Marvel Rivals Unveils Full Details for Season 3.5: The Abyss Awakens

Today, Marvel Games and NetEase Games have unveiled full details for Season 3.5: The Abyss Awaken for Marvel Rivals, the award-winning and critically-acclaimed Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter that lets players assemble an ever-evolving all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains battling with unique powers across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps from across the Marvel Multiverse. The game’s third season continuation is set to kick off August 8 and will introduce Blade as a playable hero along with a new map, Throne of Knull. Season 3.5 will also introduce new features, Team-Ups and a new game mode: Resource Rumble.

The full details and features for Season 3.5 in Marvel Rivals are below and in the latest episode of Dev Vision.

Season 3.0 further ignited the battle: the mighty Phoenix was ambushed, forcing most of the Phoenix Force to seek refuge within a cosmic egg, awaiting its fiery rebirth. But as heroes clashed, the Phoenix Egg cracked prematurely. The scattered Phoenix Force found new hosts among our heroes, yet it also awakened an ancient evil. Knull, the King in Black, has now risen to full power, wielding the All-Black once more, and his Queen in Black still spreads her wings. Amid this chaos, Blade, forever walking the razor’s edge between two worlds, will be the first to light a fire upon the abyss, bringing fresh power to the fight.

Blade (Duelist) – In Season 3.5, the long-awaited Daywalker finally joins Marvel Rivals! Blade is a true Duelist; his unique bloodline gives him incredible strength, and his mastery of combat puts it to full use. He can pressure foes at mid-to-close range with his shotgun, and reduce their healing at just the right moment, then unleash his ravenous Ancestral Sword, awaken the Dhampir bloodline, and slice through every last enemy! And when the time is right, he will draw the legendary Sword of Dracula, dashing through foes and leaving a deadly trail in his wake. In that moment, Blade is the fiercest force on the battlefield. A true hero never looks back!

A new game mode, Resource Rumble, and its map, Throne of Knull, will arrive with the August 22 update. It will launch in Quick Match first to gather player feedback and fine-tune the experience, before rolling it out for Competitive play. Stay tuned for a gameplay deep dive soon!

Operation: Shield the Community

Great teamwork starts with great communication. To keep Marvel Rivals a positive experience for all, the team has been upgrading the in-game environment. As of July 24, in addition to player reports and manual review, all in-game voice chat will now be automatically screened by the system, with human review. This means we’ll catch more toxic behavior, and players using inappropriate language will be penalized, making the game a better place for everyone.

With the Season 3.5 update, we’re also adding a custom filter for text chat. If a message contains a muted word, it will be filtered out just for you. This feature will empower players to tailor their experience. We’ll also regularly review popular muted words and consider adding them to the official list.

Competitive Quitting Penalties & Compensation

We know how frustrating it is when a teammate leaves a Competitive match. This creates an unfair situation where the team with fewer players has a much harder time winning, and if they stick it out until the end, they still face losing competitive points. To combat this, in Season 3.5, we’re increasing penalties for players who quit: longer bans from Competitive play, and bigger point deductions. For the remaining players who stay, we’ll now offer some point compensation at the end of the match. Plus, surrender votes will require just one less than the number of remaining teammates. If someone leaves due to unavoidable system issues, we’ll review it and handle penalties fairly, and we’re speeding up the appeals process for mistaken bans.

Ignite Mid-Season Finals

From August 6 -10, the Marvel Rivals Ignite Mid-Season Finals will be held in Guangzhou, China! Ten factions from around the world will compete for the championship. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more info.

Season 3.5 Updates and New Team-Ups

The Season 3.5 update brings a fresh round of changes to team-up abilities: We’re removing Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock – Mantis/Star-Lord) and Atlas Bond (Iron Fist – Luna Snow) from play. Loki is leaving the Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela – Thor/Loki) team-up. Two brand new team-ups are being added: Duality Dance (Adam Warlock – Luna Snow) and Vibrant Vitality (Mantis – Groot/Loki). Also, some team-ups are welcoming new members: Iron Fist joins Chilling Assault (Luna Snow – Hawkeye), Star-Lord connects to the Rocket Network (Rocket Raccoon – Peni Parker), and Blade launches into Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger – Moon Knight).

