Go Hands-On with Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond During Steam Next Fest

Paging all world leaders – the battle has extended to the stars! Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond, the latest instalment in Fulqrum Publishing and Jujubee’s grand strategy series, will be allowing players to expand their political legacy into the Galaxy. Of course, this means their warfare capacities have been expanded too, with Realpolitiks 3 allowing players to engage in land, air, orbital, and planetary warfare for the first time in franchise history.

Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond is set to release on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG soon – but would-be space rulers don’t need to wait much longer, as they’ll be able to get hands-on with the first playable demo during Steam Next Fest – taking place from October 14 – 21!

Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond places you at the helm of any modern state, where your decisions will shape the future of the world. And of course, with that power comes the growing might of your military. Players will be able to get hands-on with the game’s combat system during Steam Next Fest, so here’s just a quick look at the new battlefields offered in Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond – Orbital and Planetary Warfare.

Orbital Warfare: The Battle Beyond Earth

Orbital combat plays a pivotal role in the geopolitical landscape of Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond. For the first time in the series, players can engage in orbital warfare not only around Earth but also in the orbits of other celestial bodies, including the Moon, the Sun, and every planet in the Solar System. Each celestial body’s orbit has now become a potential battlefield for control over vital resources and strategic positions.

Players can now deploy satellites, space stations, and defence platforms around any of these planets and moons. Whether defending Earth from orbital threats or expanding players’ presence in space to other planets, orbital warfare will require careful planning and technological superiority. Satellites can be used for espionage, gathering crucial intelligence on enemy movements across the solar system, while orbital lasers and kinetic weapons offer powerful tools for devastating attacks from space. Defensive platforms allow players to guard against enemy strikes and secure their presence in orbit, preventing other nations from gaining a technological or military edge.

This new system emphasises that victory in space can cripple a nation’s infrastructure, cutting off communications or disabling satellites. But the stakes have risen even further: controlling the orbit of the Moon, Mars, or even the Sun provides significant geopolitical advantages, as nations with dominance in these orbits can strike across the entire solar system. Mastery of space warfare will not only protect players’ assets on Earth but also open new avenues for expansion and military supremacy across the stars.

Planetary Warfare: Expanding the Battlefield to the Solar System

Perhaps the most exciting addition is planetary warfare, where battles extend beyond Earth. In Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond, players can now engage in conflicts on other celestial bodies within our solar system, including Mars, the Moon, the Sun, and even the moons of other planets. Each of these environments presents its own challenges, with different resource availability, environmental hazards, and strategic considerations.

  • Lunar Battles: The Moon offers a closer-to-home battlefield, where nations can establish military bases or resource-extraction operations. Lunar combat is fast and brutal, requiring swift, decisive actions to control the satellite.

  • Martian Warfare: Mars, with its rich resources and strategic importance, will become a new hotspot for conflict. Deploy Martian colonies and military outposts to establish dominance over this red world.

  • Solar Conflicts: Yes, even the Sun is a battleground! In Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond, players can build solar power stations or scientific outposts near the Sun, which serve as crucial points for energy and technological research. But be wary — solar flares and extreme radiation can complicate players’ plans.

Control over other planets also directly influences players’ technological development, military power, and political leverage on Earth.

The addition of air, orbital, and planetary warfare introduces a new level of strategic complexity. These layers are interdependent; controlling the skies can enhance ground battles, while orbital dominance can provide crucial intelligence and satellite-based weapons that impact battles on Earth and beyond. The interconnected nature of these systems ensures that no single layer of combat exists in isolation — success in Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond means mastering them all.

These new layers of combat make Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond the most expansive and immersive entry in the series. As a player, you’ll have more freedom to devise complex strategies, whether through dominating the skies, controlling orbital space, or expanding humanity’s reach to other planets. The stakes have never been higher, and the variety of warfare allows for infinite strategic possibilities.

Get ready to lead your nation across land, sky, space, and beyond in the most ambitious Realpolitiks game yet – and try it out for yourself at Steam Next Fest, taking place from October 14 – 21!

