EVE Frontier to Launch on Layer-1 Blockchain Sui

CCP Games, creators of the iconic sci-fi MMO EVE Online, today announced that EVE Frontier, its space survival MMO currently in early development, will be built on Sui, the Layer-1 blockchain originally developed by Mysten Labs. With more than tens of thousands of star systems and countless player-built ships, factories, and infrastructure set to populate EVE Frontier’s cosmos, Sui’s object-centric architecture offers a natural fit for modeling a virtual world of this scale and complexity. Additionally, Sui enables near-instant transaction finality, parallel execution of transactions, and more expressive smart contracts — all essential for bringing more aspects of EVE Frontier’s gameplay on-chain.

This announcement marks a significant step in CCP Games long-standing commitment to creating virtual worlds that are shaped entirely by its players. Building EVE Frontier on Sui represents the next evolution of that vision, marrying CCP Games expertise in large-scale sandbox design with a blockchain built for object ownership, composability, and scalability. This technical and ideological alignment ensures that as EVE Frontier grows, its universe can support deep economic interactions, sophisticated governance, and a truly persistent on-chain record of player history.

“Since inception, our mission has been to create virtual worlds more meaningful than real life. With EVE Frontier, we are pushing that ambition further than ever before: building a player moddable universe, bound by its own digital physics, that can outlive us all,” said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games. “As we dug into how Sui is architected, we came across so many familiar concepts, such as how their object-centric approach neatly matches our historic item-centric approach, enabling billions of objects/items, all placed by players, shaping a living universe. For us, Sui offered the unique alignment of architecture, security, and user experience. Together, we’re building a world that can truly stand the test of time.”

CCP Games is designing EVE Frontier to be massively moddable, empowering players and third-party developers to create new objects, structures, and systems called “Smart Assemblies”. This vision demands an environment where player-built content can be deployed safely at scale, without introducing vulnerabilities into the game world. Sui’s robust security model is crucial in allowing the community to build and deploy via Sui tooling in such a way that the compiled code does not compromise the integrity of the universe. In addition to Sui’s powerful combination of speed and scalability, CCP Games will also utilize Mysten Labs’ full stack of decentralized technology solutions, including Walrus, the developer platform for trustworthy data, and Seal, which provides native data access controls. Together, these enable new opportunities for players to leverage information asymmetry and exploit intelligence in their pursuit to thrive in the Frontier.

“Much of Sui’s early design was shaped by the needs of high-performance games with full programmability for players,” said Sam Blackshear, co-founder and CTO of Mysten Labs, the original contributors to Sui. “EVE Frontier is the first game to leverage all of the novel features that Sui, Walrus, and Seal offer. We’re inspired by CCP Games vision to build a truly player-defined game that outlasts its creators. It’s a perfect match for the technical ambition of Sui.”

EVE Frontier is in the process of porting the current Founder Access build of the game over to Sui. This initial port will also aim to implement many of Sui’s features to enhance the user experience, such as zkLogin for native account abstraction, allowing users to sign in with their email addresses, and sponsored gas fees for users, enabling onboarding without barriers and seamlessly bringing billions of player-driven interactions on-chain.

SCUF Valor Pro Wireless Review: A Pro Controller with a Painful Flaw

As a competitive gamer for the better part of two decades, I’ve seen my fair share of controllers. I’ve burned through standard issue gamepads, tinkered with elite models, and have a small graveyard of peripherals that promised an edge but delivered only disappointment. So when SCUF Gaming announced the Valor Pro Wireless, a controller packing their new drift-proof thumbsticks, I was cautiously optimistic. SCUF has a reputation to uphold, but the pro controller market is a battlefield littered with expensive failures. After spending significant time with it in the trenches of online multiplayer, I can say the Valor Pro is a weapon of immense potential, but one with a very specific, and at times, deeply flawed design.

The moment you pick it up, the first thing you notice is the weight. It’s noticeably lighter than its main rival, the Xbox Elite Series 2, which can be a blessing during marathon gaming sessions where fatigue becomes a real factor. The performance grip, a rubberized material with a subtle hexagonal texture, feels fantastic. It provides a secure, confident hold that never slipped, even when my palms started to sweat during a tense final circle. SCUF has clearly spent years refining this aspect of their design, and it shows.

