Many people often ponder, “What if I had chosen differently? What if I had seized another opportunity or followed an alternate path instead of the one I took?” This omnipresent question is often central to our lives. Along his thought-provoking journey in 11 bit studios’ upcoming sci-fi game, The Alters, protagonist Jan Dolski will discover concrete answers to many of his very own ‘what ifs’ of life.

Those answers will come in the form of the alters, his embodied alternative personalities. While he shares many physical features and certain memories—both pleasant and unpleasant—with them, other aspects of their lives vary greatly. These differences lead to some alters being more confident, happier, or more fulfilled than Jan or the other alters. Additionally, each alter may possess distinct skills the others lack, which will be necessary to operate and maintain a stranded circular base. After unexpected mission complications, Jan seeks their help, even though many may not comprehend how he could be so cruel to bring them to life only to inform them of the grave danger they all face.

Stranded on a planet with a deadly, scorching sun that necessitates constant relocation of the mobile base he lives in, and with the data of all deceased crew members missing from the base’s onboard Quantum Computer after a crash landing, Jan is left with no options. Upon discovering an eerie resource called Rapidium, he must alter pivotal decisions that shaped his life—such as whether to leave for university or stay in his hometown to care for his sick mother—and confront the consequences, all in an effort to save all of his lives.

The Alters will launch later this year for Windows 11 PC and consoles. The game will also be coming to both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass upon its release.

Frostpunk 2 City Unbound Ep.1 – After The Great Storm

With Frostpunk 2 set to launch on September 20th for PC—and on PC Game Pass—the development team is tirelessly integrating both previously planned and entirely new content into the ever-expanding game. With the debut of a new series of developer diaries, we can now take a peek behind the curtain of the team’s creative process as we await Frostpunk 2’s launch this Fall.

‘City Unbound’ is a seven-episode series combining interviews with new footage from this city-building strategy survival game, developed by one of 11 bit studios’ three in-house teams. Each episode will offer an in-depth look at the core strengths and unique aspects of this ambitious sequel, such as expanding New London on an unprecedented scale and exploring the implications of the end of the Captain’s authoritarian rule 30 years after the events of the first game.

Players will delve into the various layers of the Idea Tree and Zeitgeist—a general ideological landscape of their city—which will be shaped by how they handle factions and navigate through their conflicting ideas.

With factions becoming one of the most significant new features, the developers will also focus on how the Council operates, where political shenanigans unfold, and practical ways of reclaiming the frostland from the icy wilderness.

Daybreak Games Unveils San Diego Comic-Con Panel

Daybreak Games is home to some of the most iconic and influential titles in the games industry, including the pioneering MMORPG EverQuest, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Developers from some of the publisher’s biggest games will be sharing what they’ve learned over the years in a special panel at San Diego Comic-Con in room 6BCF on July 26 from 12:45-1:45 p.m. PDT.

The panel, “Revolutionizing Legends: The Evolution of Iconic Online Games,” is an opportunity for the team to speak directly to the players and fans who have made so many enormous contributions to these living games.

TERMINATOR ZERO Teaser Trailer Debut

Today, Netflix released the teaser trailer for TERMINATOR ZERO, premiering globally on JUDGMENT DAY August 29, 2024.

The teaser trailer debuts Sonoya Mizuno (House of the Dragon) as the voice of “Eiko,” the resistance fighter sent back in time to stop Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. Additional voice cast includes Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet) as Terminator, André Holland (Moonlight) as Malcolm Lee, Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) as Koroko, and Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale) as The Prophet.

Created and executive produced by Mattson Tomlin and executive produced by Skydance Animation by Production IG Studios, the eight-episode series will be part of the Terminator universe but will center around new characters.

Ultraman Takes Over San Diego Comic-Con 2024

Get ready to connect with Ultraman like never before! Today, Tsuburaya Productions announced that Japan’s most iconic superhero Ultraman will be taking over San Diego Comic-Con in a big way. All weekend long, fans of the pop culture franchise will have access to premium Ultraman content from must-attend panels, unique screenings, meet and greets with Ultraman live characters, autograph sessions with Ultraman universe artists and talent, collectible merch, and more!

Ultra Hero Character Meet and Greets

Fans will have the opportunity to connect with major franchise characters at the Ultraman booth (#3729) as well as the Bandai booth (#3345) this year, including Ultraman, Ultraman Arc, Ultraman Blazar, Ultraman Zero, and Ultraman Taiga. On the heels of the recent hit-maker Ultraman: Rising, breakout character Emi will also make her debut appearance. Selected Ultraman licensee exhibitors may also host Ultraman character appearances.

