After more than two decades, a team of industry veterans has united to bring back one of gaming’s most iconic brands. Acclaim, the legendary video game publisher known for its groundbreaking titles in the ‘80s and ‘90s, is officially returning with a bold vision aimed at revitalizing the gaming landscape.
Originally founded in 1987, the relaunch marks an exciting new chapter for the publisher, as it seeks to support indie developers and reignite classic franchises. Acclaim will provide much-needed resources such as funding, marketing and PR support, giving independent studios the opportunity to bring their creative visions to a broad audience.
One of the key goals for the relaunched Acclaim is to resurrect and revitalize its beloved portfolio of classic IP enjoyed for years by millions of players. To ensure this vision comes to life, Acclaim has assembled an advisory board comprised of esteemed industry leaders, including Russell Binder at Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan at Ridge Partners and Jeff Jarrett at Global Force Entertainment. Their vast experience and invaluable guidance will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Acclaim’s classic franchises and innovative ventures.
Acclaim’s growth strategy is further supported by key partners Phil Toronto, Partner at VaynerFund, and Eric Vogel, Partner at JET Management. Their expertise in investment and management will help foster an environment ripe for nurturing independent developers and driving long-term success alongside the advisory board’s leadership.
Acclaim’s leadership and board spans the entertainment industry—licensing icons, professional athletes, living music legends and seasoned veterans who have defined the intersection of video games and pop culture. Two-time Hall of Fame wrestler Jeff Jarrett, with over three decades of experience in the sports entertainment and video game industries, underscores how this wealth of expertise will shape the future of Acclaim.
“For more than three decades, I’ve had the privilege to have been a part of both the wrestling and gaming universes, and I’m thrilled to now be a partner in the revival of Acclaim, an iconic publisher known for releasing some of the most legendary games of the ‘80s and ‘90s,” said Jarrett. “From my early involvement with the publisher’s hit 16-bit WWF titles to my experience helping shape the TNA Wrestling series, which spawned the first video game wrestler to become a full-time roster member in the Squared Circle, I’ve seen firsthand the type of impact great games can have on players and fans. Resurrecting Acclaim is an opportunity to impart the same degree of passion and love to a new generation, and I’m excited to be involved.”
Tapped to spearhead the relaunch and growth of Acclaim as CEO, is games industry veteran Alex Josef, who brings more than two decades of experience marketing and publishing hundreds of games on PC, console and mobile.
“It’s an absolute honor and pleasure to be leading the charge in bringing Acclaim back to the forefront of the games industry,” said Alex Josef, CEO, “We’re fortunate that we have an extremely talented team and that we’ve already signed some incredible indie titles, which we’ll be revealing soon.”
Swedish indie game studio Polysoup Interactive has just launched a free update for Put the Sausage in the Bun on Steam.

The update also introduces native support for Crowd Control – the renowned app that lets viewers interact with the games played on stream in real-time. Viewers can make the streamers’ gameplay harder (or just more chaotic) unlocking new levels of trolling interaction with their favorite streamers on all platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, TikTok LIVE, and Discord.
Gaijin Entertainment announces that the “Hornet’s Sting” major content update for the military online shooter War Thunder will be released in mid-March. Three iconic maps will receive massive visual updates, and dozens of new military vehicles will join the fight. Some of the most interesting additions are the F/A-18 fighter jet, Hopkins Mk.I light tank, and HMS Warspite battleship.
The F/A-18 Hornet carrier-based fighter jet that has been used in most military conflicts where the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps have been involved in, including Libya, the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm, the Balkans and Afghanistan. In addition to the United States, other countries have operated the F/A-18 Hornet, including Canada, Finland, Australia, Kuwait and some more. It was also widely featured in popular culture, including blockbuster movies.
The Hornet’s Sting update will bring American F/A-18A and F/A-18C variants, as well as Finnish F/A-18C, all of them featuring a bit different set of available weapons and combat systems. One of those is the Walleye II ER/DL guided bomb equipped with a thermal imaging homing head.
The Mk VIII Light Tank, the Harry Hopkins, was designed in late 1941 in order to replace the Mk VII Tetrarch, with the primary goal of increasing the overall armor protection. It features 38 mm of armor on the turret and hull, with the latter having some decent sloping, enough to stop hits from some of the weaker shells, which is more than most light tanks can boast. AP shells of its fast-firing 40 mm cannon can get through a max of 89 mm of armor, and the APHE can be similarly destructive.
Advance to the Rhine, Sinai and Jungle have all undergone major visual overhauls. Artists have replaced the models with better looking and more authentic ones, updated the textures, added more vegetation and decorative elements, while preserving the overall layout and design. For example, a railway and telegraph line have been added between the main combat areas and the water channel in Sinai. The Jungle map also received gameplay improvements, offering more balanced terrain traversal options.
More information on Hornet’s Sting update is available on the official website of the game.

