Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm Announcement Trailer

New York, NY – November 20, 2018– 2K and Firaxis Games announced today that Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI: Gathering Storm, the second expansion pack for the critically acclaimed and award-winning Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI, will be available for Windows PC on February 14, 2019.

Civilization VI: Gathering Storm will introduce an active planet where geology and climatology present unique new challenges. Players will build new Engineering Projects, manage their cities’ Power and Consumable Resources and work with other world leaders in the World Congress to deal with the challenges presented by the dynamic forces of nature. This new expansion also extends the Technology and Civics trees with a future era and adds nine new leaders from eight new civilizations, a new Diplomatic Victory condition, a variety of new units, districts, wonders, buildings and more.

Key features for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm include:

  • ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS: Volcanoes, storms (blizzards, sand storms, tornados and hurricanes), climate change, floods and droughts will bring the world to life in a brand new way. Settlement choices are more important than ever for players as they balance high risks and high rewards;
  • POWER AND CONSUMABLE RESOURCES: Strategic resources play an additional role in Civilization VI: Gathering Storm. These resources are now consumed in power plants to generate electricity for cities. Initially, players’ advanced buildings will be powered by burning carbon-based resources like Coal and Oil, but renewable energy sources also unlock as players progress to current-day technologies. The choices a player makes about resource usage will directly affect the world’s temperature and can cause melting ice caps and rising sea levels;
  • ENGINEERING PROJECTS: Players can now shape the world around their empires to overcome unfavorable land conditions by making improvements like canals, dams, tunnels and railroads. When settling cities, players will need to consider the flood risk to coastal lowland areas, but keep in mind that in the late-game, new technologies like Flood Barriers can be used to protect these tiles;
  • WORLD CONGRESS: For the first time in Civilization VI, players can make their voices heard among the other leaders of the world. Along the way, they can earn Diplomatic Favor through Alliances, influence city-states, compete in World Games and more. In addition, they can use Diplomatic Favor to extract promises from other leaders, vote on Resolutions, call a Special Session to address an emergency and increase the weight of votes in their quests to achieve the new Diplomatic Victory;
  • 21st CENTURY TECHNOLOGIES & CIVICS: A new era has been added to the Technology and Civics trees. As well, players will combat new environmental effects with speculative ideas, such as relocating their populations out to seasteads and developing technologies to recapture carbon emissions;
  • NEW LEADERS AND CIVS: Nine new leaders from eight new civilizations are introduced. Each brings unique bonuses and gameplay, as well as a total of nine unique units, four unique buildings, three unique improvements, two unique districts and one unique governor;
  • NEW SCENARIOS:
    • The Black Death: The Black Death ravaged Europe and western Asia in the mid-14th century, killing a greater share of the population than any other event in world history. The player’s task is to lead his or her nation through the calamity: keep the population alive, the economy strong and faith unshaken amidst a world of terror and desperation;
    • War Machine: At the outset of WWI, the German Imperial Army had a daring plan: invade neutral Belgium and then rush the French heartland before its leaders could mobilize to resist. When war was declared, both armies swung into motion and set up one of the most incredible and shocking military campaigns in world history. In this multiplayer scenario, players take the side of one of these two great powers at this same precipice. The clock is ticking, and the enemy is moving;
  • MORE NEW CONTENT: Civilization VI: Gathering Storm will introduce seven new world wonders, seven natural wonders, 18 new units, 15 new improvements, nine new buildings, five new districts, two new city sets, nine new techs and 10 new civics;
  • IMPROVED GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS: The Espionage system will be enhanced with new options. In addition, the Culture and Science Victories have been updated, new Historic Moments have been added and additional improvements have been made to other existing systems.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire -The Forgotten Sanctum DLC Release Date

Irvine, California – November 20th, 2018 – Genre-defining RPG developer Obsidian Entertainment, in partnership with indie powerhouse publisher Versus Evil, is today announcing that the final paid expansion, titled “The Forgotten Sanctum” for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, will arrive on December 13th.