In addition to the above, players can continue to get all the latest information from the Game Update featuring full Patch Notes and Hero Balance adjustments.

Starz Announces Winter Premiere for Gladiator Drama Spartacus: House of Ashur

STARZ (NASDAQ: STRZ) announced a Winter debut for its epic gladiator drama, “Spartacus: House of Ashur,” with a fiery new teaser trailer released during a panel today at San Diego Comic-Con. The action-packed teaser primed fans for the much-anticipated next chapter in the “Spartacus” franchise, led by executive producer and showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (“Daredevil”). Joining DeKnight on the San Diego Comic-Con panel was the show’s cast, including, Nick E. Tarabay (“Spartacus,” “The Expanse”), Tenika Davis (“Jupiter’s Legacy,” Cabinet of Curiosities), Graham McTavish (“The Witcher,” “House of the Dragon”), Jamaica Vaughan (“Home and Away,” “800 Words”), Jordi Webber (Choose Love, “Prosper”), and Jaime Slater (“Jupiter’s Legacy,” Pacific Rim: Uprising), with Liam McIntyre (“Spartacus: Vengeance,” “Spartacus: War of the Damned”), who played the role of “Spartacus” in previous chapters, moderating.

“Spartacus: House of Ashur” is a thrilling, erotic, history-bending, roller-coaster experience that builds on everything that made the original series a colossal hit. What if he lived, and the Romans rewarded his treachery with the gladiator school where he once bled? Welcome to the House of Ashur. No longer a slave, Ashur has clawed his way to power, owning the same ludus that once owned him. But ruling a band of merciless gladiators is child’s play compared to surviving the savage world of Roman politics — a cutthroat game in which betrayal isn’t a sin, it’s currency. He flips tradition on its head by unleashing Achillia, a fierce and powerful gladiatrix eager to prove herself worthy in a man’s world. Together, they ignite a new kind of spectacle that shocks, disrupts, and offends the elite with every drop of blood.

“Spartacus: Blood and Sand” debuted on STARZ in 2010 and was followed by the prequel series chapter “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” in 2011, and two additional chapters, “Spartacus: Vengeance” in 2012 and “Spartacus: War of the Damned” in 2013. The original series, “Spartacus,” and all subsequent chapters are available on the STARZ app.

“Spartacus” creator, writer, and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight (“Daredevil”) serves as showrunner and executive producer on “Spartacus: House of Ashur.” Rick Jacobson (“Dark City: The Cleaner,” The Royal Treatment) and Aaron Helbing (“The Flash”, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”) also serve as executive producers. “Spartacus: House of Ashur” is produced by Lionsgate Television for STARZ.

Halloween Horror Nights Reveals Five Nights at Freddy’s and WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks

Halloween Horror Nights awakens two iconic franchises in all-new terrifying haunted houses inspired by the blockbuster film Five Nights at Freddy’s and WWE’s legendary The Wyatt Sicks. The horror kicks off at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 29 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4.

Five Nights at Freddy’s

Guests will fight to survive as they venture through an all-new haunted house inspired by the 2023 hit film Five Nights at Freddy’s, Blumhouse’s highest-grossing movie to date and an adaptation of the horror videogame phenomenon.

Guests will follow in the footsteps of Mike, who was recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of his little sister, after he accepts a position as a night security guard in an abandoned themed entertainment center: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. The terror will start as guests navigate the corridors and learn that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems when they encounter the supernatural and become lured into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare.

The journey will bring guests face-to-face with full-scale replicas of the eerie characters from the film—Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Mr. Cupcake—as they stalk visitors through iconic scenes, including the security room and the showroom where the chilling characters performed. The larger-than-life characters for the haunted houses were created in collaboration with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, who also masterfully produced the animatronics and corresponding costumes for the fan-favorite film.

WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks

Guests will be immersed in the world of WWE in the bi-coastal haunted houses “WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks,” where they will go head-to-head with Uncle Howdy in an experience that not only features The Wyatt Sicks but honors the legacy of Bray Wyatt. The group derives from the creative mind of Bray Wyatt and was resurrected in 2024 by his brother Bo Dallas, also known as Uncle Howdy – the fearless leader of The Wyatt Sicks. The chilling crew of five has quickly emerged as one of the most disturbing and disruptive groups in WWE history with its ominous presence and portrayal of dark and twisted characters – all of which will come to life at Halloween Horror Nights this fall.

Horror fans brave enough to travel through the light of the lantern will find themselves transported into the maniacal minds of The Wyatt Sicks, where each member reigns supreme within their own horrific domains. There, Uncle Howdy together with Ramblin Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch and Huskus the Pig will be waiting to take bloody retribution on a world that has abandoned them. Along the way, guests will be stalked by the eerie presence of The Fiend, Bray’s sadistic alter ego, who looms within the shadows and beckons them to let him in.

Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Review: A Home Office Warrior’s Perspective

As a gamer who has been navigating virtual worlds for the better part of three decades, my priorities have shifted. The flashing lights and aggressive aesthetics that once seemed essential have given way to a desire for performance, comfort, and, most importantly, focus. My gaming rig is tucked away in a home office, a space that is rarely as quiet as I’d like. Between the hum of the air conditioner, the distant sounds of family life, and the general background noise of a household, creating an immersive gaming sanctuary can be a challenge. It was with this mindset that I approached the new Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, a headset with a legendary lineage that now promises the one feature I’ve been craving most: active noise cancellation.

From the moment I unboxed it, the V3 Pro felt familiar, yet refined. It retains the classic aviation-style design that has defined the BlackShark series, a look I’ve always found more purposeful and less ostentatious than many of its competitors. Razer hasn’t reinvented the wheel here, but the small improvements are noticeable. The yokes connecting the earcups to the headband feel sturdier than in previous generations, and they now offer about 15 degrees of swivel, a subtle change that makes a significant difference in finding a comfortable, conforming fit. The large, textured volume knob on the left earcup is a brilliant tactile touch, easy to find and adjust without fumbling mid-game.

Comfort, for me, is non-negotiable during long sessions, and the V3 Pro largely delivers. Razer has employed a clever hybrid design for the ear cushions, combining a leatherette base for a solid seal with a soft, breathable cloth top layer. The result is excellent passive noise isolation without the sweaty, sticky feeling that full leatherette cups can produce. At 367 grams, it’s not the lightest headset on the market, but the weight is well-balanced, and the clamping force feels secure without being vice-like. My only minor gripe is with the headband; while padded, it could use just a bit more cushioning to completely eliminate any feeling of pressure on the crown of my head during multi-hour raids.

The headline feature, for my purposes, is the Active Noise Cancellation. Toggled by a dedicated button on the right earcup, the ANC is surprisingly effective for a gaming headset. It excels at eliminating the low-frequency, constant drones that plague my office—the whir of computer fans, the hum of the AC, the low rumble from the dishwasher down the hall. It creates a bubble of focus that is genuinely transformative for immersion. While it won’t completely silence a sudden, sharp noise or a nearby conversation quite like a high-end set of Bose or Sony cans, it’s a massive value-add that puts it a step above most of its gaming-focused rivals.

The core of any gaming headset is its audio performance, and this is where the BlackShark V3 Pro truly asserts its dominance. The headset is equipped with new 50mm TriForce Bio-Cellulose drivers. This advanced diaphragm material is thinner and more rigid than traditional designs, which translates into an astonishingly powerful and clean sound profile. The bass response is where you first notice the difference; it’s deep, impactful, and textured without ever becoming muddy or overwhelming the other frequencies. In action-heavy titles, every explosion and ground-shaking impact is delivered with cinematic force.