Unfortunately, the praise for its feel largely ends there for me. The controller’s overall shape is the most divisive I have ever encountered. SCUF calls it a more compact design, but in my average-sized hands, it felt uncomfortably small. Some of my friends with larger hands have called it “girthy” and comfortable, but I found my fingers feeling cramped. This leads to the single biggest problem with the Valor Pro Wireless, the placement of its rear paddles and trigger stops. While the idea of four paddles is great, their positioning felt completely unnatural. The inner paddles were too high, forcing my ring finger into an awkward reach, while the outer paddles were just…there. Worse yet, the physical switches for the trigger stops are placed in a way that my middle finger constantly rubbed against their sharp plastic edges. After one particularly long session, I had a painful red mark on my finger, something I have never experienced with any other controller. This isn’t a matter of preference; it’s a fundamental ergonomic misstep that can cause genuine discomfort.

The headline feature, of course, is the Endurance TMR thumbsticks, SCUF’s answer to the stick drift plague. On this front, they deliver. The magnetic Hall Effect sensors provide a smooth, precise feel with the promise of incredible durability. I could run zero deadzone in my favorite shooters without a hint of drift, which felt amazing. However, the out-of-the-box experience was jarring. The stick tension is significantly stiffer than a standard Xbox controller, and the default acceleration curve felt unnatural and scooped. It took a lot of getting used to, and my aim suffered for the first few days. The included thumbstick toppers are also a letdown, feeling short and a bit slippery for my taste.

This is where the wireless model’s secret weapon comes into play: the SCUF Valor Pro Companion App. This piece of software is absolutely essential. It allows you to dive in and adjust the thumbstick response curves, tweak deadzones, and remap buttons to your heart’s content. After about an hour of fine-tuning, I was able to dial in a response curve that eliminated that weird acceleration feeling and made the sticks feel responsive and linear. Without this app, I would have likely given up on the controller entirely. This makes the cheaper, wired version a much harder sell, as it lacks any software support, leaving you at the mercy of the questionable factory settings.

The other “pro” features are a mixed bag. The adjustable instant triggers are a staple, allowing you to switch from a full analog pull for racing games to a short, mouse-click actuation for shooters. The full pull feels smooth and consistent, but the instant-click setting felt surprisingly stiff, requiring more force than I expected and somewhat defeating the purpose of a hair-trigger. The four back paddles also have an odd inconsistency. Only the two inner paddles provide a satisfying, tactile click, while the outer two feel like standard, mushy membrane buttons. For a premium controller, this lack of uniformity feels like a cost-cutting measure. On a more positive note, the tri-mode connectivity is superb, offering low-latency wireless, Bluetooth, and a wired option that enables a blistering 1000 Hz polling rate on PC for near-instantaneous input. The battery life, however, is a clear step down from the competition. At a maximum of 17 hours, it pales in comparison to the 40 hours offered by the Elite Series 2.

Ultimately, the SCUF Valor Pro Wireless is a controller built on a contradiction. It brilliantly solves the long-standing issue of stick drift with its TMR thumbsticks but fumbles badly on fundamental ergonomics. Its performance is heavily dependent on software tuning, making the wireless version the only one truly worth considering for serious players. It’s a specialist’s tool, not an all-rounder. If its unique, compact shape happens to fit your hands perfectly, and you’re willing to put in the work to customize its software, it could be the durable, high-performance controller you’ve been waiting for. For everyone else, the awkward paddle placement, uncomfortable trigger stops, and high price make it a risky gamble that’s hard to recommend over the safer, more universally comfortable Xbox Elite Series 2.

Overall Rating 3 out of 5

Pros:

  • Endurance TMR thumbsticks
  • Excellent non-slip grip
  • Versatile tri-mode connectivity
  • Deep customization options via the Companion App

Cons:

  • Extremely divisive ergonomics
  • Poor placement of rear paddles and trigger stop switches
  • Inconsistent tactile feedback between inner and outer paddles
  • Shorter Battery life than key competitors
  • Membrane based buttons feel squishy and dated

Logitech G515 RAPID TKL Review: Your Unfair Advantage in Gaming and Spreadsheets

The keyboard market is in the middle of a fascinating evolution. For years, the debate was about the color of your mechanical switch. Now, a new technology is changing the conversation entirely. Analog magnetic switches, with their promise of customizable, lightning-fast inputs, have moved from a niche enthusiast feature to the new standard for competitive gaming. Logitech, a titan of the industry, has now made its move with the Logitech G G515 RAPID TKL, a keyboard that aims to package this cutting-edge performance into an incredibly slim and stylish frame. It’s a device that feels equally at home in a frantic firefight and a Monday morning meeting, but does it successfully serve both masters?

