STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – July 2, 2018 – PlayStation®VR players will travel to a dystopian future and battle merciless machines in the North American retail release of Apex Construct, available July 31, 2018. Built from the ground up exclusively for virtual reality, this first-person action-adventure game boasts a creative blend of precision-based combat and puzzle-solving exploration, all wrapped in a colorful, yet bleak future overrun by hostile synthetic creatures.
Developed by Fast Travel Games and published by Perp Games, Apex Construct tells the story of two conflicting artificial intelligent beings locked in a drawn-out conflict. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is all but lost, players take control of the last living human and are tasked with uncovering the mystery behind the extinction of all organic life.
Apex Construct features:
- A Flexible Combat System – With fluid use of a bow and shield, players take aim at enemies with an unparalleled precision. Players have the option to choose between seamless teleportation or direct movement;
- Deep Customization and Updates – Players can spend acquired resources to upgrade weapons and equipment while customizing their home base and displaying hard-earned achievements;
- Replayable Missions – From their personalized home base, players can select and replay any mission to uncover secret locations and mysteries contained within each area.
“Questioning the potentially dangerous impact of sentient technology is a topic that we can address in our media in a lot of interesting ways. Apex Construct takes a unique approach,” says Mickey Torode, director of publishing at Perp Games. “The bow and arrow combat really enhance the feeling of a return to the rudimentary human existence, echoing back to early hunting techniques that adds a rawness and urgency to the fights.”
Apex Construct is available for PlayStation VR (PlayStation®Camera required) for $29.99 at North American retailers. The game is rated E10+ by the ESRB.