This low-end prowess is perfectly balanced with crystal-clear mids and highs, creating a wide, detailed soundscape. Positional audio is exceptionally precise. Thanks to the PC-specific THX Spatial Audio, which creates a convincing 7.1.4 virtual surround sound environment, I could pinpoint the direction of enemy footsteps, reloads, and distant gunfire with unnerving accuracy. The only slight blemish on its otherwise stellar audio report is a touch of sharpness in the upper treble. In certain situations, sounds like shattering glass or specific high-pitched weapon effects can come across as a bit shrill, though this was easily tamed with a quick adjustment in Razer’s Synapse software.

Connectivity is another area where Razer has clearly listened to feedback. The primary connection for any serious PC gamer is the new HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 dongle. It achieves a blistering 10ms latency, a figure so low that the connection is indistinguishable from a wired one. The dongle itself is a bit unusual, requiring a USB cable to connect to your PC rather than plugging in directly, which feels a bit clunky but does allow you to position it for optimal signal strength. The addition of simultaneous Bluetooth 5.3 is a fantastic quality-of-life feature, allowing me to take a quick call on my phone without ever losing game audio.

And then there’s the microphone. In a world of tinny, compressed headset mics, the BlackShark V3 Pro’s new detachable 12mm microphone is a revelation. With a sampling rate of up to 48kHz, it captures voice with a richness and clarity that is genuinely broadcast-grade. My teammates on Discord immediately commented on the difference, noting my voice sounded more natural and present than ever before. Its only minor weakness is that it isn’t the best at rejecting background noise, so a particularly loud mechanical keyboard might still be audible, but my voice always remained front and center.

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is a masterclass in iteration. It takes a beloved design and enhances it with meaningful, practical upgrades. For a gamer like me, who values performance and immersion above all else, it’s nearly perfect. The powerful, precise audio, the lag-free wireless connection, the outstanding microphone, and the genuinely useful active noise cancellation combine to create a premium experience that justifies its price tag. It has successfully turned my sometimes-chaotic home office into a dedicated gaming cockpit, and for that, it has earned a permanent place on my desk.

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro retails for $249.99 and is available now!

Overall Score 5 out of 5

Pros:

  • Phenomenal audio quality
  • Best-in-class wireless performance
  • Broadcast-grade detachable microphone
  • Effective Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
  • Comfortable, breathable hybrid earcups

Cons:

  • Microphone could reject a bit more background noise but I’m nitpicking

The Temple of Elemental Evil Coming Soon to Steam

Today, SNEG, Ltd., curator and publisher of treasured classic PC games, is using its Scroll of Sending to share exciting news about another new release in its catalog of classic DUNGEONS & DRAGONS games for PC. This time, it’s The Temple of Elemental Evil: A Classic Greyhawk Adventure, set for release on Steam this September. Based on the iconic and genre-defining DUNGEONS & DRAGONS tabletop adventure of the same name, and using the 3.5 edition of the tabletop ruleset coupled with intense tactical combat, The Temple of Elemental Evil challenges adventurers to explore the titular temple, facing off against monsters and cultists while dealing with four elemental-themed factions who are at war with one another!

The Temple of Elemental Evil was first released in 2003 and has since garnered a passionate community around it. Over the years, fans have added a lot to the game and kept it alive in ways we really admire. This version builds on that work, and we’re genuinely thankful to everyone who’s helped along the way.
An evil demoness founded a cult dedicated to exploring evil in its most elemental forms. This cult was based in a temple just outside the village of Hommlet in a vile shire known as Nulb. Soon, this cult ruled the region with tyranny; times of chaos and violence ensued. Hard-fought battles were waged and the war was eventually won by the good armies of nearby lands. The temple was razed, the villains were imprisoned, and order was restored. The temple itself faded into distant memory…until now.