Ultraman Artist Autograph Sessions

Exciting autograph sessions are planned to take place at the Tsuburaya Fields Media & Pictures booth (#3729) throughout the weekend. Featured artists and talent include fan favorite Jamie Noguchi (Thursday at 2pm), and Marvel Comics artists E.J. Su (Friday at 11am) and Reilly Brown (Saturday at 11:30am), Nakatomi Ultraman: Rising Poster Artist Tom Whalen (Friday at 3pm), Ultraman: Rising Director Shannon Tindle (Saturday at 1pm), and Ultraman: Rising Co-Director John Aoshima (Saturday at 1pm).

Ultraman Trading Card Game

On the heels of the recently announced Ultraman Card Game, the game will be demonstrated for fans at the Ultraman booth (#3729) prior to its release at retail on October 25, 2024. Transmedia Producer Jeff Gomez and Ultraman Connection’s EJ Couloucoundis will also join with artists from the trading card game to review conventiongoer portfolios. Talented amateur, semi-pro, and professional artists may be selected to contribute art to upcoming releases from the Ultraman Card Game.

Focus Features Brings Shaun of the Dead to San Diego Comic-con With Immersive Pop-up Experience

Focus Features will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Edgar Wright’s cult classic horror comedy, Shaun of the Dead, with a special immersive pop-up experience during San Diego Comic-Con 2024. An unforgettable homage to the iconic zombie movie, the Shaun of the Dead pop-up promises to transport visitors directly into the hilariously twisted universe of the film.

Located at 520 Fifth Avenue, the space is open to the public from Thursday, July 25th, through Sunday, July 28th. Thursday through Saturday the pop-up is open from 12pm-6pm and 12pm-4pm on Sunday. Fans will be able to explore a meticulously crafted set re-creation of the Winchester Tavern, interactive photo opps, a complimentary can of themed beer courtesy of Beer Zombies (must be 21+, while supplies last), exclusive merch, game demos and giveaways.

One of the highlights of the experience will be the chance for guests to be among the first in the world to play the Shaun of the Dead-inspired level of the upcoming co-op action game, Funko Fusion, developed by 10:10 Games. This exclusive sneak peek comes ahead of the game’s global release this fall. Pre-orders for physical console editions of the game are currently available at select global retailers and digital distribution partners.

Guests 21+ will receive a complimentary can of beer of the “Winchester Plan.” Available while supplies last and courtesy of Beer Zombies Brewing Co, the Winchester Plan is a beer for when your town is inexplicably overrun with zombies. GreedFall 2 Release Date Trailer

NACON and Spiders studio are pleased to announce the early access release date of the narrative RPG GreedFall II: The Dying World with a new trailer. The title offers an all-new adventure in the world of GreedFall, which has already drawn in a player community over 2 million strong, and will be released under early access on Steam on 24 September 2024.

Players will then be able to discover the first chapters of the main quest, explore the regions of Teer Fradee, Thynia and Uxantis, and also get to know some of the characters that will accompany them in the course of their adventure. Of course, the game content will be enriched throughout the early access phase, with plenty of new features and improvements: zones, companions, quests, skills and many more!

GreedFall II: The Dying World is a narrative RPG which starts three years before the events of the first game. This time, you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, the homeland of the colonists. In this old world in a constant state of conflict, and ravaged by the Malichor plague and the political scheming of various factions, you must regain your freedom and forge your own destiny. Tackle each challenge you face through diplomacy, cunning or your combat skills, and alongside your new-found allies, put a stop to one man’s ambitions of conquest, which could spell the end for the continent and your island.

GreedFall II: The Dying World will be released for early access on 24 September on PC (Steam), and will be available on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.

Hulu Animayhem Factory Announced for San Diego Comic-Con

Hulu is bringing Animayhem back to San Diego Comic-Con with a zany, 2D factory where its beloved animated series are made. Inside the factory, fans will find Hulu’s most iconic animated titles like Futurama, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Simpsons and more! The activation is located right next to the Convention Center on the Bayfront’s Parking Lot. Reaching out as we would love to work together on coverage to get your readers excited about what’s to come at Hulu’s Animayhem Factory at SDCC 2024.

