Interabang Entertainment, in collaboration with Atari, is stoked to announce that Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The arcade-style brawler features incredible hand-drawn animation, character progression, and enough … references (cough cough) to celebrate 4/20 in style.
Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is a colorful side-scrolling tag-team beat-em-up where players take on the roles of Kevin Smith’s titular heroes. Solo players can swap between Jay and Silent Bob on the fly or bring a co-op buddy along to dispense street justice in the View Askweniverse.
Jay and Silent Bob have had plenty of adventures over the years, but Chronic Blunt Punch takes the dope duo from the humble Quick Stop to the gates of h-e-double-roof-hockey-sticks itself. It’s a passion project that takes classic co-op beat ‘em ups and updates for contemporary players, with deep combat that rewards mastery. Button-mash at your peril!
“We’re all massive fans of his movies, and getting Kevin’s blessing to build a game within the View Askewniverse has been a creative highlight for our team,” says Interabang’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, Justin Woodward. “Kevin gave us complete access to his iconic characters and memorable locations, and we’re proud of what we’ve done within his whacked-out world!”
“I’ve always wanted to see a Jay and Silent Bob video game, and Interabang’s passion and excitement made this collaboration a no-brainer,” says Kevin Smith. “These guys know games, and they’ve come up with some mind-blowing ideas that I would never be able to explore on film.”
Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is now digitally available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch as a $19.99 download. Pre-orders for a physical edition are expected to open later this year. For more information, visit chronicbluntpunch.com/.