“Haunted House FearFest is the fulfillment of my lifelong dream – to immerse audiences in the art of horror while transforming bold ideas into lasting legacies. It serves as a powerful platform for filmmakers and game developers from all backgrounds, with a special emphasis on elevating women creators. Here, their stories are not just shared; they are honored, amplifying voices that deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated in ways that transcend the screen.” said Renee Huff, Owner & Executive Director, HHFF.

EVE Online Revenant Expansion Teaser Trailer

Today, CCP Games revealed EVE Online: Revenant, the next expansion for the legendary spacefaring sci-fi MMO, EVE Online. As old threats reemerge, Revenant sees the ongoing Deathless Saga take an unexpected turn when it begins its launch on 12 November. The Drifters have laid siege to the Deathless in Zarzakh, targeting a shrouded and mysterious structure bearing the hallmarks of ancient technology. In the wake of battle and as the promise of its power grows, the Deathless has called upon the capsuleers of New Eden to help uncover its secrets and stand together in the face of rising chaos and conflict.

As the tides of war shift, EVE Online: Revenant adds new ways for you to build up your war arsenal in the fight against the Drifters. Aid the Deathless in unlocking the structure and secure ancient artifacts to be rewarded with formidable technology to turn the tide of battle in your favor. Construct mercenary dens within nullsec and strategically deploy them around skyhooks to generate encrypted infomorphs that can be exchanged with the Deathless for advanced new ships and cutting-edge weaponry. To boost the production of encrypted infomorphs, capsuleers can undertake Tactical Operations, as well as upgrade their mercenary dens.

Acquire unique Deathless ships – the Tholos (destroyer) and Cenotaph (battlecruiser) – that specialize in close-range brawls, giving newfound tactical utility across PvP and PvE combat with damage-over-time weaponry. Cloak to ambush unsuspecting enemies before unleashing their signature attack to lay waste from even beyond the grave.

“An ancient proverb says, ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ This is the theme for Revenant, which marks the continuation of an intense chapter in EVE’s history: the Deathless Saga,” said Bergur Finnbogason, Creative Director for EVE Online. “While the Deathless may have won the battle for Zarzakh, the Drifters remain an eminent threat, having emerged from the shadows once more. But with this victory the Deathless has managed to get his hands on something that was not meant for capsuleers. Will this newfound technology be suppressed, or will they harness its furious power?”

EVE Online: Revenant also adds new ways for players to unlock their collective and individual potential. Build stronger groups with enhanced Corporation Projects. Streamline your goals: merge diverse activities into one project through expanded parameters and tailor projects by setting deadlines and placing participation limits. Utilize the new ship insurance project type to empower your corporation in automating ship replacement.

With enhanced expression and customization for SKINR, capsuleers can elevate their creativity and take their creations to new heights. Experiment with new nanocoatings and patterns, blending them together to craft stunning SKINS. Design exclusive SKINS for your corporation or alliance, allowing you to showcase your colors in unison and strengthen your visual presence across New Eden. A new section in the Paragon Hub makes it easy to find SKINS tailored specifically for your group, enabling you to create a unique “uniform” and share it exclusively with fellow members.

“Strong organizations are the lifeblood of EVE Online. With Revenant, we’re giving players the tools to strengthen their corporations. Enhanced Corporation Projects will help streamline goals, while the new SKINR features allow for creative expression of your group’s identity. These updates will empower players and foster a sense of unity across New Eden,” said Snorri Árnason, Game Director for EVE Online.

As war flares in the skies above, EVE Vanguard will also take the conflict planet-side with a new public event running 28 November – 9 December. As the largest update yet for the in-development online sci-fi FPS, experience new content, features and a deepened vision for boots-on-the-ground combat within New Eden. More details will be announced soon: to stay connected, join the community on Discord and wishlist on Steam.

Remnant II Celebrates New DLC & Anniversary with New Song

Trivium vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy has written and recorded a brand-new song, “Spire of the Hellspawn”, in support of Gunfire Games and Arc Games’ best-selling survival shooter, REMNANT II. The song has been released in celebration of the game’s third and final DLC, The Dark Horizon, and recent one-year anniversary. This is the second song dropped by Heafy in support of REMNANT II, as he first released the song, “Wielders of the Plague”, to celebrate the game’s first DLC, The Awakened King.

