October 30th, 2015 – Wroclaw, Poland – As the season for frights and scares approaches, Techland has prepared a special video message for all zombie and horror fans out there.

As can be expected on Halloween, something horrible is going bump in the night. But in the zombie-infested countryside of Dying Light: The Following, those noises turn out to be something rather different. A little more treat than trick this time around.

Watch the video on YouTube:

“If once you’re done partying you still feel like having a bit of a fright this Halloween season, we’ve got the perfect challenge for you” – teases community manager Michał Napora. “In the evening, fire up the game on Hard Mode, turn off all the lights in your room, put on some headphones and see how long you can survive at night without entering the safe zones. Then share your stories on our official social media channels with #GoodNightGoodFright. We’ll give away some cool digital goodies to the best entries next week.”

During the week of Halloween, Dying Light will be 50% off on Steam across the globe.

October 29, 2015 – The fourth – and penultimate – entry in the JUST CAUSE 3 Dev Diary series takes a look at the story and missions driving JUST CAUSE 3’ s explosive action.

In JUST CAUSE 3, Rico Rodriguez returns to his homeland – the Mediterranean island of Medici. Far from the paradise it might appear on the surface, Medici is ruled by the dictator General Di Ravello, who uses the island’s resources to further his plans of world domination. Thankfully, Rico is no stranger to removing tyrannous dictators from power, and takes charge of the rebellion.

“Our missions are an excuse for you to try cool things,” explains Francesco Antolini, Principal Designer at Avalanche Studios. “…we’ve kept the same philosophy from the rest of the game which leaves the player free to experiment and reach their goals however they prefer.”

As well as highlighting the story and events leading up to the start of the game, the video takes a look at characters and the technologies behind them. In the video, there’s a fantastic insight into performance capture and the camera tech Avalanche Studios has used in bringing JUST CAUSE 3’s cast to life.

Crytek Releases New Cyber Horde Mode for Warface

Warface_ Cyber Horde_Screenshot_04

FRANKFURT, Germany – Oct. 29, 2015 – If you go down to the woods in Warface this Halloween, get ready for a spine-chilling surprise! Today sees the brand-new “Cyber Horde” Co-op mode coming to Crytek’s free online shooter—challenging players to band together and survive an onslaught of terrifying enemies.

Set in the dead of night, Cyber Horde confronts Warface players with their scariest mission yet. As teams brave bleak woodland and deserted military facilities, they will encounter waves of enemies spilling out from a mysterious laboratory. And with nowhere to run, players will soon discover that Blackwood’s newest recruits are far from human!

To make it out alive, players must escort a heavily armored vehicle through the woods and a confined road tunnel before detonating explosives in the heart of Blackwood’s lab. Only once the objective is complete will enemy reinforcements be cut off at the source. Along the way, the vehicle will stop at multiple clearings, leaving players exposed to attacks from their freakish foes. If they can survive each assault for long enough, an energy blast from the trusty Warface truck will clear the area and free them up to move on to the next checkpoint.

But it’s not just Blackwood’s horde that will be raising the fear factor this Halloween. In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, players can also get kitted out in style thanks to a set of ghoulish skins, weapons and items that are now available for a limited time.

Today’s Warface update comes hot on the heels of the game’s two-year anniversary. Since going live in October 2013, Crytek’s free-to-play FPS has seen the addition of 30 new PVP maps, expansive Co-op missions and much, much more.

Now players can experience the latest content to hit as they uncover Blackwood’s darkest secret and face their fears in Cyber Horde—an all-new Warface challenge that’s definitely not for the faint-hearted!

the-world-of-darkness-logo

STOCKHOLM – Oct. 29, 2015Paradox Interactive, a global games developer and publisher, today announced the acquisition of White Wolf Publishing from CCP Games in an all-cash deal. Now a subsidiary of Paradox Interactive, White Wolf Publishing is a licensing business that owns and manages intellectual properties including World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Led by CEO Tobias Sjögren, former EVP of Business Development at Paradox, White Wolf Publishing will operate as an independent entity with a dedicated team.

White Wolf Publishing has a long history of producing gaming universes that span mediums, including tabletop and collectible card games, PC games and books. Paradox Interactive acquired all of White Wolf’s brands, and its new subsidiary will pursue development opportunities across relevant categories of games under the White Wolf Publishing name.

“Like Paradox’s games, White Wolf’s properties have dedicated, passionate communities. While there are similarities in spirit, White Wolf’s IPs have very different themes than Paradox’s titles, and deserve their own brand and team,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO and President of Paradox Interactive. “We have great respect for White Wolf’s gaming worlds and see big opportunities for their expansion in the future under our new subsidiary.”

“Over the last 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with beloved studios like DICE and Paradox on the business management side of games, and as a developer earlier in my career. I look forward to bringing my experience to bear as we pursue new ways to interact with White Wolf’s universes,” said Tobias Sjögren, CEO of White Wolf Publishing. “The White Wolf IPs are well suited for all kinds of media and we see great potential to expand them in the future.”

“At CCP, we have great admiration for the White Wolf brands and communities, and it was extremely important to us that the acquiring company share the same respect and understanding,” said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games. “With Paradox, we know we are leaving the brands in good hands.”

Strong fan, affiliate and distributor demand for the highly-anticipated premiere of “Ash vs Evil Dead” has generated the early pickup of the series which is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film The Evil Dead.

Executive producers and The Evil Dead original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell will return for the second season with executive producer and showrunner Craig DiGregorio. Campbell will continue in his role as Ash Williams, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter. New Battlefleet Gothic: Armada Screenshots Released

battlefleet_gothic_armada-08

October 28, 2015 – Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, the RTS videogame adaptation by Tindalos Interactive of Games Workshop’s classic tabletop game, today reveals the Ork fleet for the first time! First hinted at in the Gameplay Trailer last month, in a post-credits sequence, the Ork ships are presented today in all their badass glory in new screenshots.

Orks are not your typical space-faring species. Their ships are usually built from scrap, hulks of other ships, and in some rare cases even from asteroids. But what their ships lack in reliability is made up for with sheer firepower and particularly strong prow armor. “More Dakka” would be their motto, and charging forward, all cannons blazing and ramming the enemy ships is a totally valid “tactic” in the mind of any Ork captain.

Developed on Unreal Engine 4, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is an RTS in which the player takes command of one of these battlefleets composed of the most powerful spaceships from the Imperial, Chaos, Eldar and Ork forces, in a no-quarter given struggle for the control of the Gothic sector of space. Players will be at the center of every fight, commanding fleets of gigantic ships as the Chaos unleash a sequential chain of surprise attacks on Imperium naval bases – the start of 20 years of warring in the sector.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada offers deep management of every ship composing the player’s fleet, both during and between battles. From the fastest frigates to the gigantic, miles-long battleships, the player will customize all aspects of his ships: weaponry, defense and support sub-systems, etc… each customization affecting the very performances of the ship and the special abilities available during battle. From battle to battle, the admirals and crew of surviving ships will gain experience and promotions, improving the battle-readiness of the ships for future, bigger and more dangerous battles.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada will release on PC in 2016
