The Pageant of the Masters’ creative team of artists and technicians have reunited to resurrect the acclaimed haunted house as part of the Pageant of the Masters 90th Anniversary celebration. Themed the “Maze of the Minotaur,” guests will be directed through the amphitheater, Pageant workshops and stage, which have been transformed into the labyrinth from ancient Greek legend. Those daring enough to enter will join the valiant Warrior Theseus and embark on a harrowing mission to rescue the Minotaur’s captives and navigate the labyrinth’s twisting passages to find a means of escape. “Halloween has always been my favorite annual celebration. Lose yourself in a surreal, psycho-horror dreamscape as you investigate a mysterious Malibu cult in Dead Island 2’s first story expansion, Haus, launching on Nov. 2.

Haus gives players an entirely new storyline to smash zombies through. Amidst the Zompocalypse, a billionaire’s secret techno-death cult fights for survival in Haus, where humanity is unleashed from its moral restraints. The group’s leader, Konstantin, prophesizes that this is the “paragon of a new future.” It’s up to players to prove them wrong.

CATAN – Console Edition Nintendo Switch Launch Date

CATAN – Console Edition is making its way to the Nintendo Switch! Starting on November 9, 2023, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play the hugely popular board game with friends and family on the couch, online or on the move – all on the board that comes to life. The official console version of the hit international board game has been in development courtesy of Dovetail Games with help from the team over at Nomad Games.

The much-anticipated November release of the Super Deluxe edition of the game includes the base game of CATAN, five championship maps and The Helpers (the first official expansion to CATAN – Console Edition.) Alongside the Super Deluxe version, Dovetail Games has two additional editions: Deluxe and Standard. The Deluxe version includes the base game and championship maps, while the Standard version contains the base game of CATAN. Players who buy the Standard edition of CATAN and decide at a later date to get The Helpers/championship maps, can purchase separately.

Players will immerse themselves in a vibrant animated board, populated with characters farming and mining resources, sheep roaming their respective hexes and the Robber waiting for the moment to move. Success comes with earning Victory Points, which can be gained in various ways, including building the ‘Longest Road’ or amassing the ‘Largest Army.’ Building cities and settlements also earn Victory Points, as well as through the tactical use of Development Cards.

The Helpers expansion pack adds an additional layer of strategy (and fun) to the base game of CATAN by introducing 12 characters known as Helpers. Each Helper brings its own unique and specialized skills to give players a strategic advantage in developing their fledgling communities into thriving cities. The rules and conditions of victory remain the same as it was in the base game, but the way to get there is more intriguing. Update 0.5.0 – The Hives of Valaka brings the fight underground with Hive Hunt: a new combat mode focused on quick assaults with shorter matches limited to 4 players, and set across 3 new maps within the dark and dangerous cave networks of Valaka. In the hives, tactical positioning and skillful utilization of each class becomes even more important, while the shorter match lengths keep combat dynamic, varied and fast-paced.

Along with introducing the Hives of Valaka, Update 0.5.0 adds new weapons to bolster your firepower in the battle against the Bugs: each class now has its own specialty shotgun, as well as a sniper rifle available to the Hunter, adding utility to both close quarters and long-range combat. Every class also has new loadout items, and the Offworld Industries team has increased Level Caps to help keep combat smooth and balanced, with 30 now the maximum available progression level for each class. Keeping track of your progression has also been simplified, as XP will now be displayed on screen. These features are being introduced to solicit further player feedback and may be adjusted in the future.

By working closely with the community players through Early Access, the Offworld Industries team has enlisted all ST:E fans to help determine what features and mechanics to build upon and evolve before the game’s eventual transition into 1.0.
