Anno 117: Pax Romana – Gameplay Showcase Trailer

Today, Ubisoft revealed Anno 117: Pax Romana’s first gameplay details as the genre-defining builder franchise returns with its most ambitious installment yet and one of the biggest games ever made about the Roman Empire.

Players will embark in journey as a freshly appointed governor, sent by the Emperor to build and lead several provinces across the Empire, from the beautiful heartlands of Latium to the mysterious Celtic wetlands of Albion, where no civilized Roman wants to be. Anno 117: Pax Romana will launch in Winter of 2025 simultaneously on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X | S, Amazon Luna, as well as Windows PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect.

BECOME A LEGENDARY ROMAN GOVERNOR

Players will be able to build the cities of their dreams during the height of the Roman Empire. From where to place their starting villa to how diligently they send taxes back to Rome, players must balance their people’s needs with their emperor’s demands. Cooperate with other governors through trade and diplomacy or—if they prefer—prove their military prowess by challenging rivals with strategic land battles and modular naval combat. They may even defy the Emperor himself—but not without consequences.

CHOOSE THE FATE OF YOUR PROVINCES

Every choice players make as governor matters. Will players embrace local Celtic culture or impose Roman traditions? From architectural styles to which gods to worship, the degree to which players Romanize their provinces is up to them. Will they foster growth through diplomacy and deep economic ties or expand their territory through military might? And will they loyally serve the Emperor or foment rebellion? Their decisions will shape not only the future of their citizens and their provinces, but their own story as well.

EXPERIENCE THE PREMIER BUILDER GAME

Players build their provinces with unprecedented scale, detail, and flexibility. From kids chasing dogs through the streets to thousands cheering on the spectacles of the colosseum, players will take their provinces from a single settlement to multiple eternal cities across several provinces. From islands on the horizon to distant mountains, players can build upon almost any terrain they see— all with a graphical quality that is the benchmark for the genre.

Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, Anno 117: Pax Romana is a premiere builder game in which every facet of your city can be controlled; and how players will choose to build and  govern will shape their story, their citizens’ destiny, and their  provinces’ future. In this immersive and authentic world, where the cost of peace is for players to decide.

Anno 117: Pax Romana will be released in winter of 2025 with cross-play and cross-progression on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X | S, Amazon Luna as well as Windows PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect.

Albion Online’s “Abyssal Depths” Update Launches June 30

Albion Online, the fantasy sandbox MMORPG from Sandbox Interactive, will release the new Abyssal Depths update on June 30, 2025. This update contains a major overhaul of the new player experience, making the game more accessible than ever, and introduces an entirely new PvP feature in the form of a brand-new type of dungeon. Albion Online also has a new Dev Talk video out today featuring an overview of the Abyssal Depths update with Game Director Moritz Bokelmann.

This new kind of PvP-focused dungeon is a fast-paced, high-stakes battleground pitting groups of two or three players against monsters and other player characters in a collapsing environment filled with tactical objectives, all to earn new and unique rewards.

The other main focus of the update lies in how Albion Online introduces itself to new players. Additionally, Abyssal Depths will bring UI improvements like a streamlined HUD Tracker, with additional interactive tutorial features alongside a number of quality-of-life changes to the early game flow to better reflect the Albion Online experience, especially around crafting, the Destiny Board, and the use of buildings.

MAVRIX: by Matt Jones Official Trailer

MAVRIX, the high-adrenaline open world mountain biking game, has just dropped its first official trailer, giving fans an exciting first look at the most authentic mountain biking game yet. Designed by Red Bull athlete Matt Jones and developed by Third Kind Games, MAVRIX is the first mountain biking game created by a MTB pro rider, featuring realistic bike physics, dual-stick controls, and a massive handcrafted open world that delivers a creative, technical, fully sendable ride that feels true to the sport.

MAVRIX delivers an authentic and extreme digital mountain biking experience set in a vast open world inspired by the Welsh mountains, where players launch off cliffs, rip through forest trails, and compete in thrilling 50-player mass start races. Combining realistic handling and precise controls with creative freedom, it lets players style tricks, chase clean landings, or simply send it.

Matt Jones’ real-world riding expertise shapes the physics and control system to authentically mirror true mountain biking. Dual-stick controls and independent braking give players complete freedom to express their style while meeting the sport’s technical demands. The game also features live Red Bull event integration, bringing real-world competitions directly into the gameplay, allowing the community to ride alongside the action as it unfolds.

Even before launch, MAVRIX has built a passionate community of over 60,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Discord, drawn by its pro athlete-backed promise of high-adrenaline multiplayer action and authentic riding. Featuring 100 square kilometers of varied terrain with online races, time trials, and technical challenges, MAVRIX offers an exciting playground that blends technical skill with pure fun for adventure sports fans.

When players join MAVRIX, they’re guided through an engaging first-time experience that introduces core controls, gameplay, and trail discovery. The core loop encourages players to find trails and challenges, complete them, earn Moolah, and unlock custom gear. Each trail has its own global leaderboard, with race commentary from Red Bull legend and ex-World Cup winner Rob Warner, the voice featured in the trailer. Completing challenges builds reputation and earns Moolah, the in-game currency used to customise bikes, components, and clothing.