From the moment you unbox it, the G515 makes a strong impression with its design. It is remarkably thin, standing just 22 millimeters tall, which immediately sets it apart from the chunky, aggressive look of many gaming keyboards. This low profile isn’t just for show; it creates a more neutral, comfortable wrist posture that feels similar to typing on a modern laptop, reducing strain over long sessions without needing a wrist rest (which, notably, is not included). The aesthetic is clean and confident, successfully bridging the gap between a serious gaming peripheral and classy office equipment. My white review unit looked gorgeous on the desk, with its contrasting dark gray WASD keys offering a subtle nod to its gaming pedigree.

Logitech built the keyboard on a solid foundation. A stainless steel top plate gives it a surprising heft and rigidity, ensuring it stays planted during intense gameplay, while the double-shot PBT keycaps feel premium and are built to last, resisting the shine that plagues lesser materials. However, the execution isn’t flawless. I noticed some minor but definite wobble in the keycaps, which could occasionally feel awkward during rapid presses. Additionally, the backlighting on larger keys like Shift and Control appeared somewhat uneven, fading toward the edges. These are small blemishes on an otherwise high-quality physical package, but they do detract slightly from the premium feel.

The real magic of the G515 lies beneath those keycaps. The keyboard uses magnetic analog switches that are factory pre-lubricated and sit within a sound-dampened chassis. The result is a typing experience that is strikingly smooth and almost silent. The sound is a short, precise, and satisfying thud, a world away from the loud clatter of traditional mechanical boards. It’s a keyboard you can use in a shared space without annoying everyone around you. This refined feel makes it a joy for productivity. I found myself typing quickly and accurately, making it a fantastic hybrid device for anyone who works and plays on the same machine.

For gaming, the magnetic switches unlock a new level of control. Through Logitech’s G HUB software, you can customize the actuation point of every single key, from a hair-trigger 0.1mm to a more deliberate 2.5mm. This allows for incredible personalization. The standout feature, however, is Rapid Trigger. This technology dynamically resets a key the instant it begins to travel upwards, allowing for impossibly fast repeated inputs. In games like Valorant, this provides a noticeable advantage, making movements like strafing and peeking feel incredibly responsive and precise. It’s a feature that, once you get used to it, is hard to live without.

This powerful performance is entirely dependent on the Logitech G HUB software, and this is where the experience can become complicated. The software is undeniably powerful, offering deep customization for everything from key assignments and macros to complex, multi-layered profiles with a feature called KEYCONTROL. You can even assign two different actions to a single keypress at different depths. The potential is immense. Unfortunately, the software itself can be clunky and unintuitive. I experienced moments where automatic profile switching failed to work, which can be frustrating when you’re jumping into a game. A user’s satisfaction with the G515 will be directly tied to their willingness to learn and occasionally wrestle with its software.

Logitech made some deliberate sacrifices to achieve the G515’s minimalist form. There are no dedicated media keys or a volume roller, functions that are instead relegated to secondary FN key combinations. This is a conscious trade-off. Including those features would have required a larger chassis, compromising the keyboard’s core identity as an ultra-slim device. It’s a decision that clearly targets users who prioritize a sleek, low-profile design above all else.

Ultimately, the Logitech G G515 RAPID TKL is a superb, highly focused keyboard. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. Instead, it delivers an exceptional experience for a specific type of user: the competitive gamer who also values a clean, professional aesthetic and a comfortable, quiet typing experience for daily work. The magnetic switches provide a real, tangible advantage in-game, and the slim design is both beautiful and ergonomic. While minor build quality issues and a sometimes-frustrating software experience hold it back from perfection, it remains a fantastic choice for anyone who fits its unique profile. It’s a calculated investment in both speed and style, and for the right person, it’s an investment that pays off beautifully.

Overall Rating 4 out of 5

Pros:

  • Beautiful design
  • Magnetic switches
  • Powerful gaming features

Cons:

  • Dependent on sometimes-clunky G HUB software
  • Lacks dedicated media controls
  • Some minor quality control issues with keycap wobble
