Destiny 2: The Final Shape Pushed to June 2024

Hey everyone. We’ll keep it short and simple. The Final Shape needs more time to become exactly what we want it to be, so we’re moving its release date to June 4, 2024.

The Final Shape is the culmination of the first ten years of Destiny storytelling and, for Guardians everywhere, countless hours spent together. We want to honor that journey, so we’re taking the time we need to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision, one that we hope will be remembered and treasured for years to come.

Naturally, this change brings up questions about our upcoming release calendar. Season of the Wish begins tomorrow and will extend until the launch of The Final Shape in June. While the majority of content and narrative for Season of the Wish will run from late November to February as originally planned, the team is adding new content available for all players to jump into until the launch of The Final Shape.

In February, this will include new weekly progression-based quests called Wishes, and the launch of Moments of Triumph with unique rewards. Next, we’re moving Guardian Games up to March with a refreshed focus on class vs. class competition. Then, beginning in April, we’re delivering a two-month content update available to everyone called Destiny 2: Into the Light, which will prepare players for their Guardian’s journey into the Traveler. All of this is in addition to the ongoing efforts from our PvP Strike Team, including three new PvP maps dropping in May.

We know you’re eager to get your hands on The Final Shape. In that sense, delays aren’t fun. For our part, we are excited to have the extra time needed to bring our vision for The Final Shape to life for all of you. We’re looking forward to sharing much more in April, including all-new gameplay, to showcase the significant content additions currently in development.

Thanks for reading and for being on this journey with us.

Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter Coming December 6th

Ahoy! Iron Wolf Studio and Daedalic Entertainment announce that the thrilling Naval-Warfare Sim Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter will launch into battle on December 6th! This captivating and unique WWII game invites seafarer greenhorns as well as hard-boiled captains to take the helm and protect supply convoys from Nazi Germany’s treacherous submarine assaults. Rooted in real history, the developers took the utmost care in presenting these conflicts as accurately as possible.

Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter is a historically accurate anti-submarine warfare simulation set in the Atlantic during WWII. The game depicts the United States and Royal Canadian Navys’ fight against German U-boats while escorting convoys during the siege of the United Kingdom. The player takes control of a realistically recreated Fletcher-Class Destroyer and uses its authentic instruments to detect and sink the feared U-boat wolfpacks.

HISTORICAL ACCURACY

The developers at Iron Wolf Studio literally went the extra mile to make sure that every instrument is depicted accurately and every bolt sits at the right spot. They traveled to the US not only to photograph and study an original Fletcher-class Destroyer but also to interview veterans who worked on similar vessels. Back in their headquarters in Katowice, Poland, they recreated all game assets from the photos and descriptions they gathered.

Game Director & Producer Bartosz Pluta during a research trip in the USA

CAREER MODE

On top of a battle mode, the game offers a career mode where you take the role of an aspiring young captain. This mode adds narrative depth to the naval-warfare simulation gameplay in the form of nine handcrafted missions, featuring authentic voice acting and motion capture cutscenes in between missions to further enhance the historical immersion.

GAME FEATURES

  • Procedural battle generation with randomized weather, time of day, and enemy attack patterns.
  • A detailed Fletcher-class destroyer model with 5 locations meticulously recreated in state-of-the-art 3D: the bridge, the combat information center, the sonar room, the gun director, and the lookouts’ station.
  • Over 300 voice reports were recorded by professional voice actors, navy school cadets, and US Navy experts for unparalleled immersion and situational awareness.
  • A dark, thematic soundtrack comprising 4 multi-layered pieces that dynamically adjust to the level of tension between you and the enemy.
  • Varied U-boat captain profiles: aggressive, sneaky, patient, or cold professional – each of them with an ace up their sleeve.

THE JOURNEY THROUGH THE EARLY ACCESS SEAS

Starting out as an Early Access game, Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter quickly grew an active community that helped improve the game based on player feedback. With the end of Early Access, the developers at Iron Wolf Studio have created a showcase that reflects on the games’ journey while introducing the core mechanics to new players.

World of Tanks Unveils Random Events

World of Tanks team is excited to introduce a new gameplay feature: Random Events, that marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the game’s battlefields. Random events are the series of dynamic activities that occur with its own specific probabilities in designated areas of four maps: Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Prokhorovka, and Safe Haven. Red smoke will mark the event zone, with a notification as players approach or cross its border. Tankers should exercise caution in the event zone, as their vehicles may be destroyed by large falling wrecks.

Each event will significantly alter the terrain of the respective maps and offer new tactical opportunities for the players. This transformation opens new paths for vehicles, creates fresh cover, and offers unique firing positions. As a result, players will not only get more action- packed and dynamic gameplay that will keep them on their toes, but it will also visually enhance the gaming experience, making it even more immersive.

The types of events will vary depending on the map:

– On Safe Haven map, the plane crashes onto the bunker’s roof, leading to the collapse of its structure and creating additional cover between the bunker and the port.
– On Himmelsdorf map, an air strike hits the locomotive as it’s leaving the train yard. Here, the scattered train cars will serve as good cover. Also, a falling zeppelin changes the landscape on the central square and “tank alley”, creating a descent from the hill to the heavy tank positions.
– On Prokhorovka map, planes crash into the alley, scorching part of the bushes and creating new cover.
– Ruinberg map is attacked from the air. As a result, an additional pass through the central blocks appears in the town, forming a new direction of attack.

Random Events will be launched in the upcoming 1.23 update. To learn more about the new feature, please visit: https://worldoftanks.eu/

World of Tanks Franchise Unveils Holiday Ops 2023

The World of Tanks franchise (World of Tanks, World of Tanks Blitz and World of Tanks Modern Armor) continues its annual tradition of celebrating winter holidays with its community by inviting a special celebrity ambassador. This year, the renowned British footballer and movie star Vinnie Jones is ready to lend his charismatic tough-guy persona to the World of Tanks Franchise Holiday Ops 2024 event.

Vinnie Jones has been working covertly as Santa’s enforcer, dealing with those who found themselves on the “naughty list”. However, this year Vinnie isn’t here to give the gift of punishment but to submit his resignation letter to Santa. He is leaving his post to seek a new opportunity: becoming a commander in World of Tanks…. but not before he and his crew knock out one last “naughty list”.

“You heard that correct, I’m hanging up my candy canes for good to join the awesome World of Tanks players for Holiday Ops 2024,” said Vinnie Jones, holiday enforcer turned World of Tanks Holiday Ambassador. “My days of ‘correcting’ people on the naughty list are over. I am a World of Tanks commander now, and it is going to be ‘Jingle-Bells’ all the way!”

Team up with Vinnie Jones in the tanker garage, where he will be assigning challenges and quests to the most focused and festive of tankers. Successfully completing these missions will reward players with themed customization items such as celebrity-inspired tank skins, emblems, inscriptions, decals, medals, unique decorations, avatars, and more. Players of World of Tanks and World of Tanks Modern Armor can also recruit Vinnie into their tank crews, with his gruff iconic voice supporting tankers in battles.

Holiday Ops 2024 is set to kick off on December 1st , and World of Tanks players across all platforms can join Vinnie for this holiday adventure. For more information about the event, please visit: https://holidayops.wargaming.net/