Eureka Entertainment is proud to announce the release of TERROR IN THE FOG: THE WALLACE KRIMI AT CCC, five crime thrillers produced by Artur Brauner adapted from the works of British crime writer Bryan Edgar Wallace and his father Edgar Wallace. Available in a 4-Disc Blu-ray collection as part of The Masters of Cinema Series on May 27, 2025 in North America. The Limited edition boxed set of 2000 copies (per territory) will exclusively feature a hardbound slipcase and 60-page collector’s book.
In the 1960s, a cycle of crime films – or krimis – became hugely popular with West German audiences. Adapted from works by the British crime writer Edgar Wallace and his son Bryan Edgar Wallace, they combined the traditional murder mystery with horror as they depicted enigmatic killers stalking their victims through foggy English landscapes – from the streets of London to isolated rural mansions. Following the early success of the cycle after the release of Face of the Frog and The Crimson Circle, veteran producer Artur Brauner launched into his own series of Wallace krimis with his company CCC Film. Presented here are five key films drawn from CCC’s krimi cycle.
In The Curse of the Yellow Snake, a mysterious cult wishes to lay its hands on an ancient artifact that has been brought to London from Hong Kong. The Strangler of Blackmoor Castle sees a masked murderer stalk the grounds of a vast British estate – one who brands his victims’ foreheads with the letter “M.” London is faced with dual threats in The Mad Executioners, as a gang of hooded vigilantes roams the streets while a sadistic serial killer is on the loose. Jack the Ripper lives on in The Monster of London City, as a series of brutal murders brings panic to the British capital. Finally, in The Racetrack Murders (or The Seventh Victim), people are dropping like flies in and around a stately home – and the murders might just have something to do with the owner’s prized racehorse.
With its masked killers, labyrinthine plots and gothic atmosphere, the Wallace krimi blended crime, thriller, and horror elements into a potent mix that had a significant influence on both the Italian giallo and the American slasher film. The Masters of Cinema series is proud to present five of Artur Brauner’s Wallace adaptations for the first time on Blu-ray in the US from new restorations provided by CCC Film, alongside a wealth of special features – including a bonus film presented in standard definition, The Phantom of Soho.
Special Features:

• Limited edition hardbound slipcase featuring new artwork by Poochamin
• Limited edition 60-page collector’s book featuring a new introduction to the Wallace krimi cycle by film writer Howard Hughes, a new essay on Edgar Wallace and Bryan Edgar Wallace by crime fiction expert Barry Forshaw and new notes on each film by Holger Haase, co-editor of Krimi! Magazine

undertaken by CCC Film
• The Phantom of Soho (Franz Josef Gottlieb, 1964) – bonus feature (presented in SD)

Don’t Torture a Duckling (4K) (UK/IE/ US/CAN): When the sleepy rural village of Accendura is rocked by a series of murders of young boys, the superstitious locals are quick to apportion blame, with the suspects including the local “witch”, Maciara (Florinda Bolkan, A Lizard in a Woman’s Skin). With the bodies piling up and the community gripped by panic and a thirst for bloody vengeance, two outsiders – city journalist Andrea (Tomas Milian, The Four of the Apocalypse) and spoilt rich girl Patrizia (Barbara Bouchet, The Red Queen Kills Seven Times) – team up to crack the case. But before the mystery is solved, more blood will have been spilled, and not all of it belonging to innocents… Deemed shocking at the time for its brutal violence, depiction of the Catholic Church and themes of child murder and paedophilia, Don’t Torture a Duckling is widely regarded today as Fulci’s greatest film, rivalling the best of his close rival Dario Argento.
The March lineup comes to a close with new treats strictly for subscribers west of the Atlantic Ocean.
On March 28, cross blades with Samurai Wolf (US) and Samurai Wolf II (US).
Samurai Wolf (US): Isao Natsuyagi stars as Kiba, a charismatic ronin who wanders into a small town and ends up ensnared in a local conflict that becomes increasingly treacherous. After dispatching a pair of highway criminals seen robbing a courier wagon, Kiba agrees to assist a beautiful blind woman who runs the local shipping company. Double- and triple-crosses ensue, illustrated with savage but economical violence courtesy of famed director Hideo Gosha (Three Outlaw Samurai, Violent Streets). The result is a lean and mean triumph of samurai cinema, cementing Gosha’s status as a master of the genre.
Samurai Wolf II (US): Charismatic ronin Kiba (Isao Natsuyagi) returns, once again entangled in a complex web of intrigue, involving a crooked goldmine owner, a cynical swordsman, and an arrogant dojo master. Master filmmaker Hideo Gosha brings his trademark tight pacing and stylish action to this brisk morality play, inevitably punctuated by the explosions of violent swordplay beloved by fans of the genre.
On March 31, close out your month on ARROW with an icon of the genre and its recent legacy sequel.
I Spit On Your Grave (US/CAN): An aspiring writer is repeatedly assaulted, humiliated, and left for dead by four men she systematically hunts down to seek revenge.
I Spit On Your Grave: Déjà Vu (US/CAN): Following her rape, Jennifer Hills wrote a bestselling account of her ordeal and of the controversial trial in which she was accused of taking the law into her own hands and brutally killing her assailants. In the small town where the rape and revenge took place, the relatives of the rapists she killed are furious that the court declared her not guilty and resolve to take justice into their own hands.
