According to a leak last year, and more recent rumors, it looks as though Microsoft’s next Xbox console will be titled the “Xbox Infinity” – with an infinity symbol resembling a Windows 8 “8” turned on its side. These rumors were further reinforced today by the good people at The International Business Times, the console will indeed be called the Xbox Infinity.
Once again, this has been a long-reported rumor which may or may not be true. So, stick around as May 21st and the big reveal is right around the corner!

Microsoft has sent out invitations to their E3 2013 press event, which will take place at the Galen Center on Monday, June 10, 2013. We are anticipating that the event will begin at 9am or 10am, given that the Electronic Arts briefing begins at 1pm. They will send out additional information, including start times, in a separate email which should arrive to us shortly. Stay-tuned!
Looks like Microsoft is all locked and loaded to show off their next Xbox game console on May 21st, 2013. That’s only 19 days prior to the start of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Should be a great show and it will be very interesting to see how all the rumors of used game prohibitions, 24/7 connections, and everything else play out in reality.
The event will take place at 10AM Pacific time and will be streamed online, Xbox LIVE, and on Spike TV. Stay tuned!
Looks like Electronic Arts and DICE will be unveiling their hotly-anticipated Battlefield 4 at this year’s GDC in San Francisco at 7pm on March 26th, 2013. The invite reads “Please join us to celebrate a brand-new era of Battlefield”. This could allude to the game being on next-gen systems (which would be expected), or, perhaps it alludes to the game being set in the near-future? They tried this before with mixed results in Battlefield 2142, but it would be interesting to see what they could do a second time around.
UPDATE: Looks like being set in the future is a no-go. AllGamesBeta has found the promo image this invite image is based on below:
Looks like Game Informer magazine may have some info about the revelations of the forthcoming “next-gen” Microsoft and Sony video game consoles. In Game Informer’s February 2013 issue, the magazine claims that the companies are planning “Apple-syle press conferences” near the time of the Game Developers Conference in the last part of March, 2013. This would put the game console announcements a month and change ahead of the venerable Electronic Entertainment Expo in June – leaving E3 to be more about the game announcements rather than the hardware.
The full quote from the magazine report reads, “We hear that both Sony and Microsoft are targeting special Apple-style press conferences to unveil their platforms near the Game Developers Conference in late March…”
Only time will tell, but we will keep you in the loop as soon as we hear more.