“The Forgotten Sanctum” brings a new adventure to the Deadfire Archipelago as the Archmages of Eora seek the Watcher to assist in keeping a potential catastrophe that looks to be set by a fellow Archmage at bay. With new quests and an immense dungeon to explore, the Forgotten Sanctum awaits those brave enough to enter.

Frostpunk Endless Mode Out Now

November 19th, 2018 — 11 bit studios is proud to announce that Frostpunk’s most awaited expansion – Endless Mode – has released today on Steam, GOG.com, Humble Store, and more. As planned, and as promised in the development roadmap, the expansion is free for all owners of the base game.

In the time since it was announced, Endless Mode is the expansion we have seen the most feedback about on our forums, on Twitter, Facebook, and directly by email. In fact, while it was originally teased in the roadmap, the idea had taken hold within the community since the original launch of Frostpunk in April.

Forged over months at 11 bit studios, it now goes live and introduces two styles of endless play: ‘Serenity’ for the constructors who enjoy growing the city at their own pace without hard challenges, and ‘Endurance’ for survivalists looking to earn their stripes and see how long they’re able to live in the harsh cold world of Frostpunk. In both modes, new buildings are introduced to enrich the city’s architecture (including an Archives building that enables players to store lore and information in a single area), new sites can be discovered in the frostland, and new random events that may confront you with previously unknown challenges. Divinity: Original Sin 2 The Dark Eye Game Master Mode Trailer

19th November, 2018 – Ghent, Belgium – Having won over 200 awards (including a 2018 BAFTA) across three platforms, and selling more than two million copies, independently-developed Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition is receiving a special update that includes an exclusive GM campaign for Game Master mode.

Larian Studios has joined forces with Ulisses Spiele, creators of the hugely successful Dark Eye tabletop RPG, to bring Divinity players into a new world of magic and mystery. Written and designed by Ulisses, with cooperation from Larian developers, the Prison of Shadow GM campaign brings a comprehensive set of the tools that will allow every Game Master and their team to dive into the thrilling and dangerous world of The Dark Eye.

Prison of Shadows is a brand new adventure suitable for Dark Eye newcomers and veterans alike, designed for a Game Master and 3-5 players. In the adventure, heroes enter an abandoned dwarven city in search of a dangerous artifact. There, they will fight a desperate battle against cultists of the Nameless God.

Revisiting The Dark Eye setting takes Larian back to its roots in tabletop roleplaying, which has always been at the heart of the studio’s design philosophies. Developing the Prison of Shadows adventure involved bringing the past to life, and a camera crew was on hand to document the process. Their final footage, delivered to Larian in an envelope sealed with an unknown arcane symbol, can be seen below.

This Game Master adventure will be automatically included in the Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steam update on 21st November 2018, and is designed for both new and experienced Game Masters and their parties.

Divinity: Original Sin 2’s innovative Game Master Mode bridges the gap between the creativity and improvisation of a tabletop role-playing campaign, and the immersion of a computer RPG. This system was created with a single goal; to empower the Game Master so they can tell great stories and lead up to four players through a world of their own creation.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Unveils Operation Wind Bastion Details

SAN FRANCISCO — November 18, 2018 — Today, Ubisoft announced the full details of the fourth and last season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege third year of content. Operation Wind Bastion introduces an all-new Attacker and a Defender, Nomad and Kaid respectively, as well as a new map called Fortress, which is a military training facility and also Kaid’s home. Furthermore, in Year 3 Season 4, the Rainbow Six Siege shop will be redesigned to improve the user experience. For example, the shop will feature a new full screen view for weapons, a new light theme, and the possibility for players to browse left and right within a category among many other changes.

