Publisher Owlcat Games — creators of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader — together with Alcon Interactive Group revealed a selection of new environments set to appear in the upcoming narrative-driven sci-fi action RPG The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. This title is set in the universe of the acclaimed TV series The Expanse, available on Blu-ray and streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The video highlights a handful of key locations players will explore, from the industrial might of Pinkwater to the fragile ecosystems of Ganymede and the bustling corridors of Ceres Station.

“Every place in The Expanse tells a story,” says Alexander Mishulin, Creative Director at Owlcat Games. “When we recreate locations like Ganymede or Ceres, it’s not just about making them look authentic — it’s about capturing the struggles and hopes of the people who live there. That sense of survival and consequence is what we want players to feel as they move through the game.”

The Expanse is set in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt have long been in opposition with one another. When the crew of the Rocinante uncovers an ancient alien technology, a vast conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will bring the solar system to the brink of war. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn expands the universe of the TV series and novels, putting players in the boots of a Pinkwater Security mercenary caught in the chaos of Eros Station’s deadly lockdown. From there, they’ll need to gather a crew, command a powerful ship, and carve their own path across a fractured solar system.

  • Create Your Own Captain: Play as an Earther, Martian, or Belter and take command of the system’s most advanced ship. Shape your journey through identity, leadership, and the pressure of survival.
  • Lead a Crew: Your companions are more than squadmates — they have pasts, motives, and a voice in your story. Your leadership decisions will determine how squadmate loyalty shifts under pressure.
  • Tactical Third-Person Combat: Implement real-time strategic cover mechanics using various abilities and squad coordination. Bring two companions into combat while others support from behind the scenes.
  • Explore a Divided Solar System: Travel across iconic locations from the TV show and books, like Ganymede, Ceres, Mars, and Luna. While traversing the various environments, players must uncover secrets and influence outcomes through their skills and decisions.
  • A Story-Driven RPG True to The ExpanseImmerse yourself in a narrative grounded in tension, consequence, and the complexity of humanity’s future among the stars.

Enshrouded Reveals Wake of the Water Update

Keen Games has revealed their seventh major content update for Enshrouded, titled Wake of the Water, as part of gamescom’s Opening Night Live. This next update brings the most fan-requested content element into the world of Enshrouded: water! Wake of the Water is anticipated to be released in October.

Watch the ONL Wake of the Water Teaser Here:

The addition of water quickly rose to the top of the Feature Upvote, the community request platform; however, implementing voxel-based water is incredibly challenging for the developers. More details on the upcoming Wake of the Water content update will be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the trailer confirms the following features:
  • New water biome with a cool, tropical vibe for relaxing or terraforming in beach-side
  • Lizard-like enemy faction, looking like they need sunscreen
  • Two-handed weapon that puts the “great” in Greatsword
  • Voxel-based water simulation that can be used in building, for swimming in, fishing, aqueducting, more — and it doesn’t appear at all cube-like!
Keep palm, and carry on.

Kick off everyone’s favorite holiday in style by blasting alien creeps to rescue your sister. Romantic … ? Anyway, High On Life 2 has a little something for everyone! Snuggle up with your sweetie in your matching gaming chairs, smooching and killing aliens while laughing your asses off! High On Life 2 is set five years after the first game, where you’re reaping the rewards of being the most well-known bounty hunter in the universe after successfully saving humanity from being harvested as a smokable drug by a nefarious intergalactic cartel. You’re on your way to a celebrity-endorsement event when a new bounty alert pops up on the network – for your sister, Lizzie. She’s been busy, too, building up her reputation as a freedom fighter/terrorist, depending on your perspective. After some secret things happen, you’re now the bad guy. Fortunately, you’re armed with an arsenal of talking weapons, which are a mix of new and returning favorites including Knifey (Michael Cusack), Sweezy (Betsy Sodaro), Gus (JB Smoove), and, making his debut at gamescom, Sheath (Ralph Ineson).

This will make way more sense in mid-February, trust me!

Cronos: The New Dawn Gamescom Trailer

At Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, Bloober Team unveiled a chilling new cinematic trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, and it’s absolutely steeped in atmosphere. The trailer opens from a cat’s-eye view — an eerie, ground-level perspective that turns the familiar into something surreal. As if the trailer wasn’t enough, The Traveler made a dramatic appearance on stage in full cosplay — stepping out of the void and into the spotlight, blurring the line between the game and reality.

Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game developed by the renowned horror studio Bloober Team, best known for the critically acclaimed SILENT HILL 2 Remake.

The game is built around a powerful, original narrative that unfolds in New Dawn – an abstract reinterpretation of the real Nowa Huta district in Kraków, Poland. The story is told across two contrasting timelines: a post-apocalyptic future and the gritty industrial reality of the 1980s. This unique setting blends retro realism with dystopian sci-fi and a retro futuristic atmosphere, creating a deeply immersive world filled with tension, mystery, and psychological depth.

At this year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live, a stunning new cinematic trailer premiered on the main stage — featuring a surprise appearance by none other than The Traveler.
