Racket Club Launch Trailer

It may be cold outside, but itʼs always Racket Club season, so get ready to serve up some fun in todayʼs newest virtual reality game from leading XR games studio, Resolution Games. Racket Club, a brand new racket sport built from the ground up for VR to bring the best parts of games like tennis and pickleball into your own home, is now available on the Meta Quest Store, Pico and Steam [TRAILER].

Landing just in time for the holidays and new yearʼs resolutions, Racket Club is the perfect way for family and friends – even those new to VR and at any fitness skill level – to come together in an authentic and realistic social club experience built around the natural movement and fun of racket sports. So whether youʼre in it to win it or a noob that wants to learn the basics, youʼre always right at home with Racket Club.

“As an avid racket player, I really feel that we smashed it out of the park with Racket Club,” said Mathieu Castelli, chief creative officer at Resolution Games. “Weʼve taken our favorite aspects from many of the worldʼs most popular racket games including Tennis, Padel, Pickleball, and Squash and created a brand new sport that is as close to following the laws of physics as possible… with just enough leeway to create a level of fun that is only possible in VR. I canʼt wait for players of every level to dive in and enjoy the ride of physical and mental progression, starting with the basics and picking up new bits here and there as they unlock their potential in Racket Club through movement-based play.”

Players can join the court in various ways, including singles or doubles multiplayer for up to four players, go for single-player glory in Career Mode, and hone skills in drills and practice. They can also take on AI bots at the highest competitive level or simply to warm up and learn new moves. The game also features mixed reality capabilities for Meta Quest 3, 2 and Pro and on Pico 4, a much-requested feature from players experiencing physical sports games in headsets, allowing for the comfort and confidence to swing the racket at will without having to worry about actual physical barriers around you.

Inside the game, the most defining feature is the club – a large social space modeled after real racket clubs where players seamlessly spectate, play, find new partners, and more. Itʼs as though players step into a real club in VR, and thereʼs always a court available! Castelli explained, “Racket Club is not just a game. Itʼs a whole experience. We worked very hard to provide the real vibe of a real racket club – the feeling you get when you step into a place with other people playing around you, you hear them play, you can interact with them or not – itʼs your choice – but just by playing next to them you feel something very different than the usual experience online. This is the magic of social experiences in VR.”

Players can enter the courts starting today in Racket Club, now available for $24.99 on the Meta Quest Store, Pico, and Steam. For more information, please be sure to follow the community on Discord and X/Twitter.

Beyerdynamic MMX 200 Wireless Headphones Review

Beyerdynamic, a legendary name in the audio world, has taken a bold step into the wireless gaming headset market with the MMX 200 Wireless. These headphones promise studio-caliber sound, a professional-grade microphone, and the liberating convenience of wireless connectivity. But do they rise above the competition and live up to the Beyerdynamic name? Let’s dive in and find out.

The MMX 200 Wireless exudes the understated yet premium feel characteristic of Beyerdynamic products. The sturdy construction primarily comprises durable plastics and metals, ensuring longevity. Thick memory foam earpads, swathed in supple leatherette, provide exceptional comfort during extended use. While not the most visually striking headset, the MMX 200 Wireless prioritizes functionality and durability over flashy aesthetics.

At the heart of these wireless headphones lies a dual-mode wireless system. The included USB dongle offers a low-latency connection ideal for competitive gaming. For everyday use, the MMX 200 Wireless conveniently supports Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity, allowing you to switch between your gaming rig and your phone effortlessly.

A unique feature of the MMX 200 Wireless is the Augmented Mode. This feature mixes in a bit of ambient sound from your surroundings, keeping you aware of your environment without needing to remove the headset – perfect for quick conversations or checking in.

Battery life is impressive, with Beyerdynamic claiming up to 26 hours on a single charge. While real-world results may vary slightly, you should easily power through several marathon gaming sessions before needing a recharge.

Beyerdynamic has built its reputation on studio-quality headphones, and the MMX 200 Wireless carries on that tradition. The sound signature is balanced and accurate, making them versatile for both gaming and music. Bass is punchy but controlled, ensuring explosions pack a satisfying punch without dominating the mix. Mids and highs are clear and crisp, delivering crucial details like enemy footsteps while keeping vocals and instruments well-defined.

While there’s no dedicated EQ app, the subtle bass boost provided by the included USB dongle is a welcome touch for gaming. Overall, the MMX 200 Wireless delivers an audio experience that puts many gaming-focused headsets to shame.

The detachable “META VOICE” cardioid condenser microphone is arguably the star of the show. Your teammates will hear your voice loud and clear, with fantastic background noise rejection. It’s a leap in quality above the typical headset microphone, making it a great option for voice chats, content creation, or even taking calls when paired with your phone.

Intuitive controls are located on the earcups. A multifunction volume wheel feels precise and satisfying to use, while a dedicated button toggles Augmented Mode for on-demand awareness. The microphone mutes automatically when you swivel the boom arm upwards, a feature that is as convenient as it sounds.

Overall, the Beyerdynamic MMX 200 Wireless Headphones confidently enter the wireless gaming headset arena as a top contender. It justifies its premium $249 dollar price with outstanding audio quality, an exceptional microphone, robust construction, and a unique feature like Augmented Mode. While some might miss the option for deeper sound customization with an EQ app and flashy RGB lighting, these omissions are in line with Beyerdynamic’s focus on audio fidelity and functionality. If you demand top-tier sound, a superb microphone, and a wireless headset that refuses to compromise, the MMX 200 Wireless deserves a spot on your shortlist.

War Hospital Goes Gold

NACON and Brave Lamb studio are pleased to announce that War Hospital, the WW1 field hospital management game, has passed gold (end of development). It is now available for pre-order on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S, until its scheduled release on 11 January 2024 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Develop an authentic war game

The development of War Hospital is the fruit of painstaking research, the objective of which was to offer players a realistic interpretation of the First World War. Now at the gold stage, the game is free from video game clichés, thanks in particular to the partnership between Brave Lamb studio and London’s Imperial War Museum.

“In War Hospital, we wanted to depict the despair and problems encountered by field hospitals in the First World War – the overwhelming numbers wounded, the scarcity of resources and the difficult decisions that doctors would need to make. Players will often be forced to decide who lives and who dies, to choose to prioritize compassion or a more dispassionate approach to increase efficiency.” explains Jakub Kędzior, Lead Game Designer at Brave Lamb.

10% off during the pre-order period

To celebrate the end of the development stage and thank future players for their trust, today marks the launch of a 10% discount on the purchase price of War Hospital for any pre-order. Originally available for €39.99 | $39.99 | £34.99 on consoles, you can now get your hands on this management game for €35.99 | $35.99 | £31.49.
