Deck Nine Games.

Episode 1 – Archer’s Paradox of The Expanse: A Telltale Series is available now with Episode 2 – Hunting Grounds launching on August 10.

Telltale has also recently released a Redband Trailer for The Expanse: A Telltale Series and hosted an exclusive panel at San Diego Comic Con.

Saints Row – A Song of Ice and Dust DLC Out Now

Publisher Deep Silver and developer Volition today are excited to announce that the third DLC expansion for Saints Row is out now. Today’s DLC, A Song of Ice and Dust, brings players to the recently-added district of Vallejo for a truly strange showdown. Soon, more players than ever will be able to experience Saints Row’s own unique brand of weird, with the title making its way to Steam on Aug. 24.

A Song of Ice and Dust is a LARP-themed tale set in the crumbling district of Vallejo. Players will experience the epic climax to Saints Row’s popular Dustmoot story, a tale of two “frenemies” (the Boss and Gwen) who, despite their experiences together, still really hate each other.

After a brutal bloody wedding betrayal of the Dustlanders, it´s time to join forces and defend The Dustfaire from the clutches of the Chill Queen and the Frostlanders, paintball by paintball.

This DLC package comes within five new campaign missions, a new enemy faction (The Frostlanders), four new vehicles, new weapons, and more than 20 additional outfits and cosmetics. It follows the game’s third major free update and includes an entirely new district for all players, as well as more fixes and quality of life improvements. A Song of Ice and Dust is available can be purchased starting today and is also included in the Saints Row Expansion Pass.

Last Train Home Story Trailer

THQ Nordic and developer Ashborne Games have released a new story trailer for Last Train Home, the upcoming historical strategy game set in the aftermath of World War I. Yearning for home with a desperation that knows no bounds, the Czechoslovak Legionnaires crave one thing above all else – to finally set foot in their very own state, a place they shed blood, sweat, and tears for during the Great War. Their hearts ache to behold the faces of their families and friends, as they yearn to leave behind the desolate and unforgiving Siberian wilderness, along with the relentless turmoil of the Russian Civil War.

Home is their sole beacon of hope, calling them back from the depths of despair.

Last Train Home thrusts players into the grim aftermath of the First World War. As a commander of the Czechoslovak Legion, you’ll find yourself trapped in the chaos of civil war in the heart of Russia. Aboard an armored train, you must venture into the unforgiving landscape of Siberia and safely bring your men back home.

In order to accurately represent the time period, the game team partnered with the official Czechoslovak Legionary Community, which operates the “Legiovlak,” a faithful replica of a legionary train from the years 1918-1920, complete with a locomotive, infantry car, workshop, kitchen, ambulance, artillery car and more. The team was able to use the Legiovlak when recording to accurately depict the time when Czechoslovak war operations were taking place on the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia.

TMNT Coming to Street Fighter 6

Congratulations to all the amazing competitors who battled it out to become the best of the best at Evolution Championship Series (Evo) 2023! For fans in attendance and those watching live around the world, Street Fighter™ 6 dropped a shelltastic announcement with the unveil of an in-game collaboration with the leanest, meanest, and greenest turtles out there – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Starting on August 8, 2023, Street Fighter 6 players will be able to style their custom avatars with new TMNT gear and emotes, apply fun new Titles, send TMNT stamps to the chat, customize their in-game mobile wallpaper and camera frames, and even turn their World Tour and Battle Hub custom avatar into their favorite Turtle! High Three!

Evo also marked the captivating debut of the mysterious A.K.I., soon to be the 20th playable Street Fighter 6 character, with her first in-game cinematic footage from the single-player World Tour mode as a surprise stinger for the crowd. A.K.I. will be released in Fall 2023 and we’ll have much more to share about her at a later date.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration is the second branded partnership within Street Fighter 6 since its release in June 2023, following a collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger at launch. The TMNT collaboration invites players to show off their Turtle fandom in various fun ways, while also decking out the in-game social center – Battle Hub – with TMNT banners, signage, and trailers. The heroes in a half shell are also starring in their latest movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, in theaters now from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, and Point Grey Productions, and produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver.

Street Fighter 6 is the latest game in the storied Street Fighter franchise, representing the next evolution of the series with an all-new single player World Tour mode, a community-focused Battle Hub mode, and the culmination of core gameplay modes present via Fighting Ground. Cities: Skylines II Climates and Seasons Deep Dive

Today, during a new developer deep dive, Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order unveiled the weather and climate systems for Cities: Skylines II. In the previous game, maps with different themes represented varying climates, but those using the same theme functioned identically. Now, Cities: Skylines II introduces a major improvement called “Climates,” offering changing seasons, unique day lengths, and real-world location-based weather patterns. This enhancement makes every map a distinct gaming experience, whether it’s set in the Finnish countryside in the North or in Brisbane in the South. Notably, weather even influences gameplay, affecting citizens’ behavior when deciding to use parks or indoor leisure activities.

Marvel Unveils New ALIEN Comic Series

In the pages of Marvel’s current ALIEN comic series, writer Declan Shalvey and artist Andrea Broccardo are unearthing terrifying new truths about the legendary Xenomorph species. Set on an icy moon in the black of night, the current saga, “Thaw,” will conclude next month in ALIEN #5 but the threat of the Xenomorphs always re-emerges… The acclaimed creative team will dare to explore even darker depths of the Alien mythos this November in a new ALIEN #1!

The new series will take place in two time periods with Shalvey also on art duties, drawing flashback scenes of a doomed earlier crew in each issue. As readers learn more about the mistakes and goals of the first mission, they’ll discover the full unsettling scope of what the present-day protagonists have gotten themselves into! Connected to the current series but offering a fresh start for new readers, the new run will continue to develop the new subspecies of Xenomorphs that Shalvey and Broccardo have introduced while laying the groundwork for an even greater threat. Before ALIEN #1 launches, fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with this new breed of creatures in October’s ALIEN ANNUAL #1, a double-sized issue that will serve as connective tissue between story arcs.