In this new season, one Attacker and one Defender, Nomad and Kaid will join the Rainbow Six Siege Operator lineup. Armed with her AK-74M and ARX200, Nomad uses her airjab launcher and proximity triggered air blast grenade to propel Defenders out of cover and expose them to the attacking team. In the meantime, Kaid uses his Rtila Electroclaw to electrify all metallic objects in proximity: reinforced walls, barbed wire, deployable shields. His AUG A3 and TCSG12 makes him a powerful Defender and counter to hard breacher.

In addition to these two new Rainbow recruits, players will be able to explore the new Fortress map, a mudbrick Kasbah inspired by the iconic architecture from the southern region of Morocco. It is a military training facility that features a good rotation between floors, an accessible roof and many dangerous lines of sight and flanking routes.

The Test Server for Operation Wind Bastion will go live on November 19. The Test Server is an alternative version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, allowing players to test upcoming gameplay features that will make their way into the main game itself. Since this is a testing environment, a consistent gameplay experience is not guaranteed on the Test Server. Players are invited to submit the issues they encounter on the Test Server on the R6 Fix platform. The Test Server is exclusive to Windows PC.

Mountain High Expected to Open Thanksgiving Weekend

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. – Nov. 19, 2018 – Ski season has returned to Southern California and Mountain High expects to open either this Saturday, November 24 or Sunday, November 25, conditions permitting. Guests can expect top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding at the West Resort and snow play activities at the new Yeti Snow Park at the East Resort.

“Our Opening Day special will knock your boots off because the first 100 paying guests receive free skiing for a month,” said John McColly, Mountain High vice president of sales and marketing. “There is no better way to start your season! We hope to see you here.”

The first 100 paying adults to Mountain High on Opening Day receive free skiing or snowboarding for a month or until December 21, whichever comes first. Early season single day tickets are just $59 for adults. Kids 12 and under ski free though December 21 when accompanied by a paying adult ($25 without). Ticket prices are subject to change without notice.

Parking lots will open at 6:00 a.m. on Opening Day and ticket booths will open at 7:00 a.m. No camping or placeholding will be allowed overnight, so plan to arrive early.

Early season operating hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends. Daily operations are expected to begin Thanksgiving weekend with night sessions starting seven days a week on December 15. The Big Pines base lodge opens daily at 8:00 a.m. along with tickets, rentals, guest services and the season pass office.

All amenities with the exception of lessons will be available at Mountain High on Opening Day including rentals, retail, repair, guest services and more.

D23 Unveils Events for 2019

BURBANK, Calif. – November 16, 2018 – In 2019, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will celebrate its 10th anniversary and, to mark the occasion, D23 is adding extra pixie dust to some of its most popular events while introducing new experiences, as well.

RETURN TO WALT’S BIRTHPLACE: In 2016 and 2017, D23 Members had the amazing opportunity to visit Walt Disney’s birthplace in Chicago. The home, which is being restored, was constructed by Walt’s father, Elias, and designed by his mother, Flora. This June, D23 Members will have the chance to see the incredible progress made on bringing the home back to its initial glory.

SCREENINGS ON THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS LOT AND AT WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT: Throughout the year, D23 will once again offer special screenings on both coasts of classic Disney favorites. As part of D23’s anniversary celebration, all the films screened will also be celebrating milestones, including Up (10th anniversary), Sleeping Beauty (60th), Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom(35th), and The Lion King (25th).

THE OFFICIAL WALT DISNEY STUDIOS TOUR—PRESENTED BY D23: D23 Gold Member-exclusive tours of the historic Studio lot return and, for 2019, the tour—traditionally held four times a year—will run monthly starting in March and will include VIP experiences on select tours. Guests are able to take a look inside the Walt Disney Archives and see Walt Disney’s office suite during the tour, which offers fans a unique perspective on historic moments from Disney films, television shows, and theme parks.

D23’S LUNCH WITH A DISNEY LEGEND: Beginning in January, D23 brings back these exclusive luncheons with Disney luminaries.
