Korea IL-2 Series Announcement Trailer

Renowned developers of the award-winning IL-2 Sturmovik series are proud to reveal their latest entry in the historical aerial combat simulator genre: Korea. IL-2 Series. This announcement coincides with the 74th anniversary of the Korean War, paying homage to a pivotal moment in aviation and world history. Continuing the franchise’s legacy of excellence, Korea is set to deliver an unparalleled, immersive experience set to launch on Windows PC through Steam and the IL-2 series store in 2025.

Sometimes referred to as The Forgotten War, this conflict marked a pivotal moment not only in aerial combat history, but in the history of international conflicts. The Korean War marked the first time jet engines served alongside their piston-powered counterparts and also signaled the end of close-quarters combat, as later on missile technology would greatly expand the engagement airspace. To this day, nearly 75 years later, no peace treaty has been signed by opposing forces. To encapsulate the gravity of soaring into this perilous battle, the developers have accounted for historical data, technical achievements, and the latest gameplay technology to deliver an accurate representation of this important era in aviation.

FIGHT AND FLIGHT

Rise to the next level of flight combat simulators. Fly eight legendary aircraft such as the F-86A Sabre and MiG-15, with major systems intricately modeled inside and out, visible for better or worse, such as when taking damage. Immerse yourself further with options to exit and enter the cockpit, where you can pilot using your own flight controllers and gamepads. Revised radio communications and command systems help relay messages, while intelligent sortie recording keeps a close eye on your performance. To top it all off, the game features VR compatibility for an unparalleled, immersive experience.

Staying true to its legacy, Korea will once again push the boundaries of realistic flight simulation. The game features a cutting-edge physically based rendering (PBR) DirectX graphics renderer, offering breathtaking landscapes filled with detailed, visible landmarks—both natural and man-made. Players can explore cities, rivers, and airfields within a vast 440x440km airspace, enhancing the immersive experience.

REALISM

In addition to aerial combat, players will have hands-on responsibilities like managing personnel, supplies, and their aircraft, mirroring real-life wartime duties. You’ll face various missions, from joining large-scale air raids to defending your people and planes. Whether it’s naval units, ground units like infantry squads, or meticulously recreated aircraft such as the Tu-2 and B-29 bombers, you’ll have a wide range of challenges. Thanks to advanced technology, air raids are now larger and more immersive than ever before, with better rendering of large groups.

Velan Studios Announces Midnight Murder Club

Velan Studios today announced Midnight Murder Club, a tense new first-person shooter party game of hide and seek and shoot in the dark, coming to PC via Steam in Fall 2024. In Midnight Murder Club, the unique pitch black gameplay has players slowly creeping through the inky darkness of an old Victorian mansion, armed with only a flashlight and revolver, trying to complete their mission and survive. As they navigate through the dark hallways, they must keep an eye out for other club members that might be hiding in the shadows, more than willing to kill to be the last ones standing. Midnight Murder Club is a new heart-pounding and hilarious first-person shooter party game for friends. Those daring enough to join the Midnight Murder Club can now wishlist the game on Steam here.

To give players a sneak peek inside the murderous mansion, Velan Studios has released a first look at Midnight Murder Club in the heart-pounding and hilarious announcement trailer here:

“With Midnight Murder Club, we started with a simple game jam idea of a shooter in the dark and we quickly realized that we had something unique,” said Eric Feurstein, Game Director, Velan Studios. “By playing with light, dark and sound, we’re able to offer a riveting gameplay experience that keeps players’ adrenaline pumping. Playing in pitch darkness is an immediately novel experience where you’re scared to turn your flashlight on for fear that someone will see it, but also don’t want to turn it off for fear of losing your way. You’ll strain your ears to hear footsteps in the darkness, calling out to the shadows, and dreading the response. These are the primal fears we are tapping into with Midnight Murder Club.”

Players will have to brave four thrilling modes of play to survive in Midnight Murder Club. Kill-or-be-killed in Deathmatch, a 2v2v2 and free-for-all formation mode in which players must rack up the most kills, or try to survive the night in Free for All, where club members navigate the mansion alone, aiming to be the most deadly by the end of the round. Hunter/Hunted mode sees two players take on the role of hunter to track down and prevent the remaining four players from finding and burning four hidden effigies, while Thief in the Night mode pairs players together in teams of two to sneak through the mansion and steal valuable items. All modes of play will test players’ wits as they navigate through complete darkness with only a flashlight to complete their survival mission.

Midnight Murder Club will launch on PC via Steam in 2024. For more information about Midnight Murder Club, be sure to visit the official website: https://www.midnightmurderclub.com

Atari Acquires Surgeon Simulator Franchise

Infogrames – a game publishing and distribution subsidiary of Atari — today announced the acquisition of the Surgeon Simulator franchise in an agreement with tinyBuild Inc. The popular medical operation sim combines first-person transplants, life-saving heroics, and dark humor with unexpected surgical theaters (a moving ambulance, hospital hallways, and even zero-gravity space).

The original was updated with more implausible surgery and ported to mobile and PS4 in 2014. Surgeon Simulator VR: Meet The Medic brought the franchise to VR on PlayStation 4 and Windows in 2016. The franchise reached the Nintendo Switch in 2018 with Surgeon Simulator CPR. A totally new sequel with four-player online co-op, Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas, reached PC in 2020 and Xbox in 2021.

“More than 10 years after the release of the original, Surgeon Simulator remains a popular and unique franchise,” said Infogrames Manager, Geoffroy Châteauvieux. “This was a rare opportunity to acquire a game with a timeless appeal, and we are excited to have Surgeon Simulator within the Infogrames portfolio.”Surgeon Simulator is the second casual multiplayer sim added to the portfolio by Infogrames, which acquired the game, trademarks, and underlying property of Totally Reliable Delivery Service in April 2024.
