Blizzard Announces Fourth Diablo III Class to be the Monk

*UPDATE – See the Monk gameplay footage here.

At the 2009 BlizzCon today, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled the fourth playable class in Diablo III to be the Monk (the rightmost class pictured). The class is said to be a master of hand-to-hand combat and looks to be a blast to play.

What we do know about Mr. Monk (no, not Tony Shaloub although we like him too) is that he will have a mastery of hand-to-hand techniques as well as staff and mace combat. He will also be able to use minor magics and abilities such as casting a mystical shield to protect himself (considering he will not be a heavily armored class).

More to come as we get our chance to play Mr. Monk later at BlizzCon!

I just hope they support the PC as well as consoles.