Check out the new song “Spire of the Hellspawn” here:

“It was an honour and a privilege to have played a part in the release of REMNANT II last year,” said Matt Heafy, Trivium vocalist and guitarist. “To be invited back to do it again for the third and final piece of DLC is unreal. The world that the team at Gunfire Games have created is absolutely incredible, so the opportunity to create another piece of music inspired by their work was impossible for me to turn down. I can’t wait for you to hear what I’ve been working on.”

The release of “Spire of the Hellspawn” comes at a good time as Trivium gears up for a North America, UK and Europe tour starting in Early 2025. Check out tour dates to see if Trivium is playing in a city near you: https://www.trivium.org/tour.

Dreamhaven Studio Secret Door Reveals Sunderfolk

Dreamhaven development studio Secret Door today revealed Sunderfolk, a couch co-op tactical adventure set in a fantastical new world. Sunderfolk brings up to four players around an enchanting shared-screen experience that rewards thoughtful teamwork and, like the best tabletop games, inspires creativity and camaraderie. The game launches on Steam, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch™ in 2025. Future champions of the Sunderlands can wishlist now.

Sunderfolk features an unfolding narrative that takes the intrepid adventuring party on a quest through the Sunderlands—starting in Arden, their idyllic hometown village, which they’ve been enlisted to save. As they battle their way through the mines, wilderness, and labyrinths of the game’s vibrant world, players will encounter colorful characters, discover hidden secrets, and develop new collaborative strategies for defeating their enemies.

Using their phone or tablet as a controller for the onscreen action, players will face down fearsome monsters, manage their inventory of card-based items and skills, and interact with merchants and other characters inhabiting the Sunderlands. No elaborate setup, rulebooks, or materials are needed; Sunderfolk introduces a streamlined alternative to the traditional tabletop-gaming experience and makes playing and having fun together more accessible than ever.

“We have a bunch of dedicated board and tabletop game fanatics on the team at Secret Door—getting together for game night has been a regular highlight for many of us going back years and years,” said Chris Sigaty, studio head of Secret Door. “As developers we also like to look at what inspires us and think about how to make those types of experiences easier to get into, so that more people can enjoy them as much as we do. With Sunderfolk, we’re excited to offer players a game that’s easy to pick up and play, while still challenging to master, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

“The team at Secret Door, and really all of us at Dreamhaven, are all about bringing players together around fun experiences,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Dreamhaven. “Sunderfolk is a beautiful game, it’s full of personality and charm, and it also creates epic moments where everyone is engaging directly with each other to work out strategies or celebrate victories. There’s nothing quite like it, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what players think.”

Key highlights of Sunderfolk:

  • Rediscover Game Night: The best adventures are meant to be shared. Up to four can play Sunderfolk, either in person or virtually, with each player’s phone or tablet serving as a seamless interface for character management and controlling the action on the TV or local/streamed monitor screen—a new spin on the classic game night experience.
  • Answer the Call to Adventure: Choose to play as one of six distinctive heroes (Arcanist, Bard, Berserker, Pyromancer, Ranger, Rogue), each with their own strategic role and passive ability. The heroes can be tailored and customized with weapons, armor, items, and skills as they level up, creating a powerful and well-rounded party equipped to overcome the challenges ahead.
  • Step Into a New World: Sunderfolk takes place in a handcrafted fantasy setting full of imaginative locations, exotic creatures, and eccentric characters. Dark forces are emerging from the Sunderlands and threatening Arden, and it falls to the players to protect the peaceful village and its inhabitants. Arden serves as a base of operations that expands with new shops and services as players progress through the game. Return to Arden between missions to upgrade vendors for new items and equipment, and befriend the townsfolk to gain rewards.
  • Put Your Tactics to the Test: In combat, players must strategize on positioning and turn order, selecting from their deck of Skill Cards to execute movements and attacks and use items. Luck is also involved, with Fate Cards played every turn that can impact their effectiveness. As they complete missions, players gain experience and rewards, gradually unlocking ways to customize their decks. The key to victory is understanding the strengths of the heroes and collaborating on a strategy based on the battle map and monsters in play.
