Dragon Age: The Veilguard Reveals Voice Cast and Comic-Con Appearance

Electronic Arts Inc. and BioWare today announced the voiceover cast for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the new single-player fantasy RPG experience coming to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in Fall 2024. Taking up spell and sword as Dragon Age’s newest hero, Rook, players battle alongside an extraordinary cast of heroes known as the Veilguard, featuring voiceover work from a cast of new actors and returning favorites revealed today. Additionally, BioWare has announced the full details of their character-focused panel, titled “Dragon Age – Meet The Heroic Companions of Thedas,” taking place on Friday, July 26 at San Diego Comic-Con.

Our hero, Rook, debuts with four different English voice options – two North American and two British voices provided by notable television, film and video game personalities Erika Ishii (Apex Legends, Destiny 2), Jeff Berg (Battlefield 1, NCIS), Bryony Corrigan (Baldur’s Gate 3, Good Omens) and Alex Jordan (Cyberpunk 2077, The Amazing World of Gumball).

The game’s cast of companions includes:

Ali Hillis (Mass Effect 3, Naruto) returns to the fray as Harding, the dwarven scout, a Dragon Age: Inquisition hero with a big heart, a positive outlook, and a ready bow – as well as unexpected magical powers.
Ike Amadi (Mass Effect 3, Halo 5: Guardians, Insomniac’s Spider-Man) as Davrin, a bold and charming Grey Warden who has made a name for himself as a monster hunter.
Jee Young Han (Perry Mason, Unprisoned) as Bellara, a creative and romantic Veil Jumper obsessed with uncovering ancient secrets.
Jessica Clark (True Blood, Pocket Listing) as Neve, a cynic fighting for a better future, both as a private detective and a member of Tevinter’s rebellious Shadow Dragons.
Jin Maley (Star Trek: Picard, Silicon Valley) as Taash, a dragon hunter allied with the Lords of Fortune who lives for adventure and doesn’t mind taking risks.
Nick Boraine (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Black Sails) as Emmrich, a necromancer of Nevarra’s Mourn Watch who comes complete with a skeletal assistant, Manfred, voiced by Matthew Mercer (Critical Role, Fallout 4).
Zach Mendez (Horizon Forbidden West, Married Alive) as Lucanis, a poised & pragmatic assassin who descends from the bloodline of the House of Crows, a criminal organization renowned throughout Thedas.

Attendees will hear from the BioWare team as well as members of the cast played by Jessica Clark (Neve), Nick Boraine (Emmrich), Zach Mendez (Lucanis) and Ali Hillis (Harding) about their motivations and inspirations that have lit up the personalities and uniqueness of each companion.

The panel will be held on Friday, July 26 from 3:15PM – 4:15PM in Room 6BCF and will shine light on the voiceover actors’ experiences working on the game and give a glimpse at how bonds and connections will unfold through BioWare’s dynamic conversation system.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Ewoks’ continued adventures beyond the Star Wars films. During today’s Path of Exile livestream, “GGG Live,” developer Grinding Gear Games unveiled details for Path of Exile’s 3.25 update, Settlers of Kalguur. The July expansion introduces the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, balance improvements including two Ascendancy Class changes, Endgame improvements, further additions to the Campaign and a variety of quality of life (QoL) features for both PC and console players. Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur will launch on July 26th at 1 PM PDT.

In the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, players will help Kalguuran pioneers build the town of Kingsmarch and establish trade between Wraeclast and their homeland. Players will focus on mining exotic resources, hiring and protecting skilled workers to construct and defend the town, and build out a harbor to establish and manage trading. Once the town is constructed and trade is underway, players will be able to buy and sell currency and other stackable items in the Currency Trade Market, and craft and recombine powerful weapons and items on the Runesmithing Table.

Ascendancy classes will be refreshed with the addition of the new Warden class, as well as a rework of the Gladiator. The Warden will replace the Raider class, focusing on elemental attacks, damage mitigation and a specialization in Tinctures, which can now be found throughout the land. The Gladiator class maintains powerful skills for Bleeding and Block, along with receiving newly designed skills including the opportunity to invest in Retaliation Skills, a new type of skill that allows you to unleash devastating damage upon meeting certain conditions in combat.

Settlers of Kalguur will add a long list of balance work including drastic alterations to Melee Skills, Block, Rage, Warcries, Banners, Bleed, Impale, adding new Base Types to Endgame, buffed Modifiers on Endgame Items, buffed Critical Strike Chances on Weapons, and much more. Endgame content has been addressed with changes to many Scarabs, a 6th Map Device Slot, new encounters in Tier 16 and Tier 17 Maps, updates to Blight and Ritual and more. There will also be a set of new Chisel types and a massive increase in the drop rate of Valdo’s Puzzle Boxes.

Path of Exile players on consoles will be delighted to find that the game now takes full advantage of PS5 and Xbox Series hardware, with a huge reduction in load times and texture pop-in. Overall visual fidelity has been improved with the highest available resolution textures and water effects, and a new upscaling algorithm that improves the crispness of dynamic resolution, as well as an additional anti-aliasing pass.

Reflector Entertainment revealed an insightful look at UNKNOWN 9: AWAKENING, the narrative-driven action-adventure game based on the original IP. The developer walkthrough trailer features Christoper Rossignol, Creative Director at Reflector, who provides a deep look at gameplay and showcases the different combat styles and abilities of Haroona. Portrayed by British actress Anya Chalotra, the game’s protagonist Haroona is a mysterious Quaestor born with the ability to draw power from another dimension, on a quest to avenge the death of her mentor and save humanity. In the trailer, the developer provides commentary for exploration and different combat playstyles, from the most discreet stealth approach to the most destructive and explosive, and shows how to best make use of the stepping mechanic, where Haroona takes control of her enemies and places them in tactical positions to gain advantage in battle.
