Battlefield 4 Invite Reveals GDC Press Event
Looks like Electronic Arts and DICE will be unveiling their hotly-anticipated Battlefield 4 at this year’s GDC in San Francisco at 7pm on March 26th, 2013. The invite reads “Please join us to celebrate a brand-new era of Battlefield”. This could allude to the game being on next-gen systems (which would be expected), or, perhaps it alludes to the game being set in the near-future? They tried this before with mixed results in Battlefield 2142, but it would be interesting to see what they could do a second time around. UPDATE: Looks like being set in the future is a…
Could the Xbox 720 and PS4 Be Announced Before E3? [Rumor]
Looks like Game Informer magazine may have some info about the revelations of the forthcoming “next-gen” Microsoft and Sony video game consoles. This would put the game console announcements a month and change ahead of the venerable Electronic Entertainment Expo in June – leaving E3 to be more about the game announcements rather than the hardware. The full quote from the magazine report reads, “We hear that both Sony and…

Xbox 720 Due in 2012 with Announcement in January (RUMOR)
File this under rumor for now, but EDGE is reporting that Ubisoft Montreal developers are currently working on build computers tricked out to match the specs of the next-gen gaming console from Microsoft. According to EDGE’s unnamed source, more of these build computers should be reaching other developers prior to Christmas of this year, pointing to an Xbox 720 (or whatever it will be called) launch later in 2012. With CES coming up in early January, it is not too hard to speculate that, if another rumor is correct, we will see some sort of announcement during the Microsoft keynote….
