Mortal Kombat 11 Masquerade Skin Pack Reveal Trailer

October 17, 2019 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today announced a free Halloween themed in-game event coming to Mortal Kombat 11 from Oct. 25 through Nov. 1. The chilling seasonal event will bring a haunted vibe to Mortal Kombat 11, the No. 1 selling console game in the U.S. year-to-date*, with a variety of frightening content in celebration of the upcoming holiday, including four new boss fights with different Halloween themed modifiers in the form of flying witches and bats, falling pumpkins, rising gravestones and sprinting black cats that will be integrated into these matches. Players will also be able to earn new Brutalities, Halloween-specific consumables, player module pieces and other in-game rewards.

Additionally, players can purchase the new Masquerade Skin Pack for $5.99 (SRP) beginning today (Oct. 17), featuring themed character skins for Jade (‘Wicked Witch Jade’), Kabal (‘Psyko Killer Kabal’) and Liu Kang (‘Calavera Liu Kang’).

Players can also check out the brand-new Team Raid multiplayer mode, available tomorrow (Oct. 18) as a free update for all Mortal Kombat 11 owners. Team Raid will bring a new multiplayer Tower to the Towers of Time mode, where two or three players must work together as a team to complete group challenges and defeat one powerful boss, all at the same time, to earn in-game rewards.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack is the best way to upgrade the Mortal Kombat 11 game experience with new DLC, featuring six characters, numerous skin and gear sets and one-week early access for all content. Six Flags Great Adventure Announces Winner of 30-Hour Coffin Challenge

October 16, 2019 – Jackson, NJ – Six Flags Great Adventure crowned a winner of the 30-Hour Coffin Challenge – Halloween fanatic Amanda Roberts of Hopatcong, NJ. Roberts fearlessly plowed through a variety of harrowing challenges, survived her claustrophobic coffin, endured limited bathroom and phone breaks and earned the most points to win the competition. She ate pork brains, fished items from a jar of hissing Madagascar cockroaches, bobbed for candy corns in green baby food, tolerated pungent smells and the Baby Shark song on repeat, and withstood visits from Fright Fest freaks and Six Flags critters like a tarantula, skunk and boa constrictor. She took home $600, a pair of 2020 Gold Season Passes, Haunted Maze Express Passes and a small replica of her full-sized coffin.

Runners up were:

  • 2nd Place: Kerri Platt of Forked River, NJ – A 47-year-old mom who nearly died in childbirth, and last year donated a kidney to save her mother’s life;
  • 3rd Place: John Nash of Seaside Heights, NJ – An Army Ranger who completed the challenge with his daughter, Alairra Craven;
  • 4th Place: Mike Markawicz of Ridley Park, PA – A paramedic who was inspired by a strange happening at a family viewing;
  • 5th Place: Cricket Alanis of Bayshore, NY — 53-year-old mom of three who is a cancer survivor and worked as a funeral director; and
  • 6th Place: Alairra Craven of Seaside Heights, NJ – 18-year-old Craven just completed Army basic training, following in the footsteps of her father, Army Ranger John Nash.

All runners up took home park passes and Fright Fest souvenirs.

The Munsters star Butch Patrick, who played Eddie Munster, helped emcee the two-day event and presented the winners with their prizes and autographed photos.

6,000 people applied for the 30-Hour Coffin Challenge in 2019, up from 4,300 applicants in 2018. Contestants were selected based on the creativity of their essay. Fright Fest runs weekend and select days through Nov. 3.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Delayed

October 16, 2019 – Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs have shifted the launch window for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The game will no longer launch in Q1 2020, but later in the year.

Over the last few months, it has become clear to Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs that hitting the original launch time frame of Q1 2020 would risk shipping a game that does not meet the ambitions that the developer and publisher share. This decision has been made to ensure that Paradox and Harsuit deliver the best Bloodlines 2 experience possible.

Virgin Galactic and Under Armour Unveil Spacewear System for Astronauts

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2019 – In January 2019, Virgin Galactic Founder Sir Richard Branson and Under Armour CEO and Founder Kevin Plank announced a collaboration which saw Under Armour become Virgin Galactic’s Technical Spacewear Partner. Today, the companies unveiled the collaboratively designed spacewear system for Virgin Galactic astronauts comprising of a base layer, spacesuit, footwear, training suit and Limited Edition astronaut jacket. It is the first such collection ever created specifically for private astronauts.

The design of astronaut apparel is a unique combination of the requirement for comfort and utility matched by the ultimate focus on customer experience. Every element of the Virgin Galactic customer journey is designed to enrich the profound and transformative qualities of the human spaceflight experience. For Virgin Galactic Future Astronauts, that life-changing, personal experience is eagerly anticipated and the newly unveiled spacewear has been specifically designed to support it.

“Virgin Galactic gave us an exciting challenge to build the world’s first commercial spacesuit,” said Kevin Plank. “Innovation is at the core of everything we do and our team delivered a unique twist on the classic spacesuit utilizing both existing and new UA technologies to define space gear for the future.  It is an incredible opportunity to showcase our key performance innovations in space at the highest level and continue to push the limits of human performance.”

From the initial brief through to final fabrication, the suit design concepts were defined through inputs from a wide variety of experts, including doctors, astronaut trainers, pilots, apparel and footwear designers, engineers and Future Astronaut customers, to fully understand and address all requirements.

Safety is Virgin Galactic’s North Star and underlined the choice of materials and other key design considerations. The spacesuit is made from lightweight flight-grade fabrics, with cushioning in elbows, knees and in the footwear, to provide safety in out-of-seat zero gravity. The spacesuits are complemented by training suits which will help to optimize the effectiveness of astronaut preparation in the days immediately before spaceflight. The spacewear materials have been rigorously tested in laboratory conditions which match the measured environment at all stages of spaceflight. The system will also be worn by Virgin Galactic Mission Specialists on board VSS Unity’s crewed test spaceflights, prior to commercial flights which are currently expected to commence in 2020.

Spacesuits will be personally tailored for each astronaut; a great fit combined with bold and progressive aesthetics provide the first visible evidence of a journey of transformation, inspiring self-confidence and self-assuredness. While immediately identifying wearers as astronauts and as part of a mission, the spacesuits also provide differentiated features that recognize and celebrate each astronaut’s personal journey. Country flags and name badges build on traditions of the past, while suit pockets dedicated to personal effects include an inside transparent pocket for photographs of loved ones, who will literally be close to the heart.

Comfort has always been fundamental to Under Armour’s approach to performance enhancement and the new spacewear system follows this mantra, informing fabric choice, structure and fit.  Temperature management, for example, is regulated by performance fibers and knit density, mapped to the body to provide perfect warmth and moisture management, while preventing overheating or chilling.  Great care has also been taken to ensure the spacewear design is fully woven into cabin design, in particular with the spaceship’s seats where integration with harnesses and seat contours ensures comfort, particularly during the high G portions of flight.

The unveil event in New York showcased the spacewear system on a zero gravity, vertical catwalk, led by Sir Richard Branson in the spacesuit he will wear on Virgin Galactic’s inaugural commercial spaceflight.