Starting July 25 from 11:30am-7pm, July 26-27 from 9:30am–7pm daily, and July 28 from 9:30am–5pm, Hulu’s Animayhem Factory will transport fans into a zany 2D factory where fans of all ages can interact with their favorite shows and take home themed memorabilia from popular titles like Solar Opposites, Hit Monkey, Futurama, The Simpsons, and many more. Additional details on the immersive activities, such as a theatrical Cutawayland that celebrates Family Guy’s 25th Anniversary, a singing booth from Bob’s Burgers that showcases beloved songs from the series and a life-size replica of the Slurm Factory from Futurama.

Futurama is back and better than ever! This year, at the Hulu Animayhem Factory, SDCC fans will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the Slurm Factory from the hit show. A larger-than-life Slurm Queen and thirsty Bender will welcome fans into the space, where they can see first-hand how Slurm is created. Bender even gets a taste of the infamous lime green beverage straight from the Queen’s anus! Audio excerpts of Futurama’s “Willy Wonka-inspired” Slurm Factory music will be playing to get SDCC fans in the spirit and large-scale 2D cutouts of the show’s beloved characters like Fry, Lela and the Grunka Lunkas will be stationed throughout the space for special photo ops.

Cutawayland Storage with Family Guy (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Family Guy, fans will be welcomed into Cutawayland where 25 years of the show’s best cutaways are stored for safekeeping. Guests will be prompted to select a 2D object that corresponds to a cutaway scene and take it to one of many viewing stations that line the walls. Once the object is placed onto the factory machine, retro TV screens are triggered to display their favorite scenes and jokes from the show’s impressive history. Life-size 2D cutouts of the entire Griffin clan, dressed in their finest yellow tuxedos, will be prominently placed throughout the space, giving fans a special keepsake photo op that celebrates 25 years of Family Guy.

Enjoy a Sweet Pick-Me-Up from The Simpsons “LardLad Donut Factory” (FOX/Disney+/20th Television Animation)

To celebrate The Simpsons, Hulu Animayhem is bringing Springfield’s LardLad Donut factory all the way to SDCC! Inside the factory, Mr. Burns is at it again — dumping toxic waste and passing it off as donut icing! In partnership with SoCal’s cult-favorite donut shop Randy’s Donuts, the LardLad Donut factory will invite guests to watch the sweet treats get hand-glazed with “toxic” icing, then grab one to enjoy!

Put Roger the Alien from American Dad Back Together at the CIA Lab (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Oh no! Roger the Alien has been captured by the CIA again. Visitors passing through the Hulu Animayhem Factory will hear Roger calling out for help. Those who stop to help Roger will be transported into a CIA lab, where they’ll find his dissected organs scattered across the lab. Here, guests will team up to try and put Roger back together on the operating table in an “Operation-inspired” challenge! Win or lose, fans will get a chance to take a photo with Roger’s Golden Turd once they complete the game.

Sing Your Heart Out at “Bob’s Record-O-Matic” from Bob’s Burgers (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Bob’s Burgers is famously known for their huge catalog of end credit songs. The Hulu Animayhem Factory will feature ‘Bob’s Record-O-Matic,’ a recording studio where fans can dance and lip sync to a song of their choice with characters from the show. Once their performance is complete, participants will receive a shareable video for social!

Take a “Goobler Stress Test” with Solar Opposites (Hulu Original/20th Television Animation)

The Solar Opposites “Goobler Stress Test” machine measures fans’ stress levels – from totally chill like Terry to super stressed like Korvo. Fans will place their hands on a ‘stress sensor’ that determines how stressed they are. Based on the results, participants will receive a corresponding Goobler stress ball to hash out their frustrations on — purple for sorta stressed and red for really stressed.

Find the “Bonsai Master’s Sword” from Hit Monkey (Hulu Original/Marvel)

In the all-new season of Hit Monkey, fans learn that the titular assassin’s katana has an ancient sister sword. Guests will be challenged to find the “Bonsai Master’s Sword” in the Hit Monkey Katana factory. Guests will approach a large-scale installation with several katanas stuck in a forge, then they’ll choose which sword they believe is the “Bonsai Master’s Sword.” Only one will release and reveal itself to be the true sister sword. The guest who pulls the ancient sister sword will win an exclusive pack of Hit Monkey pins.

Take a Break with The Great North, Krapopolis, and Grimsburg

Every factory needs a break room. Guests will be invited to take some time to “R and R” after their long shifts at the Factory.

