Today, BioWare published a development blog titled Exploration Across Thedas, which features all-new flyover videos showcasing several of the diverse areas players will journey through in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, each with their own unique feel and style – Arlathan Forest, Hossberg Wetlands, Minrathous, Rivain and Treviso.
This blog also dives into The Lighthouse, which serves as a central place for Rook to rest, spend time with Companions, and learn more about the world through conversation. Additionally, details are shared surrounding The Crossroads – which allows the Veilguard to traverse Thedas in seconds, connecting the Lighthouse to more of the world than ever before. Last but not least, it shares details about how your companions interact with each other and the world around them as the story progresses.
Today, we’re back to share more about the world of Dragon Age: The Veilguard (minor spoilers below). While the game is a crafted experience telling a rich narrative, there are many areas to explore. The Lighthouse, for example, is a central place for Rook to rest, spend time with Companions, and learn more about the world through conversation. The Crossroads allow the Veilguard to traverse Thedas in seconds, connecting the Lighthouse to more of the world than ever before.
Throughout the story, you will go through many diverse areas, from the beauty of the lush Arlathan Forests to the busy streets of Minrathous. Veterans of the series have heard whispers in the past about each of these places in Thedas, but now you will actually be able to explore and experience them in-game. Each area has its own unique feel and style. There are several areas for exploration; each inviting you to delve deeper into the narrative and uncover the many mysteries Thedas holds. Check out a few of them here:
Arlathan Forest – Ancient magic and powerful artifacts re-awaken and reality thins across the woodlands that once held the heart of the Elvhen empire. The Veil Jumpers, masters of ancient elven magic, seek to stabilize the region and keep reality from crumbling.
Hossberg Wetlands – Much of this once-peaceful marshland has been consumed by the Blight. Darkspawn roam the swamps with impunity, but the Grey Wardens mount a valiant defense of the last safe haven – Lavendel.
Minrathous – Capital of the Tevinter Imperium, the Venatori wield corruption as they try to turn the Empire’s heart to their own dark purposes. Yet the people resist, with the rebel Shadow Dragons leading the charge.
Rivain – An ancient Grey Warden fortress sits among sparkling waters and lush greenery of the Rivain Coast; the Lords of Fortune call this paradise home. The servants of the gods have their own plans, however, and threaten to turn this sanctuary into a battlefield.
Treviso – A merchant city known for the beauty of its canals – and the deadliness of its assassins – Treviso is under Antaam occupation, a state of affairs that sits poorly with the Antivan Crows.
What’s There To Find?
While exploring the world, the Veilguard will come across many things to do and people to talk to. Of course, there will be loot to upgrade your equipment but there will also be puzzles and lore! There will be ancient statues, letters, and artifacts left behind to read and collect those Codex Entries. There are also new modes of transportation to find throughout the world, including fast travel.
There will be new ways for your Companions to interact with the world as well, with specific exploration abilities. For example, you may come across some ancient Elven artifacts for Bellara to Tinker with while you wander through Arlathan. Even when the Companions are back at the Lighthouse, Rook can use the Lyrium Dagger to take advantage of their Exploration Abilities. You may also spot Companions out and about, interacting with the world on their own. When heading to Treviso, we recommend finding Lucanis and enjoying a cup of coffee together.
The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse will serve as your new home during Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Each companion will have their own room, for them to decorate to their own taste. Their rooms will progress over the course of the story, and it will also be the main location for one-on-one chats with them. Rook will have a room of their own, as well! Lastly, you will find the Caretaker’s Workshop here, where items can be upgraded and enchanted.
The Crossroads
From the home base of the Lighthouse, you will be able to access The Crossroads, a meeting place of many Eluvians. This area will serve as the main connection from the Lighthouse to the rest of Thedas, as well as lead to a lot of side content. The Caretaker will act as a guide throughout this area, ferrying the party to different islands in the Fade. Additionally, there will be more puzzles to solve in this area and even some extra missions, but we’ll leave those shrouded in mystery to discover on your own.

Today, Coffee Stain Studios has launched the full version of their hit factory-building simulator Satisfactory. With over 6 million copies sold during its five years of Early Access development, the 1.0 release delivers a full narrative overhaul complete with mysteries for players to uncover, alongside Tier 9 content, allowing players to harness advanced alien tech. Expanding on this success, Coffee Stain Studios has also revealed that a console edition is in development, looking to bring the conveyor-belt goodness to even more budding Pioneers.
Both newcomers and veterans alike will need to uncover the mysteries of the alien planet of MASSAGE-2 (A-B)b, as they take the role of Pioneers at FICSIT Inc. tasked with advancing Project Assembly. By exploiting natural resources and alien artefacts, Pioneers must produce and transport parts off-planet via the Space Elevator to complete the great undertaking of the Save The Day program — the finer details of which are shrouded in mystery. Nonetheless, humanity is counting on these dedicated Pioneers!
