As a Sleeper, the player will struggle to survive alongside Pamela as they explore the once vibrant utopian city. Uncover the tragic events that lead to the downfall of a civilization, and fight for your life as the broken citizens of Eden defend their home against your intrusion. With a personality-driven AI system, no encounter will be the same as the Afflicted react in unpredictable ways, driven by their excruciating pain and disfiguring disease. Interact with various factions, including the Afflicted citizens, security droids, robotic custodians, and more. Each faction has its own unique behaviors and alliances, and will react dynamically to the player’s behavior to become allies, or enemies.

Experience tense gameplay in a richly developed, believable sci-fi universe. Each decision is meaningful, and each encounter could be your last. Wield and customize an array of modular equipment to defend yourself and explore the environment. Utilize an immersive UI that incorporates full body awareness, where the player’s involvement in the world is never broken. Manage the power reserves of the city, using energy only when necessary to avoid the dangers of being stuck in the dark. Upgrade your weaponry, and construct a safe haven to defend against the denizens of Eden. Enhancing your body with Bio-Augmentations will give you an advantage over your enemies, but at what cost? Every decision has consequences in Eden.

Can you survive the future?

Survival Horror Game Syndrome Announcement Trailer

syndrome-screenshot

September 30, 2015 – You wake up on a spaceship, dazed and confused from the effects of cryosleep, and begin to search for the rest of the crew. Where could they have gone? All too suddenly, you discover that most of them are dead, and those still alive are… changed.

Watch the trailer now on YouTube:

With Syndrome, Camel 101 takes first person survival horror back to its roots. In the dark confines of the ship, defending yourself is difficult and not always possible. There are a few weapons scattered about, but nowhere near enough ammunition to deal with all the transformed monstrosities.

To survive and uncover the events that took place while you were asleep, you can’t always face your enemies head on; sometimes hiding and breathing as noiselessly as possible is your best course of action.

Careful resource management is a key part of Syndrome, but so is learning your enemies’ behavior. What will attract their attention? What will give you a few precious seconds to pass by undetected? Take note―each misstep could be deadly.

Main Features

  • Claustrophobic horror―Countless threats, both physical and psychological, await inside the ship.
  • Fight or flee―Use weapons and ammo wisely, as they are in limited supply.
  • Eerie exploration―there’s plenty to discover if you take a moment to search your surroundings.
  • Nothing is what it seems―It’s up to you to find out what’s really going on aboard the ship.
  • Reactive enemies―Cause a stir or make some noise and they’ll pick up on your location.
  • Oculus Rift support―Experience total immersion with Syndrome in VR.

Camel 101 is pleased to partner with Bigmoon Entertainment on Syndrome, out Q2 2016 for Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, Mac, and Linux.

BattleTech Creator Brings Franchise to Kickstarter

BATTLETECH-01

KIRKLAND, WA (September 29, 2015) – Today, indie game studio Harebrained Schemes launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to co-fund development of its highly-anticipated BATTLETECH game for PC.

Jordan Weisman, studio co-founder and creator of the popular BattleTech and MechWarrior franchises, will be leading development of the title alongside Mike McCain, Creative Director of the studio’s much-lauded Shadowrun series.

BATTLETECH will be a turn-based game of tactical ‘Mech combat for PC, Mac, and Linux. On Kickstarter, Harebrained Schemes is asking backers to join them in co-funding the development of the game using a similar approach to what they did with the Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter earlier this year.

Harebrained has divided the feature-set for BATTLETECH into four distinct funding stages on Kickstarter, with the first of those stages self-funded by the studio. A detailed description of each BATTLETECH co-funding stage (including an expanded single-player campaign and PVP multiplayer) can be found on the game’s Kickstarter page – along with an exciting variety of physical and digital rewards that are sure to appeal to longtime BattleTech fans.

BATTLETECH-11

“Returning to classic BattleTech, particularly the 3025 Succession Wars Era, feels like coming home,” said Weisman. “I’m really happy to join with Kickstarter Backers to create an authentic BattleTech PC game with detailed tactical turn-based ‘Mech combat and a chance to experience an epic game setting that’s endured for over 30 years.”

“This is a passion project for us,” said Mitch Gitelman, co-founder and Studio Manager of Harebrained Schemes and producer of the classic MechCommander series. “Ever since we formed the studio, the team has been itching for a chance to make a BattleTech game and they can’t wait to bring BattleTech’s incredible setting to life. It’s a universe filled with intrigue, cutthroat politics, and fascinating characters. That’s right up our alley.”

A Shared Universe

BattleTech is a dynamic science fiction setting that spans centuries. It is also a shared universe that has evolved over 30 years, in tabletop miniatures games and sourcebooks, along with a series of over two hundred novels, comics, and dozens of computer games.

BATTLETECH-05

Although Weisman created the BattleTech Universe, Harebrained Schemes is working closely with Catalyst Game Labs, the current publisher of the BattleTech tabletop board games and novels, to ensure an authentic BattleTech experience. Piranha Games, creators of MechWarrior Online, are also sharing their incredible roster of highly-detailed ‘Mech models with Harebrained Schemes for BATTLETECH, to create continuity across the BattleTech Universe.

A Kickstarter Success Story

In 2012, Harebrained Schemes funded the development of Shadowrun Returns and in 2013 became the first video game company to deliver a $1M+ Kickstarter-funded game to their Backers. More importantly, the game was critically acclaimed, appeared on many Best of 2013 lists and was awarded Game of the Year from Hardcore Gamer.

Their next title, Shadowrun: Dragonfall, was initially released as DLC and was given to Kickstarter Backers for free. Last September, the studio released Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut, a standalone upgrade that was free to all Dragonfall DLC owners. The Director’s Cut was one of the highest-rated PC Games of the year, appeared on many Best of 2014 lists, and was awarded Game of the Year from RPG Gamer.

Late in 2013, the studio brought Golem Arcana to Kickstarter, changing the way tabletop miniatures games are played with an innovative connection to the power of a smartphone or tablet. The game delivers the richness and tactical depth of other miniatures boardgames without the hassles because the free Golem Arcana app handles all the rules and record keeping, freeing up the players to concentrate on devising strategies and having fun. Golem Arcana was listed as one of Game Informer’s Best TableTop Games of 2014, and won an Origins Award for Best Miniatures Figure Rules by the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design.

In January 2015, Harebrained Schemes went back to Kickstarter to co-fund a third Shadowrun title set in Hong Kong. The Kickstarter campaign proved a smashing success and Shadowrun: Hong Kong was delivered on time in August 2015 to strong reviews and very positive backer reactions.