To further the gameplay experience, MAVRIX features a sponsorship system that mirrors a real MTB career. As players complete challenges and grow their reputation, new contracts become available, offering better deals and exclusive items. Public reputation levels also add another social and competitive element to the game. A POV camera mode, toggled with a single button, provides a heightened sense of speed and control, along with multiplayer join codes that let friends ride together on the same server.

“I’m stoked to finally give fans a glimpse of MAVRIX, a game that truly captures the heart and soul of mountain biking,” says Matt Jones, MAVRIX creator and professional mountain biker. “It’s been a lot of hard work to build a game that truly reflects the spirit of mountain biking, and seeing it come to life is incredibly rewarding. I’m really looking forward to players diving in, mastering the controls, and pushing their limits. And this is just the beginning.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 10th Anniversary Celebrations Begin

CD PROJEKT RED is proudly marking a significant milestone: ten years of monster-slaying adventures with the iconic “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” The esteemed game developer has kicked off the commemorations with a special anniversary trailer and a live stream, heralding a period of celebration that will include exciting partnerships, events, and more surprises for the game’s dedicated community.

A cornerstone of the celebration is a newly released anniversary trailer for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” This trailer offers fans a nostalgic journey, revisiting memorable moments from the game’s rich story and expressing gratitude to the community for their integral role in this remarkable ten-year voyage.

Adding to the festivities, Geralt’s renowned voice actor, Doug Cockle, joined a special anniversary episode of REDstreams. During the stream, Cockle reminisced about his experience portraying the White Wolf, sharing insights and memories from his time working on the game.

The celebration extends into the realm of live music with “The Witcher in Concert.” Special anniversary performances are scheduled in Boston on May 31st and Poznań on June 15th. These events will serve as a prelude to the official tour kickoff at gamescom in August, promising attendees a unique orchestral experience blended with cutting-edge visuals and gameplay footage.

Further enriching the anniversary, a series of ten unique artworks is being commissioned from artists who have contributed to The Witcher series over the years. These pieces will offer diverse artistic interpretations of the beloved universe. Fans can also look forward to the release of “The Little Witcher,” a collection of comics offering a charming perspective on Geralt and Ciri. Additionally, a collaboration with Embody will bring the Immerse Gamepack to players, enhancing the auditory experience of the game.

Originally launched a decade ago on May 19, 2015, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is a critically acclaimed open-world role-playing game. Players step into the boots of Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire, as he navigates the war-torn Northern Kingdoms in a desperate search for his adopted daughter, Ciri. The game has achieved monumental success, selling over 50 million copies worldwide, with the entire Witcher series of games surpassing 75 million copies sold. This success has solidified its place as a timeless dark fantasy epic. The vibrant community that has blossomed around the game since its launch continues to thrive, and these ongoing celebrations are a testament to both the enduring legacy of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” and its passionate fanbase.

The anniversary edition of REDstreams, which featured Doug Cockle alongside English Adaptation Director Borys Pugacz-Muraszkiewicz, provided a platform for the voice actor to reflect on his journey with Geralt, his experiences with “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” and the profound impact the role has had on him over the past decade.

“The Witcher in Concert” is poised to deliver an unforgettable live event. The ensemble orchestra, combined with stunning visuals and gameplay elements, will bring the world of The Witcher to life in a new way. Following the initial anniversary shows in Boston and Poznań, the official tour will commence at gamescom in Cologne on August 20th. Tickets for the European leg of the tour are currently available for purchase via the official Witcher in Concert website, with announcements for new dates and locations expected in the future. Subscribers to the newsletter will receive exclusive access to all official pre-sales.

The celebratory surprises continue with the specially commissioned artworks from ten distinct artists who have each left their mark on The Witcher series. Esteemed artists such as Przemysław “TRUST” Trusciński, the visionary behind Geralt’s original appearance in the first game, and Grzegorz Przybyś, who crafted artwork for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s” iconic opening scenes, are among those contributing. These artworks will be printed on Displate’s signature metal canvases and will also be available on a variety of merchandise, including T-shirts and mugs.

For players seeking an enhanced audio experience, the recently released Immerse Gamepack from Embody offers personalized spatial audio for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” Notably, those who already own the Cyberpunk 2077 Gamepack from Embody will receive a free unlock of this new product.

The world of The Witcher also expands further with the publication of “The Little Witcher.” This delightful collection of comics, penned by the creative minds behind the best-selling video game series, follows Geralt of Rivia as he raises a young Ciri in Kaer Morhen, presenting a lighthearted and charming take on the beloved characters and their world. Published by Random House Worlds, “The Little Witcher” is available for purchase in both hardcover and ebook formats.

CD PROJEKT RED emphasizes that these announcements are merely the beginning of the anniversary festivities, with more surprises in store for the community as the celebration of a decade of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” continues.

The Longest Night of Museums Returns For Its 5th Anniversary