The Great North (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Visitors in the break room will be able to cool off from the San Diego heat and enjoy some fresh Alaskan air in the fridge from The Great North. By opening the refrigerator door, fans will get blasted with a shot of cool air while looking out across the vast Alaskan landscape with a great view of Tobin’s iconic house.

Krapopolis (FOX)

What’s a break room without a vending machine? The room will also feature a custom Krapopolis vending machine in the style of the show’s ancient Greek world. The vending machine is filled with memorable items and easter eggs from the show for guests to select. Each item triggers the machine to play the corresponding clip from the hilarious series.

Grimsburg (FOX)
Fans of Grimsburg, will also notice every true crime junkie’s obsession — a ‘Crime Board’ filled with suspect pictures, maps and clues from Detective Flute’s latest mysteries. Fans can pose with their favorite Grimsburg characters in front of the board for a shareable photo opp!

AMC Networks announced today its lineup of five star-studded series panels at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA, including the Walking Dead Universe series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and The Walking Dead: Dead City; the Anne Rice Immortal Universe series Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches; and the final season of Snowpiercer. Fans will get an exclusive first-look at trailers and teases from the highly anticipated second seasons of Dead City and Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, which premieres on Sunday, September 29 on AMC and AMC+. Attendees will be treated to an advance screening of the second episode of Snowpiercer’s final season, followed by a panel with cast and executive producers. Additionally, the casts and creative teams from Interview with the Vampire, which was recently renewed for a third season, and Mayfair Witches, returning early next year, will discuss their respective series and debut new teases. AMC Networks will also present a special advanced screening of Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol on Friday, July 26 at the Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero.

  • Snowpiercer panel on Friday, July 26, 11:15am-12:30pm, Ballroom 20

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the graphic novel series by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, and the film from Oscar®-winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). The action-packed finale of Season 3 left a split with Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) leading the Eternal Engine and those passengers who chose to stay aboard Snowpiercer for relative safety, and Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) leading the others on Big Alice choosing to adventure to the unknown, outside world of New Eden.

Fans will experience an exclusive advanced screening of an all-new episode of Snowpiercer (Season 4, Episode 2 – “The Sting of Survival”) before it debuts on Sunday, July 28 on AMC and AMC+. Afterwards, GRAMMY® and Tony® Award-winner Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Mike O’Malley, and executive producers Paul Zbyszewski and Christoph Schrewe will tease the series’ final season with a discussion and fan Q&A moderated by TV Guide Magazine’s Damian Holbrook.

  • The Walking Dead: Dead City panel on Friday, July 26, 1:45-2:45pm, Hall H

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows fan-favorite characters Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.

Having recently wrapped production on Season 2, the panel will feature an exclusive look at the new season, returning next year with panelists including Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer Eli Jorné, Executive Producer and Star Cohan, Executive Producer and Star Morgan, Cast Member Gaius Charles and Cast Member Željko Ivanek. The panel will be moderated by Chris Hardwick.

  • The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol on Friday, July 26, 2:45-3:45pm, Hall H

The new season picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet (Anne Charrier)’s movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France’s future.

Panelists include Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer David Zabel, Executive Producer and Director Greg Nicotero; Executive Producer and Star Reedus, Executive Producer and Star McBride and Cast Member Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. Moderated by Hardwick, the panel will debut the official trailer for the new season returning Sunday, September 29 at 9pm ET on AMC and AMC+.

  • Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches on Saturday, July 27, 5:00-6:15pm, Ballroom 20

In Interview with the Vampire in the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (JacobAnderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia, and it is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). Over two seasons, Interview has attracted a loyal base of passionate fans and widespread critical acclaim, with the rare distinction of receiving 98-point scores for both its first and second seasons on Rotten Tomatoes. The panel will feature Mark Johnson, who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, Showrunner and Executive Producer Rolin Jones, Production Designer Mara LePere-Schloop and cast members Sam Reid, Assad Zaman and Delainey Hayles. They will discuss the recent explosive second season and tease the recently announced third season.

Immediately following, the Mayfair Witches cast and creatives will take the stage to discuss their highly anticipated second season, returning early next year. Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, season two continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston). She is determined to understand what he has become – human or monster? – and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family. Joining the panel are Johnson, Showrunner Esta Spalding and cast members Daddario, Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, Huston, Ben Feldman and Alyssa Jirrels.