With Phase 5 of Project Assembly now available, players can make use of advanced technologies. In this end-game stage, Portals allow for near-instantaneous transportation across the vast alien lands, and Dimensional Depots offer an efficient option for inventory management. Uniforms have also received some love, as players can now set their character colour, and choose between a range of helmets, tool trinkets, and tool skins!
Complete Project Assembly
Located atop the Space Elevator, players can see the fruits of their labour, as Project Assembly now visually expands with each build phase. With the final phase, players can use Tier 9 buildings, including the Conveyor Belt Mk.6, the Converter, the Quantum Encoder, and more. The most significant addition is seen with Portals, which enable players to travel far-and-wide in a flash, assuming they have the huge power capacity and Singularity Cells necessary.
Harness Powerful Alien Tech
Players can now further exploit alien artefacts and Strange Alien Matter (SAM) to unlock the most powerful tech from FICSIT Inc. Taking the spotlight is the Dimensional Depot, which can be researched in the Molecular Analysis Machine (MAM) and powered by Mercer Spheres and SAM. This building allows use of a cloud of sorts, accessible from anywhere to store and retrieve resources, reducing the amount of globetrotting when constructing the next factory masterpiece.
New Factory, New Me
New decorative pieces for buildings are now available, including windows, fences, and paint finishes, such as Chrome, Copper, and Carbon Steel. Players can also say goodbye to the dress code! Though the deep orange Pioneer apparel is eye-catching, Pioneers have now been granted freedom to customise their uniform colour, helmet, Build Gun, and to equip tool trinkets.
The full 1.0 release of Satisfactory is now available on PC through Steam and Epic Games.
Cyanide Studio and NACON are pleased to announce that Season 6 of Blood Bowl 3 is out now, featuring not one but TWO new factions: the Goblins and Halflings. This new season is also accompanied by a special event featuring these new factions, as well as two new unlockable rewards pathways, Star Players and a host of adjustments. Blood Bowl 3 is available on PC, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Halflings, a big team in a small package!
The modest size of the Halflings presents a number of disadvantages during Blood Bowl matches, including added difficulty in receiving or throwing the ball, their slower speed and relative weakness when it comes to blocking their opponents. However, they can count on a formidable asset: their robust Treemen teammates. Although they are not one of the most competitive teams in the game, the Halflings faction is without any doubt one of the most fun to play, and is sure to delight any coach desperately seeking a challenge, to show off the extent of their tactical skills!
Play the originality card by picking the Goblins!
The Goblins faction is renowned for its juvenile sense of humour and exuberant creativity when it comes to finding innovative ways of harming the opposition, by fair means or foul, without suffering any retaliation. Goblins can also call on an inexhaustible supply of “secret” weapons, as well as on the assistance of brutish Trolls, who can throw their smaller teammates up the field. All of which might not make them one of the best-performing teams, but definitely one of the most entertaining!
A special ‘Goblins vs. Halflings’ event, and a host of adjustments
To mark the arrival of these two new factions, Season 6 is offering a special event enabling players to experience the Goblins-Halflings rivalry for themselves, by coaching one of the two factions and facing off against the other, with predefined teams! Meanwhile, this season features new Star Players. A whole set of adjustments aimed at improving the gameplay is also being rolled out, such as changes to the Official Ladder rules, enhanced matchmaking or the option to transfer cosmetic items from one unit in a faction to the same unit in another faction. For example, a helmet worn by a Goblin in the Goblin team can also be used by a Goblin in the Orcs team. Furthermore, new player profile customisation options will be added as the season progresses.

Today Owlcat Games, together with Dead Mage and 11 bits studios, are excited to announce the release of the new free DLC for critically acclaimed cRPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Out now on PC and consoles, Visitors from Morta brings together the two fantasy worlds of Pathfinder and Children of Morta. The Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous development team worked hard to capture the mood of Children of Morta and preserve its characters’ personalities while bringing them through the doors to the Worldwound, which can be seen in the trailer below.
In Visitors from Morta, John and Lucy from Children of Morta get into trouble in the Worldwound, and only the Knight Commander can protect them. John and Lucy aren’t the only visitors arriving to the world of Pathfinder, however; the Corruption is spreading its evil, and the Knight Commander must stop it while getting John and Lucy — and Ryker, the Bergson family’s wolf cub — back to their world.
This free DLC features:
A new quest in which players must rescue guests from another world and help them return home
A brand new location
Two new archetypes with unique animations and spells designed specifically for John and Lucy (players can also access these archetypes when creating new characters)
A new female hairstyle designed for Lucy, also available in the character editor
Unique enemies infected by the Corruption
The Visitors from Morta DLC is available as a free download for owners of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Players can activate the DLC quest at the beginning of the second chapter before the Hellknights arrive at the camp, or at any point in chapters 3 and 5. The quest is be brought by Anevia, or Arsinoe if Anevia is unavailable. After getting the quest players will see a new location on the map near Kenabres, where they will meet and help John and Lucy!
