While the gaming world turned its attention to gamescom last week, the developers at Tarsier Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed co-op horror game REANIMAL, were attending a completely different event. On 27 August, REANIMAL was awarded the Utmärkt Svensk Form award, presented by His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden.
The award jury shared their reasons for choosing REANIMAL:
“Through a consistent and deeply accomplished approach to environmental storytelling, atmosphere and interactive design, the project expands the unique possibilities of video games as an artistic medium. With exceptional precision, players are invited to explore, interpret and construct meaning. REANIMAL receives the Excellent Swedish Design Award 2026 for its innovative work in visual expression, storytelling and interactive design.”
The studio was humbled to receive such a prestigious award:
