Bloober Team, the global leader in immersive psychological horror video game experiences, today released a new video celebrating Rutger Hauer’s final role as lead character Daniel Lazarski in Observer: System Redux. Marking seven years since his passing in 2019 and nearly nine years since the game was first released in 2017, the game’s lead designer, Wojciech Piejko, shared new behind the scenes details of Bloober Team’s collaboration with Hauer to create a unique cyberpunk experience that delivered a full-circle moment in his legendary career.

“We showed him the game, and for him it was a…bit of an emotional moment. We were so inspired by Blade Runner and his work…he said it was like a circle, like ‘I inspired you with this movie and now I can go back to this cyberpunk universe’.” – Wojciech Piejko, lead game designer at Bloober Team

Available on all major platforms and most recently launching on Nintendo Switch 2 last month, Observer System Redux has stood the test of time as an enduring and immersive Cyberpunk experience thanks to Hauer’s performance as elite investigator Daniel Lazarski. As Lazarski, players will find themselves in the year 2084 where war is endless, corrupt corporations possess unthinkable power and a mysterious cyber-plague has decimated the population. In pursuit of his missing son, Lazarski must utilize a device known as the Dream Eater to hack into the minds of the dead and dying and risk his own sanity to uncover the terrible truth.

The newly released Nintendo Switch 2 version of Observer: System Redux gives players unprecedented freedom in experiencing the harsh and unrelenting cyberpunk world of 2084. Players will be able to enjoy the game anywhere at any time when playing in handheld mode, or play docked to experience the game in its highest visual fidelity. This new version of the game also supports the mouse feature of the Joy-Con 2 controllers, as well as optional motion controls for even deeper immersion.

Observer: System Redux is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 and all other major platforms.
