Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan Announcement Trailer

Picture a capital city that shines like a gemstone, improved by the wealth drawn from the hinterland – decorated by riches demanded from vassals. A capital not of a mighty territorial empire, but of a compact and concentrated state that can still use gold and favors to influence neighbors and rivals. Picture it and then make it so in Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan.

Leviathan is the newest expansion to Paradox’s flagship grand strategy game about the early modern world. Leviathan offers new tools that allow you to play “tall” with smaller and more focused realms with a few centers of power. It also has a host of other changes to well-established game features like Regencies and Colonies.

Among other things, Leviathan gives you new ways to quickly develop your capital, drawing resources and power from vassals or newly conquered territories, and allows you to build beyond your province’s construction limit if you are willing to pay the price.

Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan will be accompanied by a major free update that reworks the Southeast Asian and Australasian maps, with new nations, new cultures and new religions. This fascinating region of powerful monarchs and rich merchants takes on new color and offers new ways to play.

RAILGRADE Announcement Trailer Released

Publisher The Irregular Corporation (Murder By Numbers, PC Building Simulator) and developer Minakata Dynamics have today announced RAILGRADE, a new railway construction strategy game coming to Steam later this year. Featuring more than 30 distinctive campaign missions, RAILGRADE is a unique new twist on the genre where the player must construct railway routes and efficiently deliver valuable resources in order to help rebuild a failing off-world economy. Players can try RAILGRADE for themselves right now with a playable demo on Steam, and the game will also be featured in the Steam Game Festival later today.

RAILGRADE takes place in a dark, near-future where off-world colonies packed with rich resources are harvested by greedy corporations. However your employer, Nakatani Chemicals, has lost control of one colony following a complete economic collapse – so it’s now up to the player to salvage what’s left using retrofitted train transport. Develop a vast distribution and logistics network on this faraway planet by controlling the construction of new tracks, and employ strategic routes to efficiently deliver valuable cargo.

Using easy construction tools, you’ll need to conquer geography, manage costs, and increase production to create perfect routes with a steady workflow. As your railways begin to bring in capital, you can profit by exporting extra goods via zeppelins, or construct new buildings to help continue the growth of cities. Harness the distribution power of your fleet of customizable trains, while also managing the production process, to maintain a steady flow of resources to your cities which will soon flourish.

Interested applicants to Nakatani Chemicals can download a demo for the game right now on Steam, as part of the Steam Games Festival that starts later today. The demo will give players a glimpse of the future of commerce, with the game’s first two missions featured in the single player campaign mode.

Battlepalooza Launch Trailer

nWay, the developer of Power Rangers: Legacy Wars and WWE Undefeated and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced that its multiplayer battle royale game Battlepalooza is now available for iOS and Android devices. The over-the-top battle royale pits 24 live contestants against each other for exclusive prizes and valuable gear, all in arenas based on real-world cities utilizing actual geospatial data from the Google Maps Platform.

Designed for players of all skill levels, Battlepalooza’s combat utilizes a unique blend of strategy, skill, and a bit of luck — fast reflexes and quick trigger fingers must be supplemented by tactical thinking. The game’s arena-based battles are large-scale, high-action brawls that rely on the equipment loadout of a Role-Playing Game (RPG) and the character progression of a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). The game’s arsenal of outrageous weapons creates a wholly unique gameplay experience on the go: gravity bombs, invisibility gear, sticky honey guns, and other wildly imaginative weapons are all at your disposal as you take on the competition.

Battlepalooza allows up to 24 players to team up with their friends in groups of two or three to play together with a drop-in drop-out feature for easy matchmaking. The game uses the nWayPlay social platform for the friends list and the chat system, and also supports the creation of team codes for streamers to allow their viewers to easily drop in on their game sessions.

Battlepalooza’s premise is a worldwide battle royale game show that utilizes virtual arenas based on real-world cities. The winning players and teams are awarded with NCoins that can be used to purchase unique, limited edition skins for both weapons and characters. These limited edition skins can be traded among players in the game’s marketplace feature.

Battlepalooza was developed in collaboration with Google‘s Real-World Games team and uses the Google Maps Platform to transform real-world cities into the game’s playable battle arenas. The game will initially feature Las Vegas and San Francisco, with more city arenas to be added on a continual basis.
