The award-winning System Shock remake, based on the iconic 1994 sci-fi action game, has received its highly anticipated version 1.2 PC content update — adding an expanded ending, a new female hacker protagonist, and dozens of gameplay enhancements.

Nightdive Studios’ stunningly faithful recreation of the classic shooter/immersive sim was released to critical acclaim in 2023 for PC.

System Shock’s patch v1.2 features the addition of a revised ending and optional female hacker protagonist, as well as numerous improvements, game optimizations, and fixes.

Players who return to Citadel station to face SHODAN — the original rogue AI with evil intent — will be treated to enhanced enemy encounters (including new attacks and behaviors) and updated game balancing.

The patch also introduces a new waypoint system for System Shock’s easy mission difficulty mode.

The upcoming console versions of System Shock — releasing on 21 May, in both physical and digital formats — includes content and improvements found in the PC patch v1.2.
