Raccoon Logic, the independent studio behind the Savage Planet franchise, has today revealed Breakaway Hockey League, a fast-paced, competitive 4v4 hockey game in development for PC during Future Game Show at Gamescom 2026.
Combining the skill and teamwork of modern multiplayer games with the intensity of hockey and the larger-than-life spectacle. Breakaway Hockey League is designed from the ground up as a competitive team-based experience for PC gamers, with players taking direct control of a single skater throughout five-minute, high-intensity matches built around teamwork, mechanical skill and hockey IQ. Every stride, deke, hit, pass and shot is driven by player input, while dynamic skating, precision shooting, purposeful passing, physical checking and realistic puck physics give players the tools to develop their own style of play.
Every Breakaway Hockey League match is built to produce highlight-reel moments worth sharing; dramatic breakaways, clutch saves, bone-rattling hits, last-second winners, and moments players can’t wait to clip and share. The result is a competitive hockey experience designed to generate dramatic breakaways, clutch saves, massive hits, game-winning goals and plenty of opportunities to chirp the opposition.

Breakaway Hockey League will be developed openly alongside its community, beginning with frequent Alpha and Beta playtests shaped by direct player feedback and rapid iteration. These pre-release tests will lead towards an eventual Early Access launch, when the wider community will be invited to help shape the game’s continued development, features and future.
