Independent developer Cygnus Cross is thrilled to announce that Emberville’s first public demo is available now, as part of Steam Next Fest! Players can experience the fun of Emberville’s prologue from now until October 26th, and any progress made in the demo will carry over to the Early Access launch on October 27th, 2026.

The demo kicks off with your player awakening in the mysterious Vitromotus, with no memory of how you arrived or what you were doing before. After surviving your first journey through the darkness, you reach what remains of the town known as Emberville, and that’s where your journey really begins. It’s up to you to fix the broken town and bring back its people who are scattered across the Vitromotus, all the while fighting against the mysterious evil forces that lurk ever closer.

Looking ahead to Early Access, Emberville has fully voiced characters and storylines, fast-paced combat, dynamic world exploration, gathering, crafting, farming, character progression, town restoration, and your own personal estate to build up and make your own. The people you rescue aren’t just there to advance the story, either — bringing them back to Emberville can unlock new systems, abilities, and ways to play.
Emberville combines action RPG combat with meaningful long-term progression. Every expedition into the Vitromotus contributes toward rebuilding the town above, unlocking new NPCs, crafting opportunities, classes, and storylines. Whether mastering weapon skills, gathering rare materials, decorating your personal estate, or challenging powerful bosses, every activity contributes toward restoring life to a world left in ruins.

Emberville also features an all-star voice cast that includes Doug Cockle, Amelia Tyler, Alex Jordan, Abubakar Salim, Matthew Mercer, Jennifer English, Ben Starr, Nick Apostolides, Jane Perry, Elias Toufexis, Anjali Bhimani, LilyPichu, Briana White, Dillon Francis, and more! The good news is that you don’t have to wait long to play the Early Access version, as Emberville launches via Steam and GOG on October 27, 2026.
