505 Games and Supernova Games Studios, in technical partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni, are pleased to announce the availabiity of 0.4 update in the Assetto Corsa Rally Early Access program – marking another important step in the evolution of the rally experience.

Two New Nineties legends added to the Garage

This update introduces two legendary rally cars from the 1990s, each representing a completely different technical philosophy:

  • The Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car, featured in its iconic IKE Racing livery, rose to fame with drivers such as François Delecour. With front‑wheel drive and a high‑revving naturally aspirated engine, the 306 Maxi is a pure tarmac specialist, renowned for its agility, precision, and asphalt‑focused performance.
  • The Subaru Impreza S3 Group A, driven in 1993 by Colin McRae and marking the beginning of the Impreza’s legendary rally legacy. Equipped with four‑wheel drive and a Boxer engine, the Impreza is built to dominate snow and gravel, embodying the all‑terrain resilience that would define Subaru’s success in the World Rally Championship.

Expanded Snow Conditions & Additional Events

Following the strong community response to snow driving, Update 0.4 expands the snowy weather technology to both the Alsace and Wales rallies. Drivers can now tackle these iconic stages in entirely new conditions, bringing fresh challenges and requiring new approaches to car control and stage strategy.

The update also introduces two new Event Groups dedicated to the newly added cars, for a total of 12 new events. In addition, a further event has been added for each of the three Traction Groups (FWD, RWD, and 4WD), featuring mixed weather conditions.

Official Collaboration with Jon Armstrong

We are extremely proud to announce that in March we began an official collaboration with Jon Armstrong, WRC rally driver for M-Sport. Bringing extensive experience across professional rallying, sim racing, and game development, Jon has played a key role in refining furtherly vehicle physics and handling.

Guided by his feedback and expertise, the Supernova team has focused particularly on improving tires, aerodynamics, and suspension, resulting in car behavior that is smoother, more predictable, and more communicative. These refinements make it more natural for players to manage critical driving dynamics such as wheel lock-up, loss of traction, and driving at the limit—phases that Jon himself identifies as essential for driving a rally car effectively and enjoyably.

Additional Improvements

Update 0.4 also includes a wide range of technical refinements, including:

  • Improved support for peripherals
  • Integration of Fanatec FullForce and Logitech TrueForce SDKs
  • Further overall stability and usability improvements

Full details of the update are available in the changelog.
