Dave the Diver Gets New Content Update

Today MINTROCKET is releasing a free update to the cozy diving adventure hybrid, Dave the Diver, adding a fresh questline, new event boss, novel species, and more. This is the first major content update for the game since its 1.0 launch. The update will be available today on Steam, and will arrive on Nintendo Switch™ at launch on October 26th, 2023. Nintendo Switch™ pre-orders are available on the eShop, alongside a free demo for players who want to test the waters now; pre-orders come with an exclusive 8-bit themed skin for Dave’s boat, plus a Dave-shaped lamp decoration for the sushi restaurant.

The cute, colorful, and critically acclaimed Dave the Diver is surprisingly deep, with tons of secrets and gameplay to uncover as players explore. Players who download today’s update can follow novel missions in the Blue Hole’s Glacial Area, discover additional nighttime fish species, catch crustaceans with new crab and lobster traps (and enjoy a Lobster Party event), unlock a powerful new event boss after collecting all Marinca, and meet a novel VIP customer: The Wandering Merchant, who provides new secret recipes and crops. Speaking of crops, the update adds some farming automations and tools: players can now ask Sammy to help with tasks on the farm; they can set up a chicken feed dispenser and can use a new egg storage box to keep eggs from spoiling. The update also includes improvements to game load times and performance, as well as quality of life additions. Starting today, Steam players can collect new items from the Steam Points Shop, including trading cards, profiles, emojis, and badges.

Aside from the Steam Points Shop items mentioned above, MINTROCKET confirmed all content added in the latest update will be available on the Nintendo Switch at launch. The Switch version will also include new Joy-Con controls for certain activities and minigames— and of course the ability to play on the go: on the bus, on your boat, or while sunbathing on the beach beside the lapping ocean waves.

CitizenCon 2953 Returns on Oct 21-22

Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) is excited to announce new details about CitizenCon 2953, their annual celebration of the massive and growing community and universe for the in-development MMO Star Citizen. CitizenCon returns with the first in-person event in the last four years at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California on Oct. 21-22. The event will also be livestreamed and supported digitally, allowing fans from around the world to watch announcements, presentations, and competitions live. CitizenCon 2953 has grown both in size and scope, now occupying two full physical halls, and for the first time ever, will span two full days to accommodate the expanded programming of activities and reveals. Fans can watch the CitizenCon 2953 livestream on the Star Citizen Twitch channel when the show begins at 10:00am PDT on Saturday, Oct. 21, with the show ending at 7:00pm PDT. Day two is Sunday, Oct. 22, from 10:00am PDT – 5:30pm PDT.

Nightmarish Psychological Thriller Stray Souls Featured in New Ghost Files Episode

Independent game studio Jukai Studio and Versus Evil, one of the leading independent video game publishers, announced that its mystery-driven psychological horror game Stray Souls, which is coming to PC, PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox Series S|X on October 25th, has been featured in a new episode of the successful paranormal YouTube series, Ghost Files, out today.

Ghost Files is Watcher’s popular YouTube paranormal investigation series, running since 2022 and featuring previous Buzzfeed Unsolved hosts Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej as they search haunted locations for ghostly activities. In the Stray Souls crossover episode, the hosts conduct their first private home investigation for the show. Utilizing some of the same tactics Daniel uses in the game, the Ghoul Boys attempt to make contact with the spirits who haunt both the home and the Duyck family.
